    Finance Officer_ Financial Reporting - Richards Bay

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensure Optimum People Coordination
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly general ledger reconciliations timeously;
    • Follow up on reconciliation queries;
    • Prepare adjusting journal entries as and when necessary
    • Coordination of external and internal audits;
    • Quality control function of all information submitted to the auditors.
    • Attend to audit steering committee meetings;
    • Attend to all audit queries by both internal and external auditors;
    • Meet all reporting deadlines to ensure smooth audit process and avoid limitation of scope findings. Ensure compliance with all tax legislation;

    Income tax

    • Submission of IRP6 as per tax requirements;
    • Submission of income tax return to SARS on time;
    • Follow up on queries raised by SARS.
    • VAT – preparation and submission of monthly VAT returns

    EMP201

    • Reconciliation of EMP201 and payroll records;
    • Preparation and submission of monthly EMP201s;
    • Liaise with payroll function on all payroll related matters.

    EMP501:

    • Prepare mid year and annual payroll reconciliation for submission to SARS;
    • Follow up on a variances identified before submission to SARS;
    • Generate IRP5s for the annual submission;
    • Attend to all queries raised by SARS
    • Liaise with CCA team in ensuring compliance with CCA related tax matters.
    • Meet all reporting deadlines to avoid penalties and interest being levied

    Prepare the following for review by management:

    • Monthly management accounts provide commentary on movements;
    • Quarterly finance report for submission to oversight structures;
    • Adhoc reports as when required

    Financial Statements preparation:

    • Prepare GRAP compliant interim financial statements for 9 months up to 31 December;
    • Prepare GRAP compliant annual financial statement for the year ended 31 March;
    • Prepare audit file to support all account balances, transactions and disclosures in the financial statements;
    • Complete GRAP disclosure checklist
    • Meet all reporting deadlines set.

    KNOWLEDGE

    • Knowledge of PFMA, IFRS and GRAP ;

    • 3 years operational experience in Finance/ Accounting field (mandatory)
    • Microsoft Office Suite (mandatory)
    • Accounting systems (SAGE Evolution) _ advantageous
    • Valid driver’s license (advantageous)

    CC A Internship - Richards Bay

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    • The successful candidates will be provided with relevant workplace skills and experience in order to prepare the intern for the job market, the development and training areas will include but not limited to the below;
    • Assist with the maintenance of sound customs processes and control systems to deliver efficient Customs Controlled Area service.
    • Providing administrative support in the setting up of unit meetings, drafting of agendas, minute taking, and writing progress reports.
    • Assisting in collection of all relevant documents for SARS representatives, internal and external auditors.
    • Data collection for reports, and liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Update the business on any changes of SARS acts pertinent to the RBIDZ.
    • Assisting with compliance monitoring through SARS audits, and regular review on CCA processes, etc.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Applicant must be in possession of N4, N5 & N6 certificate in Taxation/ Accounting/ Financial Management or related Finance fields (mandatory)
    • Students from TVET colleges in need of work integrated learning.
    • A signed letter for the institution confirming that the student needs in-service training
    • Applicants must Unemployed, must not have participated in any internship or in-service training before.
    • Must be between ages of 18 -35.

    Economic Transformation Intern - Richards Bay

    Description

    • The successful candidate will be provided with relevant workplace skills and experience in order to prepare the learner for the job market, the development and training areas will include but not limited to the below;
    • Inclusive Economic Transformation  
    • Assist Economic Development Team with the coordination and implementation of economic transformation programs as per transformation plans. 
    • Assist with coordination of BBBEE verifications. 
    • Set up internal B-BBEE meetings in all elements of skills development, supplier and enterprise development, socio-economic development, management control and employment equity. 
    • Assist with handling queries related to transformation programs. 
    • Assist with compiling reports and tools for economic transformation programs. 
    • Stakeholder Engagement 
    • -with participation in stakeholder transformation forums at a local community. 
    • Assist with identification of transformation risks and develop risk mitigation plan. 
    • Participate in B-BBEE communication meetings. 
    • Attend workshops, community imbizo, war rooms and dialogues, career expos that are related to economic transformation programs. 
    • Relationship Management - 
    • Assist with specific events aimed at governmental role players pertaining to transformation issues. 
    • Contribute to team success through driving a collaborative work environment. 
    • Assist with economic transformation programs communication. 
    • Financial & Risk Control-
    • assist in finance, risk & compliance by: 
    • Identifying, mitigating, and monitoring potential business risks in relevant business section. 
    • Supporting SHE policies & procedures and ensuring compliance thereto. 
    • Compile Reports
    • Assist to compile Economic Transformation Reports 
    • Assist with reporting the progress on implementation plans.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 
    • National Diploma/ Degree/BTech Degree in Economic Science Social Science or Business administration Development /Community Studies. 
    • Certificate in Project Management (Advantageous). Duration 24 Months. Must not have previous internship experience.
