    Investment Administrator

    Job description

    ROLE DESCRIPTION

    Sygnia is an innovative FinTech company based in South Africa and listed on the main board of the JSE. The company provides asset management, stockbroking and administration services, as well as a wide range of savings products, to institutional and retail clients. All that we do is supported by leading-edge technology platforms.

    This role is within the Institutional Investment Administration department, a hard-working team, dedicated to providing superior service to clients.

    • The duties and responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to) taking responsibility of any clients or product ranges assigned:
    • Daily unitisation/ valuation of multi-manager products
    • Daily reporting to clients, including dissemination of unit prices and trade confirmation statements
    • Daily processing of client cash flows including the investment/ disinvestment of client funds with the relevant asset managers
    • Processing of EFT payments and transfers to internal bank accounts, asset managers and clients
    • Bank reconciliations on a daily basis
    • Unit reconciliations on a daily and monthly basis
    • Payment and processing of monthly management fees
    • Monthly client reporting
    • Where necessary, assisting with take-ons/ transitions of new clients
    • Where necessary, assisting with restructures/ transitions of existing clients
    • Performing daily controls and resolving all discrepancies

    ROLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor of Business Science degree/ Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent tertiary qualification.
    • A minimum of 2 years investment administration experience is required.

    Retirement Fund Administrator

    Job description

    ROLE DESCRIPTION

    Sygnia is the fastest-growing multi-management company in South Africa. Join this dynamic company by becoming a part of their Employee Benefits Administration team as a Retirement Fund Administrator.

    The duties and responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to) taking responsibility of any clients or product ranges assigned:

    • Following up of monthly contributions
    • Reconciliation, allocation and investment of monthly contributions within the required turnaround times
    • Reconciliation and deduction of risk premiums and fund expenses
    • Reconciliation and allocation of section 14 and individual transfers received from or paid to other retirement funds and preparation and issuing of transfer certificated
    • Investing of monthly contributions and transfer values
    • Disinvestment and payment of all types of claims within the required turnaround times (e.g. divorce, death, retirement, etc)
    • Checking documentation received for benefits are appropriate, and following up on outstanding documentation
    • Liaising with insurers on risk claims (e.g. disability, funeral, death, etc)
    • Applications for tax directives from SARS
    • Preparation of administration reports for trustees and or management committees
    • Assisting the fund accounting team with their preparation of relevant schedules for audit purposes
    • Checking the annual benefit statements for accuracy prior to distribution to clients
    • Investigating and responding to employer and member queries in a professional manner
    • Working closely with all relevant parties, e.g. internal and external consultants, participating employers, trustees, principal officers, fund accountants, etc
    • Attendance of trustee, management committee or other committee meetings where necessary

    ROLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Diploma/Degree Advantageous
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Employee Benefits
    • Previous experience with umbrella fund administration and/or standalone retirement fund administration
    • Working knowledge and experience of Everest (administration system) advantageous
