    Proposal Manager - Cape Town

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    Marketing

    • Assist Department Manager in sale of services and Business Development.
    • Follow up on a regular basis with clients that have received proposals.
    • Advise on requirements for marketing material.
    • Maintain a database of cost information.
    • Compile proposals.
    • Maintain client database.
    • Initiate Client contact.
    • Maintain knowledge on new techniques / technologies through continuous professional development.

    Operations

    • Assist operations at project start-up in preparation of project budgets and cashflows.
    • Advise operations on specific aspects that need to be considered on projects.

    Financial

    • Provide information for Profit Plan.

    Administration

    • Maintain tender files.

    Specific Additional Duties

    • Actively participate in adherence to and improvement of the Company Management System on Quality and HSE related issues.
    • Identify potential technical, commercial, HSE risks for each tender.
    • Perform project risk analysis if potential risk is identified.
    • Request HSE specifications from client.
    • When applicable, be available for temporary substitution of other positions in the company.
    • Implementation of Company Policy.

    Principal Working Relationships

    • Work with Department Manager in submission of proposals and prequalification documents to a professional standard.

    Education and Experience Requirements

    • M.Sc. or B.Sc. level.
    • Min. 5 years in survey industry.
    • Min. 3 years’ experience in project management.
    • English language.

    Hydrographic Surveyor (CATB)

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    Operations

    • Assist Party Chief with the execution of given work and tasks
    • Organise own work in given cases
    • Execute given work in accordance with specifications, procedures and work practices
    • Assist and if applicable processes data, carries out computations and compiles survey reports in given company format
    • Check work of subordinate staff
    • On occasions is expected to liaise directly with client
    • Actively participate in implementation of QC procedures in the field environment.

    Financial

    • Assist the Party Chief, Project Manager and/or Operations Co-ordinator in maintaining expense accounting
    • Account for own project and business related expenditure.

    Personnel

    • Advise superior on subordinate staff performance
    • Assist with training and advising Trainee Surveyors.

    Administration

    • Assist with maintenance of field survey administration and field filing system in accordance with work practices
    • Ensure time spent on projects is properly accounted for
    • Ensure expense accounts are correctly completed and accounted for
    • Assist with field related expenditure reporting.

    Specific Additional Duties

    • Actively participate in adherence to and improvement of the company Management System on Quality and HSE related issues.

     Education / Experience Requirements

    • B.Sc. level or Diploma in surveying or survey related education or sufficient oil field related experience
    • Conversant with computer operation and a basic knowledge of application software
    • English language.

    Accounts Payable Assistant

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join Fugro.

    • This position, reporting to the AP/AR Supervisor, is responsible for invoice processing and supplier master data management.
    • The role involves ensuring all work is performed to the highest quality and professionalism in line with the company's Integrated Management System and project-specific documentation.
    • The successful candidate will identify personal training needs, communicate them to the department manager, and take full advantage of provided training opportunities. They must ensure all activities prioritize health, safety, environmental protection, and pollution prevention.
    • Key tasks include posting invoices, verifying correct coding, VAT, and approvals, processing changes in master data with proper authorization, handling
    • AP-related questions from external suppliers and Fugro entities, and continuously seeking improvements in AP processes.
    • Additional responsibilities include assisting with month-end close duties and other tasks as necessary, following the Fugro FSSC process model.
    • Essential attributes for this role include proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, the ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines, attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, initiative, and a results-oriented mindset.
    • Desirable attributes include previous relevant work experience and experience with IFS.
