    Principal Technical Support Engineer

    A bout the Job

    You will be working as Principal Technical Support Engineer and will be the part of Electrification business area for Services division based in Longmeadow, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to Local Division Manager ELSE and will be responsible to provide technical assistance to internal and external customer and ensure timely and cost-effective support in accordance with standard processes, procedures and safety guidelines.

    Your responsibilities

    • Applying safety rules and safe practices as well as environmental responsibilities, reporting unsafe practices, behaviors and incidents, ensuring customer retention by delivering superior customer experiences, supporting most complex technical support cases and keeping track of clusters of recurring issues
    • Contributing to customer satisfaction by executing support work according to customer expectation, having a clear understanding of sense of urgency and care in the direct area of responsibility and knowing how to communicate with customers
    • Identifying technical problems and analyzing them through communication with customers and remote connections to assets (when applicable) for a large range of services and products in which they are certified to perform
    • Coaching technical support engineers, acting as a technical consultant for system-level/application specific issues in own specific area of expertise, proactively planning and executing work on a first-time right approach with customers and ensuring the job is done on time and on quality
    • Preparing all documents and customer reports to be acknowledged by the customer representative, utilizing all relevant support and reporting tools to document work, according to the global end-to-end processes
    • Executing wrap-up and follow-up (when needed) of support cases in a timely manner, ensuring learnings from on-going support cases are used to create/update knowledge documentation
    • Identifying improvement needs and potential solutions for them in the way of working and the products in question and drives improvement actions in own area of responsibility, working under pressure, record keeping of current work in progress, keeping up to date with acts and solutions

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s Degree in B.SC Electrical Engineering / Electrical Qualification
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in Experience LV switchgear, automation, logics will be an advantage
    • Fluency in English language is mandatory

    Sales Specialist

    About the Job 

    You will be working as Sales Specialist, reporting to Sales Manager for Motion business area, IEC LV Motors division based in Modderfontein, South Africa. You will be responsible for building long term customer relationships and managing resolution to specific customer needs and issues.

    Your responsibilities

    • Establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand customer needs, promote customer understanding of full product / systems / services offering, and aligning to provide a solution
    • Selling products / system to customers, focusing on volume, mix and profitability targets for assigned Business Units / Product Groups
    • Performing regular status reviews and proposing recovery plans in cases of potential order shortfalls
    • Identifying and driving the development of new market opportunities in the designated market and ensuring know-how sharing and cross-collaboration
    • Managing administrative procedures in sales processes and supporting collection and project management activities when needed
    • Monitoring customer and market trend and communicating with global or regional team to get required support to develop business

    Your background

    • National Diploma / University Degree (Engineering background preferable)
    • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in sales or engineering related field to demonstrate capability to achieve business results
    • Experience of business development with sales records for new customers/markets is preferred
    • Market and products specific knowledge of motor products compulsory
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills

    Marketing & Sales Manager - ELSE

    About the Job

    You will be working as Marketing & Sales Manager and will be the part of Electrification business area for Service division based in Longmeadow, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to Area Sales Manager and will be responsible to lead and develop the service sales team to exceed the sales targets through high performance in order to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, develop and ensure successful implementation of the service sales strategy nationally aligned with global service priorities and local strategic direction, to profitably achieve qualitative and quantitative targets

    Your responsibilities

    • Creating, planning and implementing service sales strategy by increasing the installed base (IB) penetration, effectively utilizing ServIS (the approved Service database), promoting value add service product offerings supporting Life Cycle Management (LCM), developing and implementing a growth strategy for channels and channel partners
    • Achieving service sales volume by ensuring the team sells entire service portfolio, participating in negotiations of major contracts to secure service sales volume, ensuring achievement of service sales targets, providing cost effective solutions to the customers and initiating improvement plans as needed, growing digital service offerings
    • In collaboration with the service sales team generating and identifying service sales leads by analyzing the IB potential and targeting those new IB opportunities from emerging trends with the service solutions available, determining account and acquisition plans to support growth, developing a long-term depth of pipeline and recurring opportunities, seeking to expand service revenues via channel partners
    • Establishing long term customer relationships with key customers and decision makers by understanding the requirements, regulations and exhibiting high expertise in technical solutions and products, ensuring customer satisfaction issues are registered and responded to by team, supporting the team by participating in sales activities when needed
    • Responsible for feedback on sales development, distribution of resources for service sales activities and the current status of the market, collaborating with business units and account teams to position different service offerings, evaluating and sharing relevant information on installed base data, sales leads, customer’s and competitor’s solutions and marketing trends with the team
    • Monitoring client financial status and reporting any changes regarding risk to relevant internal partner teams, identifying and managing potential risks relating to contract agreements across customers/channels, driving health and safety practices in own unit

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
    • Minimum 10 years experience in the low voltage and medium voltage market
    • Sales and marketing understanding, general knowledge of customer products, applications and processes, excellent skills in customer relations with mature selling behavior and actively drive discussions and negotiations
    • Good knowledge in contract and risk management, understand and use sales processes and related tools, knowledge of health and safety procedures and relate to ABB
    • Ability to identify customer service needs and to match those with ABB service offerings, ability to find innovative solutions to meet customer requirements, ability to accurately estimate costs of service offerings, takes steps to share and leverage cooperation and knowledge across the organization
    • Willing to travel local and international
    • Fluency in English language is mandatory
