    Data Privacy Associate

    The Position

    • Roche Diabetes Care in Midrand is seeking a Data Privacy Associate on a 18 month fixed term contract, to be responsible for advising on the legal responsibilities regarding compliance with national and international privacy laws and data security.

    Accountabilities

    Accountability: Strategic direction & governance

    • Provide Assistance in setting the data privacy strategy, as well as the privacy risk and control threshold for the organization.
    • Assist in driving compliance to all data privacy laws and regulations and address these requirements early on in new technologies.
    • Develop and oversee the application of data privacy policies and standards and maintain these annually.
    • Enable compliance with data privacy regulations and foster a data protection culture within the organization.
    • Pro-actively conduct data protection impact assessments for the Group’s products, projects and processes.
    • Provide guidance on data privacy risk management with key stakeholders and suppliers.
    • Partner with organization and Technology to ensure data privacy issues are considered at the outset of new projects, products and initiatives.
    • Monitor the evolving data privacy regulatory landscape to keep visibility on trends, and best practices to adequately address current policies or standards.
    • Inform and Monitor the organizations Data Privacy risk appetite and changes to it.
    • Assist in the develop and maintaining an appropriate operating model to ensure that the data privacy policy requirements are implemented with adequate oversight from the Global Privacy Office.
    • Assess the risk on all requests for dispensations, waivers and breaches, and escalate to the Global Privacy Office for consideration.
    • Participate in investigations, reviews, approvals, incidents and exceptions to address matters impacting the risk

    Accountability: Oversight & reporting

    • Monitor compliance with data protection regulations and organization policies
    • Continuous engagement with the various regulators and keeping up to date with data privacy regulations.
    • Support the data incident response and data breach notification procedures
    • Timeously validate and respond to data subject requests received at local level and from Global Privacy Office
    • Provide assistance in overseeing data privacy incident and breach procedures and response, including investigation, documentation, reporting, maintenance of records and the implementation of corrective action.
    • Oversee the development and/or implementation of training on the policies and standards to deliver compliance and to foster a data privacy culture.
    • Assists in the management of and reporting on the status of data privacy risk to internal and, where relevant, external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies.

    Accountability: Stakeholder management

    • Act as an ambassador with colleagues, regulators and other stakeholders with a view to establishing a leading function within the organization.
    • Be registered with relevant regulatory or professional bodies
    • Advise stakeholders on the management of relevant data risks, by participating in product/project/change approval and review processes.
    • Ensure that proactive and risk-based advice is delivered through effective partnership with others at all levels – the front-office and other infrastructure functions.

    Education And Experience Required

    • Degree in Legal or NQF Level 6 Equivalent (3 - 5) years’ experience in Compliance, Data Risk Management

    Core Lab Specialist

    The Position

    • Roche Diagnostics in KZN is seeking a Core Laboratory Specialist who will be responsible for meeting market demand, managing working capital components of inventory and reducing supply risks, leading the team to deliver stretch targets and continuously improving processes to achieve company growth targets.

    Among other duties, the role will entail:

    Business Accountabilities

    • Assist Key and Account Managers in the execution of the account strategy & business objectives.
    •  Identify new opportunities to further grow our business.
    • Ensure Roche remains in a strong position as incumbent supplier with the aim to extend contracts.
    • Identify gaps in customer & Roche business processes (such as supply of goods; correction of instrument breakdowns) and seek to solicit remedies  from internal and external stakeholders

    Technical Accountabilities

    • Adherence to Client Service Level agreement deliverables & ensuring commitments are met by internal & external stakeholders.
    • Maintain high level of customer engagement with regular updates and feedback. Identify gaps & suggest possible interventions.
    • Providing first-line trouble-shooting on applications issues & maintaining logs in Clarify.
    • Faciliate efffective instrument maintenance by ensuring customer-accountability where required (eg. daily maintainance; logging calls through Roche UK Call Centre) & Roche where required (preventative maintenance and breakdowns).
    • Provide cross-team technical assistance and support as and when required.
    • Lead more complex diagnostic technical challenges with full engagement with customers to achieve customer SLA requirements .
    • Plan and facilitate Applications customer workshops, training, and improvement in quality control measures.
    • Ensure effective and timely communication of Product Notifications.

    Process Accountabilities

    • Conduct workflow analysis and efficiency interpretation of the lab, identify gaps and areas for improvement. Facilitate improvement with internal stakeholders and Roche.
    • Ensure adherence to relevant instrument's manufacturing standards for maintenance, installation and upgrading plans according to customer needs.
    • Ensure efficient communication between the customer and Roche.
    • Address any challenges within scope of authority; accountability and customer relations.
    • Carry out continuous improvements on processes / systems / operations.

    Coaching Accountabilities

    • Identify super-users in the laboratory and together with Lab Management (under their lead) identify possible further training & development opportunities.
    •  Actively collaborate with colleagues & the laboratory by sharing technical insights and experience on instruments where expertise has been gained.
    • Train and support lab technologists

    You, as an ideal candidate, will have the following skills, experience and education:

    • Required Qualification: ND in the Medical Sciences (NQF 6). A Medical Sciences Degree or BTech would be preferred.
    • At least 4 years experience in laboratory practices in Chemistry/Immunology or Haematology or Coagulation or Serology or Hospital point of care.

    IT Support Specialist

    What you’ll be working on:

    Operations:

    • Monitoring and keeping the service level agreed with the business, for Onsite support (Incidents and Requests fulfilments, according to ITIL best practices).
    • Reaching top ratings on customer satisfaction for End-User Services, Ensures that end users and Local management are satisfied with IT support and services received.
    • Supporting the timely implementation of Global/Regional IT  initiatives at the site.
    • Providing support & guidance for onsite services (e.g. events and meetings). Drive the user experience and promote best practice.
    • Interfacing with and supporting the IT Areas with infrastructure strategy and activities.
    • Providing Local, Regional and Global support for IT projects.
    • Ensuring the timely implementation of Global/Regional/Local initiatives and IT projects.
    • Proposing opportunities to optimise our service delivery using Global guidelines as a reference.
    • Supporting incident and request management and measuring performance against agreed SLA’s.
    • Managing service providers and vendors that we use to deliver services, including contract management and service reviews.
    • Leading and delivering global/local network infrastructure, telephony, workplace, client hardware and employee experience projects and deployments, including the measuring of success and adoption of these solutions.
    • Managing and maintaining the hardware inventory end to end process.

    • Ensuring compliance to Global standards at a Local level.
    • Constantly evaluating actual needs and reflect them in the forecast events.

    This challenging role requires the following qualification & experience:

    • Must have BA or BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline or recognition of prior working experience which is equivalent. 
    • 3 to 5 years’ experience in providing onsite and/or remote technical support to end users in PC and Mac environments with experience across multiple domains. 
    • Experience with a proven track record of running high performing environments, and professional experience in the area of operational IT services in multiple fields of technical experience.
    • Understanding of Roche-supported operating systems, devices and applications,  including the Google Suite of Applications, MS Office, etc. would be an advantage.
    • Knowledge of network concepts (e.g., TCPIP, Windows/Mac Networking, Wireless,  Ethernet). 
    • Must have a good understanding of web conferencing and mobile technologies, and an  understanding of audio-visual equipment as it relates to PC/Mac platforms. 
    • Experience with the Service Now ticketing system and troubleshooting hardware /software /mobile devices. 
    • Excellent working knowledge of the ITIL Incident Management processes in an IT  service delivery environment.
