    Community Journalist

    Introduction

    • Boland Media has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced local journalist The successful candidate will be enlisted to write for Paarl Post print edition and digital platform, NovaNews. The successful candidate will work closely with the editors to grow and develop content for the defined target audiences. This is a full-time on-site position at Paarl Post's offices (no remote or hybrid work options).

    Job description

    • Contribute high-level long-form content for print in line with the editorial strategies.
    • Create digital content of a high standard in line with business needs, including web articles, social media content, video, and podcasts. 
    • All produced content must be in line with our publications’ style guide and adhere to the editorial structures as defined by the editors.
    • Manage Paarl Post’s social media platforms and digital platforms.
    • Assist in managing content management systems.

    Minimum requirements

    • A degree or diploma in Languages, journalism or media studies.
    • At least three years' proven newsroom experience.
    • Demonstrate the ability to deliver on the expectations. 
    • Strong digital skills.
    • A strong understanding of multimedia.
    • Understanding of media laws and the South African Press Code.

    Programmatic Campaign Manager

    Introduction

    • We are seeking a highly analytical and performance-driven Programmatic Campaign Manager with strong hands-on experience in Display & Video 360 (DV360) and Google Ad Manager (GAM). This role is primarily responsible for planning, executing, and optimising programmatic campaigns within DV360, with secondary responsibilities supporting the Ad Operations team in Google Ad Manager (GAM).     Assistant Human Resources Practitioner

    Introduction

    • Novus Print Gauteng is seeking to appoint an Assistant Human Resources Practitioner. The role will focus on the implementation of company policies and procedures, employee relations practices, and the coordination of recruitment, selection, and assessment processes. The incumbent will also be responsible for HR administration, including performance management, payroll support, training and development, organisational structure maintenance, employment equity, and the preparation of monthly and statutory reports. This position requires a self-motivated individual who is able to work independently.

    Distribution Controller

    Introduction

    • Main purpose of the role: To assist the operations manager with day-to-day management and execution of the branch operations, including responsibility for inventory, OH&S, contractor management, elements of logistics and customer service. Monitor, manage and review outsourced business partner SLA, policies and procedures, suggest necessary operational decisions to operations manager. Oversee all distribution and delivery activities of the depot from induction points to receiver on behalf of all our clients within agreed time, operating procedures, at the lowest cost.

    • Manage all product distribution, media and non-media, including Informal trade network, Door to door delivery’s subscription delivery and Retail in a specified area within a geographical area
    • Proactively plan and enforce compliance to deliver a high level of service.
    • Ensure an efficient and cost-effective distribution network by playing a leading role in dynamic route planning projects to optimise area cost and service
    • Directly manage distribution through disciplined and well trained contractors
    • Appoint contractors within agreed standards and within the company’s rules and approved remuneration structures.
    • Communicate all relevant policies
    • Daily, Weekly and monthly measuring of contractor compliance and Reporting.
    • Resolve any escalated issues from Service centre and ensure feedback within agreed turnaround times.
    • Lead the approach to resource planning, optimisation and management in order to utilise networks across OtD in order to improve efficiency
    • Manage area within agreed budget and efficiency projects and targets
    • Direct reports are recruited, assessed, trained and resource achieves optimum performance within budget.
    • Problems are identified proactively, root causes identified speedily and practical steps are taken to prevent the recurrence of such problems.

    Minimum requirements

    • Matric or equivalent
    • Must have own vehicle
    • Previous experience in managing SLAs and external contractors;
    • Knowledge of distribution principles;
    • Knowledge of inventory management;
    • Valid driver’s license at least code EB;
    • Knowledge of operating systems/applications( Qlikcloud, SCM, Shiplogic)
