    Breakdown Technician - Witbank

    Job Purpose

    • Job Purpose We are looking for a Breakdown Technician reporting directly to the Branch Manager. This is a Local role, based in Witbank.
    • You will Maintain good customer relations by providing excellent customer service. Work on breakdowns on a full time basis and assist with deliveries

    Responsibilities

    • Collection and transportation of goods Will be required to do breakdown work during and after hours
    • Ensure all tools including safety cage and safety equipment necessary for breakdowns is on break down vehicle
    • Accurate and timely attendance to customer breakdowns
    • Safe and effective operation of company vehicles
    • Accurate completion of all breakdown documentation.
    • Scrap tyres returned to branch and necessary documentation to be attached to breakdown sheet.
    • Client liaison and accurate record keeping of all goods in transit

    Artisian - Fitter & Turner (Brits)

    Job Purpose

    To ensure machine availability at all times within the planned budget. To be accountable for the service and maintenance of machines in the area of responsibility.

    Responsibilities:

    • Do machine set ups and planned maintenance.

    OTR Technician - Witbank

    Job Purpose

    We are looking for a OTR Technician reporting directly to the Service Centre Manager . This is a Local role, based in Witbank.
    You will Conducting monthly site/fleet surveys for customers. Scrap analysis, load studies, TKPH studies, Site Severity studies and monitoring of fleet and products as well as assist the branches with possible sales identification as well as monitoring of tyres and machines across the board. You will be responsible for the repair of OTR tyres.

    Responsibilities:

    • Monthly Surverys
    • Planning needs to be done on a monthly basis to ensure that the specific site(s) will be visited and that the person(s) responsible will be available for feedback. This will include numerous reporting such as Site Severity studies, scrap analysis, Fleet surveys, urgent attention, selling opportunities etc.
    • Specialised Studies
    • Specialised studies to be done like Load studies and TKPH
    • Feedback
    • Feedback is given to both the Branches and customers involved. This will identify possible selling opportunities (Branches) and possible corrective actions (customers).
    • Monthly Organising/Planning
    • This includes record keeping of travels, customer calling schedule and expenses.

    • Grade 12 with English, Afrikaans, Mathematics and Science (R)

    General Worker - Aggeneys

    Job Purpose

    We are looking for a General Worker reporting directly to the Branch Manager. This is a local role, based in Swakopmund.

    You will ensure that all the tyres are maintained.

    Responsibilities:

    Tyre Maintenance

    • All vehicles to leave the yard with tyres as per SLA;
    • All vehicles are surveyed at least once a month;
    • Conduct pressure maintenance and correctly capture pressure readings on Survey Sheet;
    • Capture tread depth readings over three sections of the tread area and capture on Survey Sheet;
    • Fit all wheel positions with valve caps and on all dual positions a valve extension;
    • All tyre movements are captured on a Tyre Change Slip;
    • All wheel changes must be done subject to SLA;
    • Remove smooth tyres and match tread, size and status mismatches;
    • Remove tyres with a pressure reading under a 15% of the recommended pressure and check for irregularities;
    • Brand tyres as per Bridgestone Commercial and Client agreement;
    • Torque all wheel positions at least once a month;
    • Report all wheel defects with a Tyre Action Report;
    • Inspect and clean rims before fitting tyres.

    Stock

    • Stock is taken on a daily basis in a Bridgestone Commercial Stock Book;
    • Stock must be taken by size and brand number;
    • Report daily stock to Customer. (Sign off Stock Sheet);
    • All tyres in stock must have a brand number for identification.

    Health & Safety

    • Correctly lift motor vehicle;
    • Utilize correct tools for the job;
    • Correctly fit tyres to rim;
    • Fit wheels on to motor vehicles correctly;
    • Always dressed in Bridgestone Commercial PPE;
    • Handle tools with care and keep them clean at all times;
    • Ensure work area and yard is always clean;
    • Machines & tools are always stored correct and safely;
    • Dressing rooms are always presentable and neat;
    • Ensure that no company property gets damaged;
    • Tyres are neatly packed and clearly marked for easy identification;
    • Comply with the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act;
    • Ensure Personal Protective Equipment and facilities provided by the company are in good and clean working condition.

    Administration

    • Capture tyre survey info in a Bridgestone Commercial Survey Book;
    • Capture all tyre movements in a Bridgestone Commercial Tyre Change Slip Book;
    • All tyres sent to the factory must be captured in a Factory Control Book;
    • Keep a Branding Register of all tyres branded;
    • All paperwork must be stored in a save dry place.

    Customer Liaison

    • Identify all Maintenance Related Problems and report to the customer;
    • Maintain a good working relationship with the customer;
    • Undertake all reasonable requests and instructions, given verbally or in writing that falls within the parameters of own line of duty;
    • Ensure customer satisfaction at all times.

    General Responsibilities

    • Torque wrench spring relax after use;
    • Lubricate impact on daily basis;
    • Drain water traps and compressor daily;
    • Clean and store equipment daily;
    • Compliance to health and safety procedures on site.

    Technical Planner -Mokopane

    Job Purpose

    Technical Supervisor / Planner provides technical and safety support to site personnel and where necessary, liaise with senior personnel within the client companies. The Technical Supervisor / Planner will be resourceful, flexible to a changing business environment and its demands and adapt quickly to new circumstances. The Technical Supervisor / Planner must be able to maintain a high level of participation in the safe running of an on-site.

