    Touring Financial Accountant

    • As a member of our Centre of Excellence Team, you will play a crucial role in fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning within our organization. You will collaborate closely with various departments to identify areas for improvement, develop best practices, and provide support to ensure successful implementation of initiatives.

    KEY OUTPUTS:

    Daily Responsibilities

    • Liaising with suppliers and reservations managers / consultants and all other relevant parties to resolve any queries
    • Review and release of payments on the different banking platforms
    • Bateleur Club: daily management and processing of Bateleur Club transactions
    • Bateleur Club: provide financial support for relationship managers and reservations teams
    • Daily finance queries – act as Finance liaison to the Sales, DMC, Commercial Teams, as well as the rest of the Finance team regarding any queries that may arise.
    • Ensuring compliance to company policies including AML and FICA
    • Checking and approving refunds and commissions in line with the Refunds, AML and FICA policies.
    • Continuous review of internal controls

    Weekly Responsibilities

    • Adhoc functions to ensure the efficiency of the Touring Team
    • Preparing bank reconciliations and resolving queries
    • Bateleur Travel: processing and reconciliation of credit card transactions 
    • Bateleur Club: reconciliation and clearing of Bateleur Club suspense account transactions.

    Monthly Responsibilities

    • Tourplan financial period close as per deadlines and established processes
    • Revaluation and review of all bank reconciliations
    • Preparing and reviewing Balance sheet recons
    • PTJ: reviewing of regional stock sheets
    • PTJ: processing of stock movement according to stock sheets
    • PTJ: investigating stock write offs
    • VAT calculations, submissions on e-filing and resolution of queries
    • Bateleur Travel: preparation and review of revenue
    • Bateleur Travel: quarterly revenue recons
    • Bateleur Club: reconciliation of Member statements
    • Bateleur Club: calculation of Relationship Managers commissions
    • Bateleur Club: preparation of monthend schedules
    • Bateleur Club: monthly expiries
    • Management account preparation and review
    • Accurate monthly and quarterly forecasting
    • Budgets: prepare, implement and maintain
    • Audit: participate in intermediate/ yearend audits, and internal reviews

    • WeExpense: loading of credit card statements according to specified timelines

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    • Payment and Reconciliation Review: Review and authorize supplier reconciliations and payments (including foreign suppliers).

    General Manager

    KEY OUTPUTS:

    • Overall responsibility for the effective management and operations of Phinda Forest Lodge, Phinda Vlei Lodge, Phinda Homestead and Phinda Bayete Camp (Phinda North Lodges).
    • To ensure high levels of service excellence in accordance to &Beyond standards are not only maintained, but further developed and entrenched.  
    • Drive community development projects in conjunction with the Wild Impact and provide requisite skills and support to ensure effective effort.
    • Develop strategic relationships with local stakeholders including governmental organizations, wildlife organisations and communities, surrounding and involved with Phinda Private Game Reserve.
    • Create and maintain a detailed skills development plan for all staff.
    • Responsible for creating an environment where the &Beyond Golden Thread is continuously met and visible throughout the daily functioning of the lodges.
    • Create an overall strategy and prepare annual business plans for all Phinda North Lodges for each financial year and then oversee implementation thereof within specified time frames and budgets.
    • Overall Day to Day Management of the Phinda North Lodges and related infrastructure within the reserve.
    • Overall Responsibility for budget creation and management, CAPEX structuring, planning and implementation.
    • Ensure all group internal financial controls and systems are in place and strictly adhered to.
    • Overall responsibility for all human resources in the lodge, ensuring all labour relations, leave and medical funds are managed correctly.
    • Create annual and monthly training plans for all departments and structure external training and exchanges with other lodges/ regions where possible.
    • Monitor all lodge operational stock orders and oversee procurement function between the BuyDesign team and the Phinda North Lodges.  
    • Create individualised lodge strategies to enhance guest delight, staff development and welfare, health and safety and associated training programmes. Ensure plan is implemented and managed throughout the year.
    • Work with Executive chef to ensure menu and food are aligned to lodge quality standards and requisite guest food scores and food budgets are being met and monitored.
    • Work directly with the Lodge Managers, Assistant Managers, Head Ranger, camp managers and respective Departmental Managers to ensure &Beyond Lodge and service standards are maintained at all times and ensure costs and budgets are managed and not exceeded in order to meet regional goals.
    • Daily meeting with the management team and Heads of Department to discuss the daily plan, including arrivals, departures, maintenance, food, special requests, bush banqueting.
    • Over and above daily hosting of guests ensure you host all Agents, Media and VIP Groups.
    • Oversee the maintenance and development of all Phinda North Lodge related infrastructure.
    • Co-operation and collaboration with Phinda Game Reserve Conservation management teams.
    • Co-operation and collaboration with Inkwazi Ranger Training Team.
    • Ensure effective co-operation, collaboration and support with Phinda South Lodge teams.

    KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED (QUALIFICATIONS OR TRAINING PROGRAMS)

    • 3 - 5 years minimum of &Beyond Management Experience in operation of similar size and complexity.
    • Management degree and/or hospitality and service training.

    Camp Manager (Phinda Mountain Lodge)

    OUTPUTS

    Relief Travel Specialist

    KEY OUTPUTS:

    • Overseeing relevant teammates desks; while consultant is on leave (be it sick or annual) or on educational – they will be required to step in and handle the consultant’s desk in full, managing requotes and any ongoing proposals.

    Global Concierge

    • The service will include a pre, during and post travel support ensuring guests and trade partners receive a bespoke and care free travel experience. The in country support service will operate seven days a week.

    Assistant Head Ranger

    OUTPUTS:

    Executive Chef

    OUTPUTS:

    • Kitchen Hygiene standards set
    • Responsible for training chefs & implementing kitchen standards.
    • Correct chemicals and sufficient cleaning materials to be in stock at all times
    • 7 day Menu set according to Food Styling Guide and approved by &Beyond Food Fundi
    • &Beyond Training chef to be called on to do training if necessary
    • Presentation as discussed and according to Styling Guide
    • Up to date with What’s Hot & What’s Not for &Beyond Food
    • Through the Tummy of the Guest Bops
    • Creative Bush Banqueting according to Food Styling Guide
    • Proactive Maintenance
    • Good communications with: All chefs; All camp managers; HOD’s, Lodge Manager and suppliers
    • Good stock controls and stock rotation
    • Good administration and personnel files to be kept according to Lodge Manager’s requirements.
    • Responsible for all food orders, storerooms and fridge and deepfreezes
    • Left-over management: left-overs to be discussed and processed every day
    • Vehicles and containers transporting food to camps to be spotless
    • Checklists of all items going to camps in place
    • All food going out to guests at any time to be checked by chef
    • Chef to check buffets/dinner/breakfasts etc. at each camp at least 3 times per week
    • Minimal traffic through kitchen: kitchen staff, Exec chef and Lodge manager to enter through kitchen. 
    • All fridges and refrigerators and storerooms to be kept locked or keys to be left with an accountable Chef.
    • All menu’s need to be costed and kept within the COS, overs need a valid explanation with detail as to why there is an over and solution given on how to correct
    • Sound knowledge of PANSTRAT
    • Implement and follow all COVID protocols
    • All meals and platters to be put out at last minute – fresh, fresh, fresh!
    • Quality and quantity of snacks to game drives to be checked
    • Bush banqueting, drink stops, picnics etc. to have checklists
    • Canteens organised
    • Good interaction with Guests, Food Fundis and other & Beyond Chefs:  Invite feedback, exchange ideas; be suggestion-friendly; share experience
    • Good discipline and fair treatment:  Exec Chef to be a Role Model
    • Be aware of & make your chefs aware of special dietary needs Guests.

    SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • Communication skills - with guests and fellow staff members
    • Standard of your work must exceed the standard of the lodge
    • Good organisational ability
    • Lateral thinking ability

    • Must adhere to World Class Hospitality and Service Standards
    • Honest, have good integrity, proactive and driven person who has career ambitions

    • Valid unendorsed SA driver’s license essential.

    PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Experience in the service industry especially in dealing with guests and staff

    Ranger

    OUTPUTS:

    • Conduct two three-hour game drives daily
    • Conduct 1 one-hour nature walk daily
    • Host guests at selected mealtimes
    • Conduct guest transfers
    • Record daily sightings, temperatures and rainfall figures
    • Contribute to data collection for the Munyawana Private Game Reserve
    • Be able and willing to assist with habitat work from time to time
    • Attend and participate in meetings
    • Health and Safety Responsibilities
    • Work safely at all times, complying with health and safety and other relevant regulations and guidelines
    • Check and identify any potential hazards in the workplace and take appropriate action to minimize the risk from them
    • Report any hazards identified and any actions you have taken
    • Perform any other reasonable task as requested

    KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED (QUALIFICATIONS OR TRAINING PROGRAMS):

    • DEAT Registered and up to date
    • Be in possession of a valid Professional Driving Permit
    • Minimum of FGASA Level 1
    • SAPS Competency Certificate for a firearm
    • First Aid
    • Successfully completed the andBeyond Inkwazi training course
