    Senior Engineering Manager

    What you'll do

    • We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering functions and teams across the full lifecycle of large-scale utility and hybrid renewable energy projects. This role is pivotal in driving technical excellence, ensuring robust design and implementation, and supporting operational optimization across a diverse portfolio of renewable energy assets. CBE is not an EPC or a pure developer, as we seek to build a portfolio of long-term, high-performing assets. CBE will look to you for practical insights on how to make discrete business decisions that will directly affect our financial outcomes.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Lead the technical development of renewable energy projects, including site studies, resource assessments, and optimal configuration design.
    • Provide technical inputs into contractual documentation, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and contractor technical schedules.
    • Oversee and coordinate owner’s engineering workstreams, including interface management, design reviews, testing and commissioning plans, and handover to operations.
    • Support root cause analysis and performance optimization of operating plants.
    • Develop and continuously improve engineering processes, standards, and team structures.
    • Manage and mentor a team of engineers working across multiple projects at various lifecycle stages.

    Qualifications
    Ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

    • Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or related discipline).
    • Discipline is less critical than the candidate’s ability to understand and lead across all technical workstreams.
    • >8 years of relevant experience in engineering roles within the renewable energy sector, or demonstrable experience across several large-scale or complex hybrid projects (PV, BESS, Thermal, Wind) in roles such as Project Engineer, EPC, or Owner’s Engineer.
    • Proven experience in the complete lifecycle of technical development, design, implementation, and operating large, complex utility-scale or hybrid renewable energy facilities.
    • Strong understanding of design workstreams related to large-scale renewable energy projects.
    • Experience in the following sectors / skills will be advantageous:
    • Renewable System Design & Modelling
    • Resource assessments and optimal system configuration and sizing
    • Fundamental understanding of energy modelling and simulation tools
    • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) designs and integration
    • Photovoltaic (PV) System designs, technology selection and implementation of large-scale projects
    • Wind Energy Systems designs, technology selection and implementation of large-scale projects
    • MV system design, including grid interfaces, outdoor / indoor substation design and specification
    • Power System Studies (Grid integration, protection coordination, transient / dynamic stability assessments)
    • SCADA / EMS designs
    • Operational Technology (OT) communication systems design
    • Control philosophy management and optimisation, with key understanding of control modes and applications provided by different suppliers.

    Project Lifecycle Planner

    Job Description 

    • CBE Is looking to employ a Project Lifecycle Planner who will report to the Supply Chain Director. The Lifecycle Planner will be working closely with the Project Development, Implementation and Finance teams to manage the cost controlling function for projects within CrossBoundary Energy.

    What you will do
    Your primary responsibilities would be: 
    Project Cost Controlling:

    • Responsible for cost controlling of all projects from inception through to Implementation 
    • Review and analysis of actuals v budgeted costs 
    • Forecasting & Variance analysis of projects in Early Works Procurement (EWP) to Implementation 
    • Capture and maintenance of materials/lists on Microsoft Dynamics Project Operations 
    • Liaise with project manager (s) and contract managers to forecast expected future costs to completion 
    • Manage the process of contractual revenue/variation order claims 
    • Review and manage the weekly project related expenses 

    Budgeting Process:

    • Support the preparation of project cost budgets for project related early bid submissions  
    • Formulate a detailed budgeting template that incorporates all functions of PV, BESS, Thermal and Wind construction to assist in project bid submissions. 
    • Develop a trend analysis of projects various sizes for future projects 
    • Support Asset Management Commercial team forecasting budgets prior to start of DLP phase of all projects and future O&M forecasted spend. 

    Reporting:

    • Ensure timely project reporting in terms of all Early Stage projects and projects in Implementation phase
    • Ensure Management team is always aware about current cost status of project and possible future deviations 
    • Together with the data operations team, continually update Microsoft Dynamics Project Operations with accurate product and construction related costs. 

    Statutory/regulatory requirement:

    • Ensure compliance with statutory / regulatory requirements, including: 
    • Country specific Reserve Bank approvals; 
    • Bond Resource planning (Bank Guarantees, Parent Company Guarantees) 

    Other ad-hoc tasks:

    • Implementation of internal control and processes 

    Who You Are 

    • You are a self-starter who is passionate about creating lasting change within emerging markets.
    • B.Com Accounting / Finance degree qualification  
    • At least 3 –5 years’ experience in a similar role; or audit background having completed articles will be advantageous 
    • Experience in the renewable energy sector or other assimilated sector (i.e., construction or engineering) preferable 
    • Experience in reporting under IFRS  
    • Advanced skills for Excel and MS Office  
    • Experience in Microsoft Dynamics Project Operations will be advantageous 
    • Good communication skills  
    • Ability to work in a team, self-organised and disciplined  
    • High level of professionalism and attention to detail; good project management and organization skills  
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

    Procurement Officer

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Manage African import regulations efficiently and on time 
    • Complete shipping documents in-house and meet line/agent requirements 
    • Arrange bookings, inspections, and supplier/country-specific needs promptly 
    • Coordinate loading with warehouse and suppliers 
    • Submit clearing documentation to agents quickly 
    • Update costing systems for accurate pricing 
    • Source and negotiate shipping and agent rates for export/import processes 
    • Liaise with suppliers to confirm shipping documents, details, and delivery 
    • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness 
    • Negotiate contracts, terms, and prices with vendors for optimal procurement outcomes

    • Oversee procurement of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) materials, equipment, and services

    • Evaluate O&M suppliers for reliability, technical compliance, and safety standards 
    • Monitor O&M contract compliance, warranty terms, and service agreements 

    Who you are
    Ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications: 

    • At least 6 years’ experience in international cargo logistics (air, sea, road, courier), with preference for experience shipping to African countries 
    • Experience in international procurement processes and supplier management 
    • Proficient in documentation: Certificate of Origin, Bills of Lading, Import/Export Permits

    Business Development Analyst

    What You’ll Do

    • We are seeking a highly analytical and business-focused Business Development Analyst to support our sales and business development teams. This role is pivotal in driving actionable insights, ensuring robust market analysis, and supporting operational optimization across a diverse portfolio of renewable energy assets.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Market & Competitive Analysis

    • Conduct market surveys to track industry trends, commodity price movements (e.g., copper), and competitor activities
    • Ensure intelligence on market position, market share, competitor market share, and identify areas of competitive advantage
    • Identify emerging opportunities and risks in target markets
    • Maintain updated registration with EPCs and mining companies to ensure tender eligibility

    Sales Data Management & Reporting

    • Collect, analyze, and interpret sales data to identify patterns and performance gaps
    • Prepare monthly sales reports and quarterly sales reviews aligned with CrossBoundary quality standards
    • Develop dashboards and KPIs for real-time performance monitoring
    • Manage CRM and ensure pipeline follow-up

    Forecasting & Strategy Support

    • Build predictive models for sales forecasting and revenue projections
    • Provide data-driven recommendations to optimize pricing strategies and improve conversion rates
    • Prepare business plans (go-to-market strategies, sales reviews)

    Internal Coordination
