    Engineer: Signalling Technology Operations

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job

    • The Signalling Technology Operation Engineer will form a part of a highly skilled group of technical experts who are responsible of technical management of the MTN Global connectivity infrastructure especially the signaling and roaming setup. he will organize, coordinate, and supervise signaling peering and international Roaming technical activities (configuration, testing and support) in line with the overall business objectives of the company.

    Key Performance Areas:

    Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPA's)
    The Engineer: Signalling Technology Operations will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:

    • Manage and support Signalling peering (Diameter, SS7) and security (Signaling Firewall) with MTN Opcos and SCCP carriers and Roaming Hub.
    • Manage International Roaming (Technical Coordination).
    • Ensure departmental and special project implementation with stakeholders in timely manner (e.g. planned expansions, upgrades, migrations, swaps, new services).
    • Manage signalling and Roaming performance and Quality monitoring as per MTN Group standard (General service KPIs, Capacity monitoring KPIs, operational KPIs).
    • Ensure customer satisfaction through effective support (requests, complaints, incidents, problems, change management) and resolve all escalated operational issues in a timely manner.
    • Ensure service availability by keeping the roaming and signalling database updated and consistent to avoid service disturbance.
    • Prevent and address any potential revenue leakage identified on Roaming & Interconnect areas.
    • Business Continuity Management by implementing the Group BCM Redundancy solution for critical links and node.
    • Develop Policies, Processes & Procedures: Analyze the existing procedures and propose new ones to enhance quality and productivity. Develop and maintain effective processes to ensure effective interface with Customer Care, Marketing, Sales and Finance Departments.
    • Manage risk by clearing audit findings (internal, external).
    • Provide inputs for departmental CAPEX/OPEX budgets elaboration and support its execution.
    • Produce the periodical reports of the Department on schedule

    Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)
    Education:

    • Minimum 4 Year bachelor’s degree in equivalent specialization MSc, MBA is a plus.

    • Minimum five (3) years in GSM environment

    Senior Manager: Network as a Service

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
    The Senior Manager: Network as a Service will form part of a highly skilled group of commercial, technical and financial experts who are responsible for developing, nurturing and growing the MTN network sharing strategy and ambition.

    The role will be responsible for all MTN network sharing transaction deal scopings and commercial construct definitions. This includes elements of network sharing depth identification and selection (geography, technology, equipment), operating model development and cost allocations/ deal commercialization. This role will also provide expert guidance and consultation to all network as a service project teams on requirements for successful deal implementation, modelling, enablement gaps and recommendations to address them.

    The role will ultimately lead all network sharing transaction design, technical implementation planning and support as well as deal commercials structuring and best practice.
    Key Performance Areas: Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPAs)
    The Senior Manager: Network as a Service will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:

    • Develop the technical strategy for Network as a Service (NaaS) commercialisation
    • Support the delivery of central network sharing function and OpCo network sharing business plan and objectives in partnership with MTN OpCos
    • Track/ Benchmark network sharing transaction technical best practices and approaches
    • Identification and documentation of all interworking and governance principles which need to be considered in a network sharing transaction to arrive at a successful end state
    • Support and provide guidance to in-country network technology and utilization assessment and forecast to assess site utilization ( pre and post deal) and associated upgrade cost to network
    • Support in-country technical enabler assessment to identify gaps and provide recommendations to ensure successful technical implementation of future networks sharing deals
    • Make strategic recommendations to in-country network sharing project teams to improve technical readiness, technical response and implementation success
    • Perform detailed network assessment in each MTN OpCo based on transaction activity to identify and recommend network sharing depth for transaction
    • Perform detailed operating model and cost allocation study in each OpCo to arrive at clear deal governance and recommended commercials for each network sharing deal in partnership with in-country team
    • Detail all network sharing transaction special and exit condition considerations
    • Drive and manage the deal technical and commercial interworking guidance/ recommendation socialization and sign-off process at Group
    • Drive and manage interface with OpCo network sharing project teams to support socialization and sign-off of deal technical and commercial interworking guidance/ recommendations
    • Provide detailed deal technical and commercial interworking principle updates to key leadership and within key leadership forums
    • Monitor and report on all network sharing transaction implementation status
    • Ensure mentorship of in-country network sharing project teams on network sharing technical and commercial best practice
    • General project planning, coordination and delivery support

    Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)
    Education:

    • Minimum 4 Year Academic Degree in (Telecommunications Engineering or associated engineering field)
    • Masters or Post Grad Degree in (Engineering) as an advantage

    Experience:

    • 8+ years telecommunications technology, networks and IT experience (network sharing transaction expertise would be advantageous)
    • 3+ years managerial experience or experience working in a consulting environment.

    Senior Manager: Data Analytics, Data Sciences and CCM

    Manager: Operational Risk

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job

    •  Accountable for working under the guidance of the Senior Manager: Risk Management (ERM) to implement and monitor the established Enterprise Risk Management programme and methodology for their area, within established Enterprise Risk Management standards, frameworks and solutions, in accordance with both internal and industry benchmarks.
    • The ERM team works in a matrix approach, as, such, work may be under the direct guidance/supervision from the leadership team within ERM.
    • The primary purpose of the job is to conduct detailed risks assessments and/or risk deep dives, analyses, and monitoring of remediation across all possible internal and external risks.

    The role will also be accountable for reporting to the business on risk management processes, in line with Enterprise Risk strategy and best practices, offering specialised advice and recommendations, where necessary.

    • Ultimately, the role is responsible end-to-end to assist in identifying risks faced by MTN (current and anticipated), prioritising risks depending on its material impact and working with Senior Management and other leaders within the business to mitigate these as effectively as possible.

    The Manager: Risk role will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:

    • Work, in conjunction with internal business stakeholders and the broader ERM team in the execution of Enterprise Risk assessment and reporting plans, in alignment with the overarching Enterprise Risk roadmap
    • Assist various areas (i.e. Financial, Operational, Strategic and Compliance, Technology, Products and Projects) to identify internal and external risks, develop possible mitigations and coordinate and monitor the implementation thereof
    • Approach risk assessments for identified risks in a methodical way to ensure that all value-adding activities within the organisation are evaluated effectively and effectively define all the risks following from these activities
    • Assess risks, following structured standard procedures, but drawing upon practical models and techniques
