    Technical Infrastructure Support Officer

    The role:

    • We are looking for a Technical Infrastructure Support Officer who is highly skilled in internal technical support, and team operations within an educational context.
    • The Technical Infrastructure Support Officer is an enabling role that is tasked to ensure that all technical aspects, maintenance and day to day operations associated with the company are fit for purpose, efficient and firmly integrated into the day-to-day activities of the team. In working very closely with the Technology Team, as well as various team members within the business, the key measure of success is the achievement of operational excellence that supports a top quality learning experience.

    Day-to-day responsibilities include:

    • Manage team member onboarding and offboarding process, including but not limited to hardware setup, maintenance and asset tracking.
    • Device Setup and Purchasing, including software account installation, taking pictures of device condition, tracking device provisioning
    • Act as the initial point of contact for all computer and system related concerns from team members
    • Handling logistics of device handling and shipping to remote employee base
    • Manage detailed reporting listing requests for technical assistance, steps taken to resolve them, and the specific dates/individuals involved
    • Assist with the operational maintenance and team usage of various systems
    • Assist management in creating training materials pertaining to computer troubleshooting and usage
    • Create and manage documentation pertaining to warranties and instructional guides for computer hardware.
    • Providing onsite support, troubleshooting and maintenance at our physical campuses when needed
    • Resolve technical issues related to network interruptions
    • Actively update, maintain and monitor all aspects of computer networks
    • Reporting on the efficiency and quality of technical support
    • Supporting in the technical implementation and maintenance of any third-party technologies
    • Providing input on and supporting product development through research, user testing and analysis

    Requirements

    • Must have their own stable internet connection.
    • A bachelor's degree in computer science or related technology field is preferred
    • Industry-specific certification in relevant computer languages or software may be required
    • 1-3 years of relevant experience in a customer focused position involving technical knowledge of a company' s products and services
    • The ability to work from standard and compliance benchmarks
    • Strong familiarity with the Google Suite of products (Calendar, Drive and Office suites)
    • Technical expertise in both Windows and Apple Mac technologies
    • Experience working with Salesforce is a plus, but not essential

    Strategic Partnerships Intern

    Requirements

    • What’s needed from you is an ambition to grow your business development skills and apply them in a fast-paced, ever-changing industry. Given the startup nature of what we are doing, we explicitly value speed to decision making over perfection, and we take a “fail fast” approach to learning and improving.
    • Furthermore, a desire and openness to receiving and providing feedback is important as you look to improve your skill set and we look to improve our business processes and our offering. A hunger and desire to learn on the job and contribute in a meaningful manner will be a huge asset. Ideally someone with an Undergraduate degree in Business Management or Marketing and an interest in startups would be most suitable.
    • During your internship, you will report to the General Manager who will coordinate your involvement within the business development department including the acquisition and nurturing of new and existing partnerships. The General Manager will be your go-to on progress tracking and communication.

    Senior Learning Designer

    Description
    The Senior Learning Designer role at Valenture Institute is primarily responsible for curating, augmenting, creating, and quality assuring secondary school course content and assessments that are suitable for high-touch online delivery. The incumbent will play a vital role in ensuring that the development of content across subjects is relevant to the learning cohort, of high quality and developed within the required timelines and the scope of the project. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
    Responsibilities:

    • Use the relevant subject-level specifications to ensure that content meets the required examination standards, and determine the adequacy or inadequacy of content.
    • Conduct planning and analysis per subject area to recommend appropriate design solutions and strategies for online delivery.
    • Analyse the characteristics of Valenture’s learning management system (LMS) and emerging technologies and use the unique affordances of these technologies to make design decisions.
    • Transfer and re-develop content from textbook books, journals, web resources, as well as other related educational resources into a richly augmented format that meets online delivery objectives.
    • Work with subject matter experts and collaborate with production specialists to create targeted content in a wide variety of mediums to complement or support the curriculum.
    • Design and create targeted continuous assessment strategies that support students in their progression towards their summative examinations.
    • Work with project management and various operational stakeholders to ensure that deadlines are adhered to and that project communication takes place in a timely and effective manner.
    • Work on evaluation strategies to review the effectiveness of a design strategy, and review content at set intervals as part of Valenture’s approach to continuous improvement.
    • Perform quality assurance on Learning Designers’ work across subjects and qualifications.
    • Line manage, capacitate, and motivate a team of Learning Designers.
    • Champion a culture of learning among Learning Designers by coordinating and facilitating capacity development workshops.
    • Contribute to departmental process improvements.
    • Assist with recruitment and the onboarding of new recruits.
    • Develop innovative pedagogical and blended online learning approaches in collaboration with the Learning Design Manager and Head of Product
    • Identify appropriate tools and software to improve the delivery of qualifications on the online learning campus.
    • Develop course outlines, guidance documents, templates and policies.
    • Research and resolve content ambiguities based on incomplete or inaccurate information.
    • Refine learning design quality assurance framework.
    • Support the Learning Design Manager with day-to-day departmental functions as requested.

    Requirements

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Education, Project Management, Instructional Design, PGCE or related experience
    • Proven skills and experience in learning design and the development of student-centred digital learning experiences and resources
    • Knowledge of digital learning principles and practices, as well as current and future trends in digital technologies
    • Demonstrated project management skills in the development of digital content for online courses
    • Exercise discretionary judgment and negotiate for positive outcomes
    • Ability to spot and communicate risks
    • Stable internet connection required
    • Having your own laptop would be an advantage but is not a requirement
