    Shift Mechanical Technician

    Job Description

    In this role, you will:

    • Operate production equipment in accordance with the required safety, housekeeping , quality and production standards.
    • Safety:
    • Comply with all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) rules and regulations at all times. (e.g.,10 critical safety rules and three obligations)
    • Quality:
    • Check for visual defects and measure basic parameters to ensure compliance with quality standards
    • Take appropriate corrective action
    • Make adjustments to the machine on instruction from the Quality Associate
    • Report problems outside of incumbent scope to Team Leader
    • Housekeeping:
    • Maintain world class levels of housekeeping according to the 5’s housekeeping standards
    • Report all damages or defective equipment as and when damage occurs
    • Productivity:
    • Communicate with outgoing counterpart (hand over)
    • Check for housekeeping and safety opportunities
    • Prepare and load raw materials and packaging as required on the machine
    • Run the machine, monitor and make minor adjustments to machine settings to maintain quality, waste and productivity standards
    • Report any major deviations or defects to Team Leader
    • Participate in change overs as required
    • Participate in changing operational supplies (consumables)
    • Provide assistance to Team Leader as instructed
    • Record relevant production information in appropriate logbook accurately

    • Trade Tested Mechanical with N4 or equivalent tertiary qualification. (Red Seal)
    • Minimum of at least 4 years post trade test experience in a Manufacturing or FMCG environment.
    • Knowledge of pulp & paper will be an added advantage.
    • Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, gearboxes, mechanical rollers, belt drives, chain drives and general knowledge of mechanical systems associated with manufacturing environments.
    • Technical and Process knowledge of the Pulp & Paper environment.
    • An incumbent that can work standby on a rotational basis
    • An incumbent with a Mill wide mechanical engineering fault find skills.
    • Logical problem-solving skills
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • An incumbent that can work independently.

    Category Manager

    Job Description

    The Role

    • Responsible for the translation & execution of the local category strategy into the go to market strategy
    • Provide expert guidance to the sales team to ensure teams are enabled to develop best in class customer trade stories & customer reviews. Focused on data systems enablement
    • Work with Head of Category Strategy & National Category Manager to understand the pre-aligned annual category & range review ‘big hits’ and deliver those OTIF in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders
    • Own the executional delivery of DPSM plans and work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to ensure gaps are closed. (Distribution, Price, Shelf, broadsheet)
    • Overseeing & management of enabling data platforms & contracts, troubleshooting as needed. Work with NCM’s & Head of Category strategy on annual contract extensions/updates/cancellations
    • Work with NCM’s to deliver in year executional strategy, supporting key business initiatives (e.g. Innovations, reporting, strategic planning, channel specific initiatives, portfolio planning, target setting, etc).
