    Production Planner

    Job description

    Job Overview:

    The Production Planner is responsible for delivering detailed production schedules that enable the purchasing to procure the correct materials and production to execute the correct volumes at the right time – in order to meet the demand of the various divisions. The successful candidate will be required to optimize the planning and purchasing requirements in an effort to meet service, cost, and inventory goals.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Being aware of production constraints and organizing regular meeting with production teams, delivering a daily, weekly and monthly production plan.
    • Follow-up on output results in relation to plan, making necessary adaptations in conjunction with production management, customer care and purchasing
    • Ensure that forecasts are received timeously, and that their accuracy is continuously improved upon.
    • Maintain and report on production planning metrics. Ensure they are published timeously, and work toward continuous improvement plans
    • Work with suppliers and third party manufacturers, to meet plan delivery date and quantity requirements to optimize service, inventory and cost.
    • Ensure that out of stocks and back orders are highlighted in advance to relevant stakeholders. Communicating effectively and timeously is critically important.
    • Work towards continuously improving the MRP system that is utilized – bring innovation with an aim to improving efficiency in the areas of generating material requirments.
    • Utilize timely and effective communication of issues in purchasing materials that may result in poor plan adherence. This includes providing daily updates to advise both internal and external personnel regarding supplier and open purchase order status exceptions, identifying appropriate re-planning and/or recommended courses of action to minimize non-conformances.
    • Control inventory levels to agreed parameters
    • Manage/follow-up on at risk (slow moving and obsolete) materials
    • Cooperate with Sales/Marketing on matters of product launches and product eliminations
    • Achieve KPI’s to support the organization’s service, working capital, and cost goals. Provide formal and informal reporting on plant performance such as back-orders, plan adherence, and inventory results.
    • Effectively communicate, collaborating with suppliers, internal plant personnel, planning, and Supply Chain management
    • Compile all the necessary reporting information required to conduct S&OP meetings – in accordance with Ecolab global requirements

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of applicable Supply Chain Planning or Procurement experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Chemical Engineering, or Commerce with experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
    • Experience with common ERP and planning/materials management/procurement systems and MS Office, primarily Excel
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
    • Experience working in a plant manufacturing environment

    SHEQ Manager

    Job description

    Job Overview:

    • The primary responsibility of the SHEQ Manager is the ownership of Management Systems, related to Safety, Health, Environment and Quality management of the Ecolab Johannesburg Plant and Warehousing sites.
    • This includes the generation, determination and maintenance of these systems, and ensuring compliance to them, and the Standards and Regulations that they adhere to.
    • The job incumbent is responsible for supporting plant management in all quality, safety and environmental system needs and provide support that will include auditing, training information and communication

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Define, supervise and maintain all quality, safety and environmental systems and guidelines
    • Manage all laboratory associates and laboratory functions.
    • Monitor the market in terms of legal changes ensuring that relevant information is distributed to the relevant departments
    • Be the custodian of compliance to EPIC for the manufacturing location, ensuring full adherence to company manufacturing protocols
    • Maintain all requirements necessary for certification to ISO 9001 : 2014
    • Willingness to direct the implementation of ISO 450001
    • Initiate and co-ordinate own internal and external quality audits for permits and certification
    • Control, monitor and report the budget for the area of responsibility
    • Propose the expansion of existing systems and creation of new systems in line with corporate guidelines
    • Conduct and co-ordinate all quality, environmental and safety related training.
    • Primary contact for external bodies related to SHEQ including the HSE, EA and other Regulatory Bodies, external Quality organizations such as DQS, SABS and SHEQ related consultants.
    • Ensuring compliance to regulations and standards, such as OSHA, environmental and other operating permits, and health monitoring programs. Reviewing and implementing applicable legislation.
    • Providing SHEQ support for the site, and owning the Safety/Incident Management systems, and sites interaction in other related corporate systems.
    • Oversight of all waste management, shipping regulation compliance, and associated areas.
    • Leadership in Process Safety Management, Behavioral Based Safety, and Occupational safety improvement programs
    • Preparation or editing of SHEQ key performance indicators into local and corporate reporting tools.
    • Support corporate departments by conducting negotiations with external authorities, customers and suppliers
    • Initiate and co-ordinate own internal and external quality audits for permits and certification
    • Propose the expansion of existing systems and creation of new systems in line with corporate guidelines
    • Conduct and co-ordinate all quality, environmental and safety related training.

    Qualifications:

    • Degree in Safety or Quality related discipline
    • Experience in a Laboratory / QC environment – strong advantage
    • 5+ years’ experience in safety management field
    • Experience in ISO 9001:2014
    • Experience in ISO 45001 / OSAHA 18001
    • Process Safety experience / qualification preferable
    • Excellent numeracy, literacy and IT skills/education
    • Management communication and team skills
