    Fuels Trader 6 month Fixed Term Contract

    Purpose of the Job

    • Manage and ensure regular and economic sourcing & supply of finished bulk product to South Africa and neighbouring countries (BLNS) and develop system plus trading business to optimize on logistics/economics in co-ordination with Enterprise Optimization and Supply.Manage and ensure regular and economic sourcing & supply of finished bulk product to South Africa and neighbouring countries (BLNS) and develop system plus trading business to optimize on logistics/economics in co-ordination with Enterprise Optimization and Supply.

    What you’ll have done before:
    Baseline

    • NQF Level 7 (Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or relevant)
    • 8 years’ experience in Oil and Gas with minimum of 3 years in Supply Chain environment.
    • Extensive experience in Trading and Supply of crude and/or Petroleum products.

    Advantageous

    • Degree in Commerce or Engineering
    • Experience in South African operations for supply of petroleum.
    • Knowledge of Allegro or related Trading system.

    What you'll be doing
    PRODUCT SOURCING

    •     Sourcing and supply of all finished products, bulk fuels and refinery feedstocks (reformate) for South Africa and its neighbouring countries (BLNS)

    CONTRACT MANAGEMENT

    •     Negotiates terms and conditions of contracts and manages the implementation, operation and reconciliation of contractual agreements with external suppliers

    STRATEGIC INITIATIVE SUPPORT

    •     Provide support to the strategic initiatives to ensure system supply trading profitability and system plus trading profitability

    SYSTEM MANAGEMENT

    •     Manage and provide support to the system stakeholders (internal/external) to ensure smooth and efficient business operations

    RISK MANAGEMENT

    •     Recommend Price Risk and Hedging Strategies in order to minimize the price risk and losses that may arise from physical products sourcing.

    New Product Developer

    Purpose of the Job

    • To develop and deliver new products on renewables, specialities, chemicals and intermediates in line with Chemicals and Special Products vision and objectives for sustainable growth and increased overall profitability.

    What you'll have done before
    Baseline

    • NQF Level 7 (Diploma in Chemistry/ Chemical Engineering or equivalent)
    • 6 years’ experience in Product Development within Chemical industry

    What you will be doing
    NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT 

    •     Conduct secondary research to identify new product trends, opportunities & market developments to deliver on future growth and profitability plan. 
    •     Identify, analyze and interpret customers, markets and global trends to establish a new product development plan that delivers strategic innovation in line with Chemicals and Special Products vision and growth targets also in line with the PETRONAS MFT 50.30.0 targets
    •     Develop new products based on Chemicals and Special Products stage gate process to ensure are delivered in line with agreed product development plan.
    •     Plan and execute new product introduction launches with relevant stakeholders
    •     Secure sources of supply for new products and ensure proper controls in place to mitigate business risks
    •     Conduct research on industry trends on factors driving product demand, pricing impacts and competitor operations
    •     Implement the product development process and integration of various roles and functions within selected sales stream to ensure that product ranges are delivered in line with agreed product development plan. 

    FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT 

    •     Determine project forecast for year ahead and manage budget with agreed LOA’s and ensure accurate budget indicators are available
    •     Manage cost control processes and report on budget variances and authorise expenditure within LOA

    STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT  

    •     Ensure that related SLA's are in place and adhered to and ensure engagement with internal customers and stakeholders on service/delivery needs as per determines timelines
    •     Manage and drive partnerships relationships/meet with new suppliers
    •     Develop and influence suppliers to sign long-term contracts to support long-term strategy for Chemicals 
    •     Provide technical support & training to sales team and customers on new products and ensure integrity of relevant SAP data in PM module

    PRODUCT STEWARDSHIP 

    •     Evaluate new individual product lifecycles for cost effectiveness and ensure new product introduction, modification and deletion of obsolete products/products to be replaced is carried out as part of PLCM system requirements   
    •     Ensure product costing is monitored and controlled and prepare product forecast

    Floor Space Planner

    Purpose of the Job

    • To create and maintain supply-chain-optimised & product displays in stores, using the (Intactix/ CKB) space planning system to enable our category teams to deliver accurate, effective and profitable space plans that deliver the best revenues and assist with the execution of the category strategies.

    •     Identify potential improvement areas and recommend new developments for the space planning and other related systems and processes
    •     Ensure collaboration with teams and promote capability through training and upskilling sessions to ensure outputs are sustainably embedded into operation requirements 
    •     Adhere to systems and processes to ensure optimal merchandising techniques are used to create the best planograms for categories as required
    •     Ensure availability and accuracy of data analysis to ensure support of informed decision making, with a view to influence categories, improve returns on space across the categories of space planning and ensure impact delivery of optimised space plans.

    What you’ll be doing

    • Ensure business support and Procurement process governance and adherence for all tenders and waivers by documenting, recording and reviewing the required steps as per the Group Procurement Policy and Procedures and obtaining the required approvals in terms of the limits of authority for tenders and waivers to ensure that tender and contracts register is regularly updated.
    • Perform the role of Tender Board (TB) Secretariat by coordinating list of TB members, arranging meetings and recording minutes of meetings and follow-up on action items to ensure smooth process flow.
    • Provide effective support to the Procurement team through arranging meetings with internal and external stakeholders (line managers, suppliers, executive committee) and providing administrative support to ensure effective and smooth implementation and execution of Procurement strategic goals and objectives.
    • Manage and report on departmental and CPO spend through analysis of data and expense reports to ensure spend is within the budget limits.
    • Ensure availability and communication of accurate information through preparation and distribution of minutes, reports to ensure adherence to corporate governance.
