    Food Serv Development Specialist

    Job Description:

    • Execute the category strategy into commercially successful product ranges, prioritised for current launch and a pipeline 12 months ahead

    Education

    • An NQF Level 7 degree or diploma in Food and Nutrition, Consumer Studies, or be a qualified chef from a reputable institution

    Experience

    • Minimum 8 years New Product Development experience -in food retail or within a manufacturer that works closely with a food retailer

    Supply Accounting Accountant (Fixed Term Contract)

    Key Responsibilities

    Functional

    • Execute day-to-day inventory accounting/settlements operations to ensure delivery meets customer expectations.
    • Monitor inventory transactions and reports in systems and reconcile inventory and inventory related accounts in the general ledger; review and ensure statutory reports are prepared in a timely manner.
    • Conduct monthly cost and/or stock reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations where necessary.
    • Resolve all outstanding reconciliation issues on a timely basis
    • Investigate and resolve physical inventory movement imbalances and differences.
    • Support external / internal audit and Internal Control reviews.
    • Ensure the generation of accurate and timely payment of / to third party and inter-company vendor/ customer invoices for goods received and related services on behalf of bpSA and in compliance with policies and procedures.
    • Perform review and verification of pricing and transaction volume including contract review and stock/sales/purchases ledger; calculate other charges and fees.
    • Monitor key reports and data to ensure that accounts are accurate and clean.
    • Act as a liaison with business finance, negotiators, schedulers, credit Treasury teams and third parties in identifying and resolving various issues including contract and movement entries, deal documentation review.

    Hydrocarbon Value Chain Analyst (Indirect Tax Accounting)

    About the role:

    Functional scope:

    • Analyse & compile data required for performing the monthly DAS (duty at source) journals and reconciliations.
    • Prepare & submit monthly & quarterly indirect tax balance sheet account analysis, reconciliations & commentary.
    • Handle calculation & validation of DAS accruals at month end.
    • Analyse & investigate Das reconciling items and ensure timely resolution & proactively seek to minimise or eliminate by addressing root causes.
    • Maintain DAS levies system with updated rates, locations, grades, etc.
    • Calculate and account for any DAS levy rate change impacts.
    • Compile and provide DAS data & reports for Management Information purposes.
    • Validate indirect tax invoices for payments & credit notes where required.
    • Assist with Audit request, Ad hoc requests and Projects.
    • Provide cover for other Indirect Tax team members from time to time where required.
    • Service Management & Continuous Improvement:
    • Ensure continuous improvement of existing DAS accounting and operational processes and update DAS standard operating procedures (SOP documents)
    • Maintain strong professional relationships with relevant internal partners and external stakeholders.

    About you:

    • You will hold an Accounting degree or equivalent qualification

    Essential skills and competencies:

    • Approximately 5 years relevant experience in a financial accounting environment, and extensive experience in performing and resolving reconciliations

    Inventory Accounting Team Lead (Fixed Term Contract)

    Job Description:

    • Complete day-to-day inventory accounting/settlements operations to ensure delivery meets customer expectations.

    • Support external / internal audit and Internal control reviews.
    • Ensure the generation of accurate and timely payment of / to third party and inter-company vendor/ customer invoices for goods received and related services on behalf of bpSA and in compliance with policies and procedures
    • Supervise key reports and data to ensure that accounts are accurate and clean.
    • Act as a liaison with business finance, negotiators, schedulers, credit Treasury teams and third parties in identifying and resolving various issues including contract and movement entries, deal documentation review.
    • Assist with fuel tax, freight and ancillary payment processes and provisions.
    • Compile and process accrual entries for movements not processed in the system and cost variances.
    • Calculate, prepare and process month end journals and compile month end reports related to the area of accountability.
    • Provide cover for other Team members from time to time where required.
    • Assist with Ad-hoc requests from the business and support business projects.

    Service Management & Continuous Improvement

    • Ensure continuous improvement in inventory and supply accounting operational processes, process simplification and compliance through utilisation of the key metrics and taking / recommending remediation action as required.
    • Maintain strong professional relationships with relevant internal partners and external stakeholders.

    Graduate - C&P - Supply Chain - South Africa

    Key Accountabilities and Development milestones

    Demand Planning and Performance:

    • Coordinate and participate in below-the-line supply & demand planning processes, building up to Midstream functional review, including daily optimisation forums, weekly demand planning forum, weekly stocks meeting and monthly operational plan session
    • Providing input into organisation working capital forecasting (plan, latest estimate – LE, actuals)
