Job Purpose
- Lesaka Merchant is looking for a Senior Manager: Transformation and Training to lead the design and implementation of large-scale transformation, organisational change, and capability development initiatives across the Merchant Operations Division.
- This role is responsible for driving strategic transformation programmes that support the adoption of new technologies, data-driven decision-making, artificial intelligence, operational processes, products, and systems, while developing a future-fit workforce capable of succeeding in a rapidly evolving fintech environment.
- The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enabling business strategy execution, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and equipping employees with the skills, mindset, and agility required to thrive in a volatile, uncertain, complex, and ever-changing world.
Key Responsibility Areas
Transformation & Training Strategy and Value Enablement
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Transformation and Training Strategy aligned to the Merchant Operations Division's strategic objectives.
- Bridge the gap between technological innovation and workforce readiness through targeted capability-building initiatives.
- Position the Transformation and Training function as a strategic enabler of organisational agility, speed, and growth.
- Secure appropriate funding and resources to deliver transformation and capability development programmes.
- Embed the One Lesaka vision, values, culture, and customer-centric mindset into all transformation and training initiatives.
- Measure programme success through business impact, behavioural change, cultural outcomes, and return-on-investment metrics.
Transformation & Training Processes, Systems and Business Rules
- Design and implement transformation and training processes, systems, governance frameworks, and business rules.
- Develop scalable learning and development frameworks aligned to legislative and equity requirements.
- Maintain transformation and training documentation, standards, and quality manuals.
- Develop and manage annual training calendars and capability-building roadmaps.
- Ensure transformation and learning initiatives remain flexible and responsive to changing business requirements.
- Leverage the National Qualifications Framework and industry best practices to maximise learning outcomes.
Stakeholder Management & Alignment
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Partner with business leaders to identify and prioritise transformation and learning requirements.
- Facilitate alignment and collaboration across functions to support change initiatives.
- Participate in supplier engagements and procurement activities relating to transformation and training services.
- Collaborate with Operational Facilities teams to ensure appropriate learning and event infrastructure is available.
- Maintain a database of strategic training and transformation partners.
Transformation & Training Delivery
- Design and deliver transformation programmes across strategic, operational, cultural, behavioural, digital, restructuring, and merger-related initiatives.
- Develop innovative learning interventions that support emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, automation, and data-driven operations.
- Deliver training through a blended learning approach including digital platforms, virtual classrooms, workshops, coaching, self-paced learning, lunch-and-learn sessions, and community forums.
- Support ongoing mandatory and operational training requirements across multiple functions.
- Drive organisational change initiatives that build resilience, adaptability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure employees are equipped to navigate disruption, embrace innovation, and capitalise on growth opportunities.
People Leadership, Capability & Team Performance
- Lead and develop a high-performing Transformation and Training team.
- Ensure appropriate workforce capacity and capability to meet business needs.

Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Information Technology, Human Resources, or a related field.
Minimum Experience
- 3–5 years' experience in Management Consulting, Corporate Strategy, Human Capital Development, Learning & Development, Organisational Change, or Operational Transformation.
- Experience within consulting, fintech, banking, financial services, or similarly fast-paced environments.
- Proven experience leading large-scale transformation and organisational change initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience overcoming resistance to change in cross-functional and high-growth environments.
- Strong stakeholder management experience, including engagement with senior executives.
- Proven ability to identify capability gaps and develop transformation and training roadmaps.
Certifications (Advantageous)
- Certified Change Management Practitioner (Prosci, CMP, or equivalent)

- Complete Input of daily MIS information to Head Office
- Complete weekly returns
- Collect, deliver and distribute mail
- Routine personnel administrative duties, general office, finance and administration
- Receive stock from Head Office for distribution to branches
- Receive of faulty merchant equipment from Branches for return to Head Office
- Daily liaison with head office regarding all Merchant Acquiring related issues
- Perform fleet management
- HR related queries for staff (Salaries, medical aid etc.)
