    About The Department

    Novo Nordisk South Africa is looking to appoint an experienced Sales Representative who will be Changing possibilities for people living with diabetes, by promoting and selling Novo Nordisk Diabetes products to selected targeted customers in the Gauteng South Area through implementation of the agreed Marketing and Sales strategies in a manner that is consistent with operational requirements and upholding the Novo Nordisk Way.

    The base location of this Sales Representative will be in the Gauteng South Area, in South Africa, and will report directly to the Field Sales Manager of the Gauteng South Region.

    The position

    As a Sales Representative your key responsibilities will be to change the outcomes of people affected by the diseases that we are involved in, the success of which is measured by achieving sales targets and growth in the allocated territory, by promoting Novo Nordisk products. This will require that you execute sales strategies effectively, efficiently and ethically and participate as a member of a high performing team by sourcing and communicating market information to the team. The role will further require that you build consultative relationships with clinicians, pharmacists, nurses and other pharmaceutical and related stakeholders.

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will hold a University Degree/Diploma or equivalent in Medicine / Pharmacy / Biology or related science or paramedical qualification. Previous sales experience is preferred (experience with Diabetes an advantage) Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good command of English is required; Computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point);

    The ideal candidate will also demonstrate an ability and passion to influence from patient centred approach; strong attention to quality and detail; good planning and organisational skills and the agility and willingness to quickly adjust to new situations in a continuously developing environment; ability to engage people with different backgrounds (science, business, etc.) and work within a diverse environment. We are looking for a dynamic high-performer with a strong performance-driven track record who is highly engaged. Additional skills include good decision making and problem-solving skills and excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate. The candidate should also ideally demonstrate a willingness to collaborate with stakeholders and drive their personal development. These attributes coupled with the technical skills of analysing sales Impact Rx will ensure success in this role.

    Pharmacovigilance Pharmacist

    About The Department

    Novo Nordisk South Africa is looking to appoint an experienced Pharmacovigilance (PV) Pharmacist who will be responsible for e stablishing, developing and maintaining the overall PV systems, ensuring safety information is reported to Global Safety and the local health authority within the stipulated timelines and in accordance with Novo Nordisk and local requirements. The Pharmacovigilance Pharmacist will also serve as a contact person for the local health authority and the National Adverse Drug Event Monitoring Centre (NADEMC) for all matters relating to pharmacovigilance, preparing the adverse drug reaction reports, Periodic Safety Update Reports (PSURs), summary report of ADRs and company-sponsored post-registration study reports for submission to the Authority. Additional key responsibilities further include ensuring continuous review, update and management of the Safety Data Exchange Agreement (SDEA) with relevant Third Parties. The pharmacovigilance pharmacist will also be responsible for performing PV audits and close off the audit findings issued during HQ and local audits and assist the quality assurance department with the release of final product for sale, in a manner that is consistent with operational requirements and upholding the Novo Nordisk Way.

    The base location of this position will be in the Rivonia office, in South Africa, and will report directly to the Regulatory, Quality and Safety Manager.

    The position

    As a Pharmacovigilance Pharmacist, your key responsibilities will further include overseeing outsourced social media activities for potential safety reports. Ensure that Dear Health Care Professional Letter (DHCPL) for a new or emerging important safety and/or efficacy information that meets the criteria of distribution via a DHCPL is distributed timeously. Ensure training of employees as well as Third Party Vendors on the reporting of safety information requirements. You will further be responsible for the successful monitoring and reporting of project timelines.

    Externally, you will be an active representative within pharmaceutical associations and the Health Authority, being prepared to answer to Health Authority’s requests and demands at all times.

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor of Pharmacy degree. It is preferred that the candidate has a minimum of 3 years’ Pharmacovigilance experience and knowledge of local legislation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good command of English is required, as well as computer skills, MSOffice.

    Novo Nordisk South Africa is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Effectiveness Managerwho will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring that Commercial Effectiveness Methodology is implemented; sales force analytics that will support management in the decision making process related to all Commercial activities.

    The base location of this Commercial Effectiveness Manager will be in Johannesburg, South Africa, however the incumbent will be required to travel nationally and internationally when required and will report directly to the Head of Marketing in South Africa.

    The position

    As a Commercial Effectiveness Manager you will be accountable for the overall planning, monitoring and implementation of the Novo Nordisk Commercial Effectiveness guidelines and processes in the affiliate. In this capacity you will be required to design and implement appropriate plans for achieving Commercial Effectiveness key performance indicators as well as support the Sales department in implementing Commercial Effective processes. In addition, you will further manage communication with regional departments responsible for Commercial Effectiveness and be responsible for preparing the affiliate for commercial effectiveness audits.

    Other key responsibilities include: m anaging the segmentation and targeting processes in collaboration with the Marketing and Sales Management team; managing territory planning through business analysis and coordinating and consolidating the national commercial effectiveness reporting for the affiliate.

    In this capacity you will also play an integral role in identifying training needs for the Sales Force and driving training Agenda for the Sales Team annually. You will be required to collaborate with the Training and Development Manager to source and deliver best practice training interventions that are anchored around the Sales Competency framework. You will be responsible for the design and implementation of a solid Sales Force financial and non-financial rewards system in the Affiliate in collaboration with the Head of Sales.

    As a Commercial Effectiveness Manager it is imperative that you maintain the internal relationships with the following departments locally within South Africa: Marketing, Sales, People and Organisation, Finance, Legal and IT and further maintain the Global relationships within the Business Area Africa Unit with the Commercial Effectiveness Manager and Strategic Operations Manager.

    In this role you will demonstrate a deep knowledge and understanding of Commercial or Sales Force Analytics in the Pharmaceutical industry. You will further show competence in the ability to interpret data and create effective reporting formats and demonstrate an ability to improvise for contingency planning, account planning, coaching and development.

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will be in possession of University degree. A minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience in the role of a Commercial or Sales effectiveness Manager within the Pharmaceutical Industry. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good command of English is required; Computer skills (Advanced Excel, Word, Power Point). CRM experience is essential.
