    Strategic Sourcing Analyst

     Role Purpose  

    • RCL FOODS is searching for a Sourcing Analyst with a strong Commercial background to join our Group Services Division. This position will be based at our National Office in Westville, Durban and report to the Sourcing Manager. The purpose of this role is to support the Sourcing Manager to strategically source, negotiate, manage and evaluate Group contracts within a specific category, as well as to facilitate increased contract coverage and spend across the Group within the category.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Degree in commerce/finance, supply chain management or a related field
    • 3-5 years’ experience within a sourcing and commercial management environment
    • Demonstrated knowledge of economic indicators, cost drivers and cost analysis
    • Demonstrated experience in project management
    • Confidence to interact and work in cross functional teams
    • Valid Code EB drivers' license

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Strategic Support

    • Working with the Sourcing Manager to develop category strategy, sourcing exercises and general spend analysis.
    • Partner with the Business and external service providers to determine business needs and apply professional sourcing and category management methodologies such as vendor rationalisation, utilising technology and flexible solutions to enhance user experience and minimise financial impact.
    • Develop short, mid and long term strategies for the various sub-categories ensuring delivery at the most competitive cost.

    Operational Management

    • Source new items and suppliers based on the specifications provided by the Business by researching industry/commodity trends.
    • Supplier market interaction and obtaining samples for testing.
    • Produce reports and present information to relevant Functions to highlight potential sourcing or saving opportunities and update the Sourcing Manager on actions where applicable.

    Market Analysis and Forecasting

    • Evaluate market conditions in order to develop sourcing strategies, maintain/improve quality and influence cost controls.
    • Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities.
    • Effectively communicate with internal cross functional teams on the current and future status of products and services markets.

    Supplier Management

    • Evaluate and ensure potential suppliers are capable of meeting the specified requirements.
    • Negotiate the lowest possible cost for the products and/or services balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.
    • Negotiate commercial terms & conditions
    • Compile SLA’s
    • Monitor Supplier performance against SLA’s.
    • Maintain positive Supplier relationships.

    Technical Expertise

    • Provide ongoing advice and support on best practice to ensure continuous improvement in category contract sourcing and vendor management.
    • Develop specialist knowledge on assigned category and identify opportunities to deliver best value solutions and make recommendations on preferred strategies to the Sourcing Manager.

    SAP Enablement

    • Work with the master data team to ensure the SAP master data related to the procurement category is accurate and up to date.
    • Arrange for all new catalogues and suppliers to be promptly loaded on the SAP system.

    Management Accountant

     Role Purpose  

    • RCL FOODS is seeking a Management Accountant to join the Animal Feed business unit, based at our Depot in Pretoria. The purpose of the role is to provide management accounting support and insight to internal stakeholders. The Management Accountant would need to perform regular cost review, generate weekly product costing reports and compile a monthly report with appropriate explanations for the monthly management accounting pack. The position also entails ensuring costing integrity and assisting in the compilation of Capex motivations and other irregular requirements.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • B.Com with Cost and Management Accounting or a relevant 3 year tertiary qualification
    • Working experience on SAP is Essential
    • Experience with SAP Product costing would be advantageous
    • Adv MS Excel will be advantageous
    • Experience in Manufacturing or FMCG will be advantageous

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Co-ordinate effective stock counts and maintain Governance over the stock count process
    • Verify stock counts on raw materials and finished goods with Production teams
    • Generate the stock variance reports on SAP and investigate major variances (theoretical vs physical) prior to posting
    • Close production orders in SAP on a weekly basis and investigate /follow up on major deviations with the
    • Own the standard costing process at mill level including quarterly BOM updates in SAP
    • Review costing during the quarter for changes to product costs and new product proposals
    • Investigate production orders with high variances and implement corrections where necessary
    • Maintain the BOMs in SAP for the mill and liaise with technical managers on integrity of the BOMs in SAP
    • Be the custodian of fixed and variable costs at the mill
    • Monitor & evaluate high value expenditure eg labour , transport ,maintenance and electricity charges
    • Prepare the monthly management accounting pack and supporting schedules including reporting of variances
    • Chair weekly mill meetings with key internal customers to discuss performance, focus areas and action plans going forward
    • Assist in the compilation of CAPEX forecasts
    • Assist with capex motivation and initiate workflows for mill capex
    • Conduct ad hoc projects and feasibility studies in respect of product profitability
    • Report and or escalate any areas of non-compliance appropriately
    • Compile and submit Mill Business Plan (BP) with assistance from Mill managers according to approved templates
    • Provide Sales Regional Managers with product cost analyses for price changes to customers
    • Support internal & external audits

    Management and control over consignment stock

    • Provide commercial insight for projects aimed at getting new business.

    SHEQ Controller

    The Role

    RCL FOODS is seeking a SHEQ Controller to join our Logistics Division. The role will be based in Durban (Thekwini) and report to the SHEQ Executive. RCL FOODS is looking for an incumbent to provide Total Integrated Management System support to the Supply Chain, to implement and manage all food safety, quality, safety, health and environmental requirements for the regional operations and to constantly assess compliance with the most progressive food safety, quality, safety, health and environmental standards in the market and with Group policy.

    Requirements

    • Relevant degree or diploma in Quality Management, Food Technology, Microbiology or Environmental Health
    • Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in a FMCG environment with preferably 3 years in an auditing role
    • Valid Code EB drivers' license
    • FSSC 22000 (GFSI) Food-Safety management systems implementation and maintenance
    • COVID-19 OHS management systems and compliance

    Maintenance Planner

    The Role

    We at RCL FOODS are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Planner, reporting into the Plant Engineer and based in Hammarsdale. The Maintenance Planner is responsible for assisting the production and engineering departments to continuously improve their overall equipment effectiveness, by implementing and administering effective asset management systems and procedures, particularly in the areas of information management, work planning & control, performance measurement, maintenance tactics and spares & materials through the effective delegation and management of available resources

    Responsibilities

    Engineering Planning

    • Administration and planning of maintenance activities (includes assistance with maintenance schedules & co-ordination)
    • CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) implementation, optimization, management and system administration (includes day-to-day activities such as client software support and training)
    • Ensuring continuous asset management improvement through organizing of training for engineering personnel
    • Analysis/Interpretation of maintenance history and feedback report preparation (should include an analysis of all AMiP KPI’s and suggested actions)
    • Drawing, documentation and modification control
    • Motivate and control the engineering planning department workforce, maintain discipline, minimize absenteeism and
    • Ensure that the team is adequately staffed based on careful consideration of utilization and work backlog information.
    • Management of workforce disciplinary issues and proper documentation of each case.
    • Management of performance measures for the personnel under the position’s control
    • Assisting in the continuous improvement, optimization (schedules reviews) and implementation of preventive maintenance tactics (usage-based, time-based, etc) via processes including OMM and root cause failure analysis.
    • Management of the engineering planning office and the equipment, documents and tools within it

    General

    • Performance assessment of team members
    • Training & development of employees under his/her supervision
    • Meetings (daily & monthly) with the plant’s key personnel (engineering & production) to plan work, transfer information, make decisions and agree on action plans.
    • To ensure effective administrative systems and procedures are being maintained and improved.
    • Assisting the further implementation, optimization and management of the Asset Management Improvement Program (AMIP)
    • Ensuring that all personnel under the control of this position abide by the health & safety regulation.

    Requirements

    • Completed relevant technical qualification/ diploma
    • Minimum of 5 years' strong engineering/ maintenance/ manufacturing experience in a FMCG plant
    • 2 to 3 years' supervisory experience
    • 2 years' industrial purchasing experience
