    Assistant Manager, Engineering - Belfast

    PURPOSE:

    • To direct and co-ordinate operational aspects through project life cycles to ensure optimum performance according to Life of Mine, business requirements, organisational objectives and sound engineering practice.
    • To provide support to Manager, Engineering to optimize performance of equipment through operational and maintenance processes, methods and technology of assets.

    Asset Management    

    • Ensure availability, reliability and cost optimisation of assets
    • Ensure asset management alignment to business strategies
    • Value adding to business asset management
    • Ensure effective life cycle management of assets through application of Physical Asset Management (PAM) principles and Reliability Centred Management (RCM) principles

    Compliance, Governance and Assurance    

    • Establish an effective methodology of business operations, communications and control whereby statutory compliance and appropriate mitigation of risk is achieved
    • Ensures compliance to sound engineering standards to quality
    • Develop operating procedures to align with business objectives
    • Ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act, Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA), South African National Standards (SANS) and compliance with company specific Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) policies and procedures
    • Manage risk and monitor standards
    • Create awareness and assume responsibility for SHE practices

    Continuous Improvement    

    • Initiate continuous improvement initiatives leading to cost saving opportunities whilst keeping abreast of new developments within specialist field
    • Liaise with other departments toward evaluating new technologies to improve process capabilities, product quality and throughput requirements
    • Implement Theory of Constraints (TOC) principles to optimise process capability and asset management

    Senior Legal Specialist - Commercial

    PURPOSE:

    • Provide legal guidance and support to the Group Manager Legal and Compliance and the organisation to support Exxaro’s commercial activities.

    • Aid the process of obtaining and renewing licenses, permits, and approvals required for mining activities.
    • Handle legal disputes, claims, and litigation matters that may arise while mining operations. This includes assessing the merits of legal claims, engaging with external legal counsel when necessary, and representing the company's interests in dispute resolution proceedings.
    • Conduct legal due diligence for potential acquisitions, partnerships, or investment opportunities related to mining projects. This includes reviewing legal documents, identifying legal risks, and providing recommendations to senior management.
    • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on legal compliance and commercial best practices.
    • Conduct legal research and analysis on various issues related to mining law, contract law, and corporate law. This may involve analysing case law, statutes, regulations, and legal opinions to inform decision- making and strategy development.

    PURPOSE:
