    Simulation Engineer

     

    Summary

    • The Engineer will be part of a Simulation and Modelling team performing simulation studies for small and large projects. The Engineer performs simulation studies using a variety of software which includes Excel, Arena, Simio and G2.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Support proposals and business development initiatives
    • Defining the study objective with the client
    • Gathering the information required for the study
    • Developing the simulation model in appropriate software
    • Verifying the model with the client
    • Conducting the simulation study
    • Assimilating and reporting findings to the client
    • Writing up the study report
    • Visits to client sites
    • Compiling and reviewing data and simulation results typically in MS Excel spreadsheets
    • Presentations within the project team, Hatch and to the client
    • Documentation

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Relevant tertiary degree (Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology)
    • Good results in mathematics and statistics
    • 3 - 5 years simulation and modelling experience
    • Strong analytical skills demonstrated
    • Experience with Arena, Simio and VBA advantageous
    • Ability to manage and delegate to individuals to attain quality, cost and schedule objectives.
    • Some background in the development of business and the pursuit of growth advantageous.
    • Experience with working on projects in a multi-disciplinary environment advantageous.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Good planning and organizational skills.
    • Ability to function with minimal supervision.
    • Good safety awareness.
    • Ability to work away from home at client’s site

    Project Support Coordinator

    Responsibilities

    • Coordination of meetings (venue, logistics, refreshments) on request
    • Minute taking (typing and distribution of meeting minutes
    • Executing and coordination of travel arrangement
    • Managing of the Office filing Structure
    • Provide overall office support (facilities / finance/ general administration as required )
    • Ensuring all relevant documentation is filed in hard copy and electronic copy
    • Maintaining the folder structure on the electronic filing system
    • Managing the diary of the Director ( other Senior Managers)
    • Assisting with day to day activities required by the office ( general administrative duties )
    • Management of Specifications / Procedures
    • Ensure all documentation is routed through the correct Document Management process
    • Assisting with the formatting / layout of Reports
    • Presentation layout and design, including PowerPoint slide generation
    • Ensuring all outgoing documentation are in the correct format
    • Liaison with clients and all service providers and Hatch employees in various locations
    • Assisting with the drafting of letters, memo’s, reports, etc
    • Coordination of the expense claims of the Team
    • Assisting with the Document Management process
    • Receptionist duties ( receiving visitors / access cards etc)
    • Answering of office telephones etc
    • Assist with Document Control duties

    Essential Requirements

    • 5 – 8 years experience in a related environment
    • Diploma or Degree ( preferable)
    • Good interaction with client
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Good problem solving / Conflict management skills
    • Good organizational skills
    • Ability to stay calm under pressure
    • Self starter
    • Able to work independently
