An International Mining Company, with a major copper project in Southern Africa is seeking a strong candidate to join their team as a Project Controller. The successful candidate will be based in the Johannesburg office with travel to site as required.
Responsibilities
- Control and optimise the construction schedule on a large mine infrastructure project and to generate high-level project schedules on various engineering CAPEX and OPEX projects within the Balama construction site.
- Prepare project plans, schedules and establish milestones.
- Lead in establishing and assessing schedule risk.
- Evaluate and report schedule deviations.
- Ensure work breakdown structures are carried through the project schedules.
- Prepare high-level and detailed schedules, monitoring curves.
- Report progress achieved and schedule outcomes.
- Participate in vendorcontractor bid reviews.
- Assist in claims evaluation and negotiation.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Project / Construction Management or Engineering qualifications.
- 10+ years' experience in project planning and schedule control on engineering and construction projects.
- Extensive experience in construction planning and the ability to challenge and optimise schedules.
- Previous experience working within a greenfields mining project environment.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills.

Responsibilities
- Produce general arrangement drawings of formwork using AutoCAD
- Attend meetings with Sales Engineers liaising knowledgeably and professionally and giving accurate advice regarding formwork solutions to Customers
- Accurately quantify lists of materials from layouts of completed designs
- Produce detailed assembly drawings
- Ensure excellent administration of filing and records
- Design optimally and economically using stock on hand.
- Good knowledge of local laws and regulations regarding formwork and scaffolding
- Manage and lead projects effectively to conclusion, including planning (taking into account the need to pre-empt customer requirements), and prioritization of work
- Design using knowledge and understanding of application of special structural steel for formwork and other applications from first principles
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- N.Dip: Civil Engineering (Preferably B Tech degree in Civil Engineering)
- Experience in AutoCAD
- 8 years’ experience as a Draughtsman
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel)
- Ability to perform advanced calculations independently and read and understand design tables
- Thorough knowledge of general construction practice

Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Skills Development Act / Skills Development Levies Act
- 3-5 years of experience in the Heave-duty or medium-duty truck/equipment, automotive, construction or equipment industries
- Training or HR Diploma or suitable and/or equivalent ETD qualification
- 1-3 years learning & development experience in a Technical environment
- WSP/ATR compilation experience a must
- MERSETA/Apprenticeship programme knowledge and experience
- Preferable from a trade background as a Diesel Mechanic
- Willing to travel locally and to Sub-Saharan Africa if required

The Senior Sales Engineer will report into the General Manager: Process Industries. The four main focus points are: Business Intelligence/Strategy, Business Development, Technical Sales, and Reporting/Forecasting.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a good understanding of the market environment that the company is operating in. This involves assisting management in the development of the strategic direction of the company
- Build and maintain contact with decision makers, captains of the industry, government institutions, investors and other industry players
- Adopt a consultative approach in working with clients to establish their requirements and propose solutions
- Develop EP, EPCM, EPC execution concepts for presentation to clients including detailed discussions
- Regular reporting on BD/Sales activities on various levels in the organisation and responsible for the development of budgets and forecasts
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or similar) and degree or diploma in Business Administration
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in Sales or Business Development in the Chemical industry or related
- Computer literate, with good working skills in MS Office Suite
- Ad hoc travel (local and overseas) will be required (>50%)
- Excellent understanding of the (petro-) chemical industry
- Proven track record of Sales in the (petro-) chemical industry
- Passion for Sales & Marketing and ability to work under pressure
