    Requirements

    Data Support Services Engineer (Level 3)

    The ideal candidate is an experienced DBA and D ata W rangler , who enjoys working ‘under the hood’ of SQL Server, optimizing data base systems for maximum efficiency and availability .
    The Data Support Services Engineer will support our Production Teams, software developers, database architects, and Infrastructure layer, to ensure optimal performance and maximum uptime for the business.
    They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data base needs of multiple teams, systems and products.
    The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of managing and optimizing or even re-designing our company’s data base architecture to support our next generation of products and data base initiatives.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain the performance of Internal and Production D atabase servers within company SLA .
    • Diagnose and troubleshootSQL Server service outages as they occur , with an emphasis on effective communication, R oute cause I dentification and s olution tracking .
    • RoutinePerformance tuning of D atabase systems .
    • Set andhelp maintain D atabase standards.
    • ManageD atabase access and assist with d evelop ing processes for optimizing database security.
    • Ensure allD atabase back up strategy meet s the business’s Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO)
    • Create automation forrepeatable, mundane D atabase tasks.
    • Build, Configure, and M anage new D atabase Instances, including version Upgrades.
    • Create and manage D atabase Projects, R eports and Documentation , visualizations, and dashboards when required.
    • Review, r ecommend , and POC , with the chance of implement ing emerging D atabase technologies.
    • Scheduled Operational support (Hotseat), including after hourson-call support as required.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • We are looking for a candidate with 5+ years of experience in a DBA Engineer role, who has attained and a dvanced working knowledge of SQL Server and its methodologies .
    • Computer Science degree and or MCSA/MCSE (SQL) accreditation.
    • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Build processes supporting SQL Server Environments , there dependenc ies and workload management.
    • A successful track record of Supporting and Managing SQL Server , including HA .
    • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
    • Strong technical project management and organizational skills.
    • Knowledge of Cloud computing/solutions.

    Key Requirements

    • Able to work in fast paced pressure environment
    • Understanding of databases, ability to query data
    • Automation testing experience, including designing, coding and execution

    Secondary Skills

    • Basic understanding of Postman or similar tool
    • Ability to troubleshoot

    Key Responsibilities

    • Completes all necessary task administration & documentation related to the project's implementation
    • Develop and refine plans, templates, strategy and re-estimate workload requirements
    • Follows prescribed processes and workflow
    • Follow up on deployment and live testing Improvements documented, implemented and communicated Participation in sprint or post Project review
    • All defects found are logged and Communicated to relevant stake holders
    • All unresolved defects are reviewed with stakeholders, according to status before sign off
    • Maintain Defects throughout its Lifecycle: entry, checking, retesting, regression, update status, closure, review, removed duplicates according to best practices
    • Completes sign-off procedure
    • Completes Test Cycles/Sprints
    • Create/Update/Refactor Test Cases / Artifacts to ensure that all necessary scenarios are covered in the designed tests, using applicable Test Techniques
    • Escalates delays in planning
    • Identifies and engages with stakeholders
    • Identifies risks and plans contingencies based on similar projects or past experience
    • Continuous Environment monitoring and troubleshooting of issues
    • Proactively Supports Management/Team/Lead
    • Mentoring and Coaching
