    Senior eRetailer Mr Price

    a day in your life?

    • Demonstrating creativity and good business acumen to create an exceptional virtual shopping experience for shoppers, providing key information and creating the perfect visual experience. 

    • Ensure that the products allocated to the online store have the correct information and are launched online in time.  

    • Ensure that merchandise visual presentation quality, style and application are captured in such a way that it optimizes the sale of the respective merchandise.

    • Create and load appropriate categorization for each product category.

    • Align launching on products with key campaign

    • Management of the physical ecommerce store: in terms of fragmentation and clearance.

    • Marketing integration by working closely with the Online Marketer which will assist to understand which products have led customers to our e-commerce store and their respective buying and browsing behavior.

    • Sales accountability to the Brand Merchants to drive sales of their respective merchandise which will involve constant collaboration with the brand merchants.

    • Analytics and reporting

    Merchandise Planner Mr Price Home

    purpose

    To develop and execute seasonal merchandise strategies for a respective categories under supervision taking into account the business strategy, past sales history and current trade in order to forecast stock and sales and build a contemporary homeware to delight our customer.                                                                                                                                                                                         

    key responsibilities

    1. Forecasting Stock and Sales:

    • Development of an accurate sales forecast, in order to determine optimal stock levels for the purpose of maximizing revenue and gross profit for the category/ies.              

    1. Trade Optimization:

    • Continuously identifying areas of opportunity and risk within the current execution of planned stock and sales forecasted and development/implementation of individual portfolio actions to correct the projection in order to maintain the forecasted sales trajectory.

    1. Merchandise Process:

    • Preparation and presentation of meaningful proposals for relevant portfolio based on the analysis of relevant product performance data, market research, industry best practice and innovation in order to provide the customer with an assortment of quality fashionable and contemporary homeware at value pricing to drive sales and business profit.                                   

    1. Reporting & Analysis:

    • Extraction and analysis of reports in order to provide commentary and insight, under the supervision of Senior Planner, for use in day to day operations and Merchandise Review Processes (Window, PM, Strat) in order to further the seasonal merchandise strategy.

    1. Administration:

    • Execution of various administrative items in order to ensure the efficient functioning of the Planning and function and execution of the business strategy.

    1. Education:

    • Relevant Degree or Diploma (Bachelor of Commerce (Finance, Supply Chain & Logistics, Retail Business Management, Economics related).

    1. Experience:

    • 2-4 Years planning experience in Retail.

    • 1-2 Years’ experience as a Trainee Planner.

    1. Knowledge/ Skills:

    Finance Business Partner

    your responsibilities

    Strategy:

    • Contribute to the development of the company strategy by providing financial advice, insights and support and ensure communication & a clear understanding thereof throughout the finance team.

    Reporting:

    • Compilation and submission of reports weekly, monthly, at half-year and year-end and annually (e.g., Group financial reporting pack - board pack, half-year & year-end financial packs, annual budget packs, general ledger, trial balance etc.). to submit to stakeholders to ensure compliance with audit requirements & deliverables.

    Analysis:

    • Use business insights and provide cost centre analysis against budget to provide feedback and/or recommendations at monthly meetings with the relevant manager

    Financial Management:

    • Ensure effective control of costs, cash flow management and other finance efficiencies (e.g., monthly forecasting, review of the one-liner, stock levels, stock ageing, etc.) to maintain the businesses general administration.

    Payments:

    • Approve and release payments to suppliers ensuring that invoices appear on statements and contain correct regulatory information

    Financial Packs, BS Revaluation:

    • Completion of financial Packs for Foreign Entities at HY & FY. Includes revaluation of the balance sheet to spot rate for countries with exchange rate implications. Compilation of disclosure schedules for Group & external auditors (Legal, consulting, OS Travel)

    what are the requirements?

    • BCOMPT Honours. CIMA or CA (SA) advantageous
    • 1 - 2 years experience
