Experience Requirements

• Technical knowledge of Epiroc Surface Rotary Blasthole Drills
• 2 years of mining experience
• Advanced RCS Troubleshooting Skills
• Trimble High Precision GPS Experience
• Automation Implementation expertise will be advantageous.
• Proficient in troubleshooting all drill systems
• Good interpersonal skills
• Computer Literate
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint)
• Good planning and organizational skills
• Ability to work unsupervised at Epiroc standards
• Valid driver’s license

Educational Requirements

• Grade 12 with a suitable trade qualification
• Technical Qualification, N4 and/orN5 and/or N6 or equivalent

Communication

• Submit comprehensive daily Site Reports.
• Timeously report on safety issues to relevant Epiroc and Customer personnel.
• Submit weekly machine performance report
• Formal email communication when required.
• Timeously respond to customer inquiries

Roles & Responsibilities

• Development of CAS L9 Solutions for Legacy Epiroc Equipment
• Testing and verification of solutions by Epiroc Product Company as well as against local Mine Health and Safety Council (MHSC) regulations and Framework
• Engage and manage suppliers involved with the development and testing of CAS L9 Solutions
• Develop the necessary Section 21 (HIRA’s, Manuals, Installation Guides, Training) documentation for the developed solutions
• Hand over of commercial solution into the business

Requirements

• Engineering Degree in either Mechanical/Electronic/Mechatronics Engineering
• Experience with Collision Avoidance Systems (CAS) Level 9 maintenance or implementation (Advantageous)
• Knowledge of ISO 21815-2 Communication protocol, Good understanding of CAN Bus Networks (SAE J1939, ISO 21815-2) and machine electronics
• Strong Communication Skills (Verbal, Written)
• Ability to Troubleshoot in a systematic and structured manner, electrical and software related issues
• Engaging with customer on implementation of CAS L9 and Operational Readiness
• Project Management and Implementation of CAS L9 at various sites in line with National and Mine Specific Regulations
• Support with product development and bug/exception fixes related to existing CAS L9 Products
