    Broker Consultant (Eastern Cape)

    Role Objectives

    • Develop and maintain effective business relationships with brokers to attract develop and retain profitable business in the Eastern and Southern Cape Region.
    • Effectively market related insurance products and services.
    • Contribute to the growth and profitability of the Trucking Division and Hollard. Enhance the image of the division through effective marketing of the Trucking product, Hollard Risk Services and Hollard Highway Heroes.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Underwriting/Risk Analysis: Analyse qualitative and quantitative data prepared by brokers to discern acceptable risk selection and the subsequent acceptance of cover within mandates and in accordance with the underwriting guide.
    • Recommend alternative structures with regards to underwriting.
    • Grow and Maintain a profitable portfolio by implementing sound underwriting, with a focus on new business, retention and corrective action.
    • Sales and Marketing: Sell Hollard products to brokers using consultative selling techniques.
    • Contribute to effective marketing of the Company products by answering questions, resolve problems and explaining new or revised products and processes.
    • Make regular product training presentations to brokers.
    • Account Management: Meet goals for new business targets within divisional mandates and guidelines.
    • Financial Management: Assist in forecasting and budgeting.
    • Operational Management: Develop and maintain a Branch and broker visibility plan / visitation programme

    Required Knowledge and Experience    

    • Good knowledge of Commercial insurance with at least 5 years’ experience including;
    • Heavy Commercial Vehicle Product knowledge experience advantageous
    • Insurance terminology
    • Basic rating principles
    • Risk assessment knowledge
    • Market knowledge (including competitors)
    • Underwriting
    • Credit Control
    • Claims procedures
    • Reinsurance market, reinsurance and treaties
    • RE Advantageous
    • NQF Insurance qualification advantageous
    • Highly motivated self-starter, able to operate independently

    Educational Requirements    

    • Short-Term Insurance Specific NQF 5 qualification
    • Bcom degree/diploma or similar qualification would be advantageous.

    Business Analyst - Parktown

    Job Advert Summary    

    • The Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for a full range of activities which ensure the operational effectiveness and excellence of Hollard. The BA is the main link between business and IT and as such must have skills within both areas. Strong communication skills are required to elicit requirements, deliver solutions and resolve issues. The BA will be required to work on multiple projects concurrently and manage his/her time effectively. A friendly outlook on life with a can-do attitude.

    Key Responsibilities

    Process

    • Analyse and define Business requirements
    • Produce Business Requirements Specification (BRS)
    • Produce accurate mapping of “As is” and “To be” processes
    • Assist in identifying project risks
    • Produce User Acceptance Test Cases and Scenarios and assist with SIT and QA testing
    • Track delivery of requirements and provide regular, continuous and accurate feedback to project management team
    • Participation in and sign-off of user acceptance testing, pilot and production testing
    • Produce User Stories (when required)
    • Assist the development teams with sprint planning
    • Run team standups

    • Adhere to set process standards

    Required Knowledge and Experience    

    • 3 or more years Business Analysis experience
    • Experience in Insurance industry preferred
    • Some experience with programming (Python, .Net, SQL)
    • Some experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
    • Some experience with SQL
    • Experience with agile/scrum teams
    • Business analysis methods, practices, and techniques
    • Business process modelling and mapping
    • Understanding of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) or any other workflow tool
    • Proven track record of successfully implementing technology projects

    Business Risk Manager - Parktown

    Job Advert Summary    

    • To drive the implementation of the enterprise risk management framework for Hollard Life as it relates to operational risk and supporting Hollard group risk frameworks and policies.
    • This is a risk and control governance role where the incumbent will be responsible for oversight and reporting of operational risks for Hollard Life and its Partners. Operational responsibilities will include managing the Business Risk Specialists team, risk prioritisation, facilitation of risk and control self-assessments, risk incident reporting and providing risk reports to BU management and group risk.

    Key Responsibilities

    The Business Risk Manager will be responsible for:

    • Driving the implementation of the enterprise risk management framework with the relevant key stakeholders
    • Planning, coordinating, and directing risk assessment and risk prioritisation efforts in collaboration with the GRC Business Assurance, Compliance and Legal teams
    • Administration and maintenance of a risk management system platform to enable formalisation of the Hollard Life risk universe, alignment of risk to business objectives, key risks and controls
    • Development and embedment of appropriate key risk Indicators to support relevant risk monitoring and management activities
    • Drive identification of BU and Partner channel specific risk exposures that require focussed or thematic risk management interventions
    • Assess the adequacy of the risk mitigation initiatives identified by BU management in addressing high risk
    • Managing productivity, capacity requirements, resource allocations and ensuring that the Business Risk Specialists have the required competencies to execute their duties
    • Overseeing the quality of the work output of the Business Risk team
    • Guiding, supporting, coaching and mentoring Business Risk Specialists
    • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with Stakeholders                             
    • Active participation in relevant BU meetings or forums highlighting potential and materialised risks
    • The design and documentation of value adding risk reports for portfolio view of risks, analysis of root causes, analysis of new, emerging and changing risks, trend analysis, key performance indicators and measures, risk incident reporting and tracking enterprise risk management plans.

    Required Knowledge and Experience    

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Risk Management (and/or Operational Risk Management) in Financial Services industry of which 2 years at a management level.