    Main responsibilities

    The following is a general list of tasks that a person in this position is required to perform.The Company may add to or vary these duties from time to time provided the variation is reasonable having regard to the Employee’s skills, competence and training.

    • Liaise with tyre suppliers with regards to tyre supply and manufacturer warrantees      
    • Make recommendations to Project Engineers on any factor affecting tyre performance and costs, or which would enhance the overall performance of the operation (usually via GMR)
    • Ensure that the contract scope of work is performed to a high quality of service
    • Taking part in the evaluation of all training procedures and personnel - assessments         
    • Ensure that quality documents are maintained, filed and archived according to OMS procedures          
    • Ensure that technical standards are implemented and being maintained on sites where appropriate         
    • Audit sites for compliance to the OMS           
    • Liaise with responsible personnel as required, identifying and reporting any quality related complaints or deficiencies      
    • Ensure that Otraco standards and policies are being maintained and that all employees comply with the procedures as per the OMS            
    • Review the statistical and written sections of monthly reports (GMR/SMR’s)
    • Provide technical specifications & feedback to the technical manager to ensure
    • that workshop equipment is fit for purpose and meets safety requirements
    • Provide technical reports and site severity reports

    • Monitoring and conducting Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Planned Task Observation (PTO), (SBO) and risk assessments
    • Assist with the investigation of incidents to determine controls to eliminate or reduce the risk of injury or damage to personnel and equipment
    • Review safe work procedures to ensure Otraco site personnel are compliant with technical standards and sound, safe work practices
    • Ensure compliance with all instructions documented in the OMS Safety Plan
    • Promote safe work practices throughout the company
    • Assist with setting safety standards, implementing safety programmes and ensure that all Otraco employees have the systems to maintain safe working practices on each site
    • Accept and adhere to legal appointment

    Requirements

    • Essential: The person will have the following minimum qualifications:             
    • 4 Years or more of Off The Road (OTR) earthmoving experience
    • Exceptional communication skills      
    • Preferably 2 Years of supervisory experience             
    • Valid driver’s license  
    • Senior Certificate or equivalent to Grade 12
    • Preferably hold a Bachelors of engineering degree  
    • Preferably a certificate earthmover tyre fitting & stripping 
    • Broad base workplace safety experience – NOSA certificate accepted only.
    • Preferably a certificate in Risk management
    • Sound technical tyre knowledge        
    • Must be able to perform without supervision            
    • Computer literacy with advanced experience in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and
    • Outlook

    Technical Planner/Supervisor - Emalahleni

    Job purpose

    Ensure efficient service delivery by managing site staff and assets productively. Maintaining client and vendor relations and performing a variety of administrative tasks. The purpose of this role is to ensure compliance with SLA between Bridgestone Commercial and Client.

    Main responsibilities

    Tyre Maintenance     

    • All vehicles to leave yard as per SLA agreement. (If not possible customer to sign release form)
    • All wheel positions are pressure maintained.
    • Actual pressures are taken and captured on survey sheet.
    • Tread depth readings are taken over three sections of the tread area.
    • Wheel positions are correctly fitted with valve caps and where necessary valve extensions.
    • All tyre movements are captured on a Tyre Change Slip.
    • All tyres below agreed removal mm must be removed.
    • Correct matching must take place by size, tread and status.
    • All tyres with Kpa readings under 15% of the recommended pressure must be removed and checked for irregularities.
    • All tyres are correctly branded as per agreement.
    • All wheel positions are torqued at least once a month.
    • Undertake all reasonable requests and instructions, given verbally or in writing that falls within the parameters of own line of duty.

    Health & Safety

    • Responsible for Health and Safety at the Site
    • All employees are provided and dressed in clean PPE.
    • Yard and work area are neat and clean at all times.
    • Adhere to safety standards at all times.
    • All tools and equipment are kept certified and calibrated and recorded on the tool register.
    • Communicate any risk, injury, loss of life or damage to company assets to management in line with prescribed company procedures.
    • All work to be carried out in accordance to SOP

    Stock

    • Opening and closing stock are done on a daily basis.
    • Stock is taken in a Bridgestone Commercial Stock Book on a daily basis.
    • Stock must be taken by size and brand number.
    • Stock must be reported to management on a daily basis by using a stock & expense report.
    • All stock must be balanced to the Maximizer and filed on a daily basis.
    • All tyres in stock must have a brand number for identification.
    • Make use of a Tyre Deactivation Register.
    • All problem tyres must be reported to the customer and signed off.
    • Ensure that customers breakdown tyres are returned

    Customer Liaison     

    • Fill out tyre action reports for all vehicles visiting the service centre (communicate all defects to customer).
    • Identify all Maintenance Related Problems and report to the Customer.
    • Maintain a good working relationship with the Customer

    Breakdowns    

    • Organize breakdown and standby rosters
    • Ensure all breakdowns are attended to
    • Breakdowns cannot be declined
    • Breakdowns are captured in a Breakdown Log Book

    Asset Management    

    • All on site tools are captured on a tool register and signed off on a monthly basis.
    • All company owned vehicles are serviced when necessary.
    • All company owned vehicles are kept neat and clean.
    • All company owned vehicles are operated with a Log Book.

    Required capabilities
