    Programme Information

    • Our graduate programme is designed to contribute to your development primarily as follows:
    • Through our customised onboarding programme, we will settle you into Santam within the first 100 days and set you up for success. You will be immersed in a series of accredited learning assets covering areas meant to anchor you in your journey of 24 months, while we expose you to the latest curated online content addressing our DNA embedded in five Santam core competencies.

    Electives – Exposure to technical areas of specialisation in shortterm insurance as required by your future role, all along being supported through subject matter experts and oneonone coaching as you endeavor to cement your development through business informed learning projects.

    Programme Duration:    24 months (2 years)

    What criteria makes you eligible to apply?
    We are looking for exceptional young talent (between the ages of 22 – 30) who want to make a difference.

    •    Applicants must be in possession of a degree in the following fields:
    1.    Insurance/Risk Management/Law
    2.    Actuarial Science/Tax/Marketing
    3.    Mathematics/Statistics/Data Science
    4.    Finance/Accounting/Economics
    5.    Chemical / Civil Engineering
    6.    Computer Science/Information Technology/Human Resources
    7.    Agriculture/Hydrology/Geomatic

    Client Service Consultant

    What will you do?
    Santam Operations, Personal Lines Contact Centre, have a career opportunity available for a Client Service Consultant based in Auckland Park. 

    A Client Service Consultant is responsible for the provision of new quotations or the execution of policy specific amendment requests,
     while adhering to underwriting criteria and profiling the client. The Client Service Consultant is furthermore responsible for advising clients on all aspects of their policy needs.
     

    What will make you successful in this role?
    This role is focused on, but not limited to; servicing broker requests, including enquiries.

    •     Execute broker request within agreed timeframes, quality standard and legislation guidelines;
    •     Dealing with issuance of new policies or policy maintenance amendments;
    •     Dealing with general insurance and policy specific enquiries or sales thereof;
    •     Managing client expectation on expected turnaround times for submitted requests;
    •     Ensuring and delivering accuracy of broker requests;
    •     Providing effective, efficient and professional service to all clients both telephonically and/or through written correspondence;

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    •     Matric
    •     FAIS compliant: NQF level 4 consisting of a minimum of 30 credits
    •     Minimum 2 year Personal Lines contact centre experience in a short-term insurance environment
    •     Experience in a client service environment
    •     Experience in contact centre technology applications
    •     Good understanding of basic financial principles, e.g. profit, growth, etc.
    •     Good understanding of contact centre processes and SLA’s 

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS 

    •     Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    •     Excellent interpersonal skills, collaborating with internal colleagues and external stakeholders/clients
    •     Ensure adherence to quality, compliance and accreditation standards

    Programme Information

    • The Santam Learnership Programme is an entry-level transformation initiative aimed at building a sustainable pipeline of talented people who will support business in meeting its objectives by addressing the present lack of skills within the financial services sector.
    • A qualification, coupled with the FSCA regulatory exams RE5, will allow learners to apply for professional membership of the Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA) in the designation category of IISA Member (MIISA).

    Programme Duration: 12 months

    Location: Nationwide

    Start Date: 1 March 2022

    What criteria makes you eligible to apply?

    •     ONLY Applicants in possession of a Grade 12 Certificate with:
    •     Minimum pass mark of 50% in English and a Second Language
    •     Minimum pass mark of 40% for Mathematics or minimum pass mark of 60% for Mathematics Literacy
    •     South African citizen
    •     Unemployed
    •     Between the ages of 18 - 28
    •     Applicants must not be studying with any other institutions while on the Learnership
    •     Applicants must not have been on a Short -Term Insurance Learnership through INSETA
    •     Persons with a disability must produce a medical note confirming the nature of the disability
    •     Applicants must not have more than 1 year work experience
    •     People studying towards or in possession of a post-matric qualification (e.g. Higher certificate, National Diploma, Degree, Honours etc.) will not be considered for the programme
