    Senior Telco Solutions Architect

    The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Senior Telco Solutions Architect for a telecommunications (telco) customer to join us in Johannesburg, South Africa. In this role, you will work to support the account manager and the local telco sales teams to develop and promote our business within the account and develop opportunities, including presenting Red Hat’s offerings and technologies to partners and customers, delivering documents like blueprints and request for information (RFI) and request for proposal (RFP) responses, delivering proofs of concepts, performing project scoping, and presenting project deliveries. You will also help your customers invest in an infrastructure that will give them maximum flexibility and allow them to make their information technology (IT) services and telecommunications infrastructure faster and reliable by engaging, meeting, and demonstrating to the telco accounts that Red Hat’s solutions are matching their needs and expectations. As a Senior Telco Solutions Architect, you will collaborate with the business development team, account managers, and solutions and domain architects to define plans, tactics, and strategies to provide our customers with support for Red Hat’s technical solutions applied to telco.

    Primary Job Responsibilities

    • Evangelize the value of Red Hat’s solutions
    • Define, document, present, and demonstrate how the Red Hat portfolio of offerings can enable next-generation network architectures for telecommunications providers
    • Educate, enable, and support our presales and architect team partners to develop and deliver the Red Hat message and value proposition for and to the telco market
    • Partner with local teams to address telco customers and partners and their technical network teams; work with the sales team to gain market share
    • Work with the ecosystem to position Red Hat as a key strategic vendor for telecommunications and network functions virtualization (NFV) infrastructures like independent software vendors (ISVs), network equipment providers (NEPs), telecommunications, cloud providers, integrators, and hardware vendors
    • Guide or contribute to RFP and RFI responses and projects for telco and NFV customers
    • Communicate and work with Red Hat’s Products and Technologies (PnT) product managers, product marketing managers, and engineers, as well as the global corporate telco team
    • Propose solutions based on customer requirements and deliver solid business cases
    • Design value-driven architectures and present the application and return on investment (ROI) of these technologies
    • Share knowledge and findings to allow other associates from your team to learn from your successes and mistakes
       

    Required Skills

    • Excellent conceptual skills that can combine the complexity of today's telecommunications environment with the power of Red Hat’s software capabilities to define the potential of next-generation service provider and related ecosystem environments
    • Extensive industry knowledge and market insights; good understanding of current, new, and future technologies and business directions
    • Solid knowledge of IT technologies used in telcos, including VMware, KVM, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Linux, containers, Kubernetes, middleware technology, etc.
    • Understanding of the existing and new technologies used by the telecommunications industries, including 5G, internet of things (IoT), software-defined networking (SDN), NFV or operations support systems (OSS), and business support systems (BSS)
    • Familiarity with the language used in the telecommunications industry with regards to the carrier grade
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills in English

    Partner Account Manager

    The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Partner Account Manager to join us in Johannesburg, South Africa. In this role, you will develop and maintain relationships with strategic channel partners across South Africa while promoting Red Hat's solutions and services to customers through partners. You’ll be responsible for selling our entire suite of offerings. As a Partner Account Manager, you will identify, nurture, and close opportunities with partners, manage sales forecasts on a quarterly basis, and track commercial space customer data.

    Primary Job Responsibilities

    • Educate the partners on new Red Hat's offerings and solutions and communicate to them the value of our offerings in comparison to competing market offerings
    • Sell Red Hat's solutions in the field through and with our partners
    • Promote and recruit new potential Red Hat’s partners
    • Build agreed-upon business plans with the partners and ensure implementation of business plans based on defined metrics
    • Support partners to find, build, manage, and close their business opportunities
    • Build and guide relationships with management levels of partners
    • Own and meet a revenue quota; perform regular forecasting and overview about your assigned partners' opportunities
       

    Required Skills

    • 3+ years of sales experience, ideally working in distribution, or with partners or system integrators (SIs)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good presentation skills
    • Good negotiation skills with the ability to guide and close sales opportunities; experience with solutions selling methodologies
    • Ability to work with senior management and partner sales teams
    • Ability to work as part of a team while demonstrating flexibility, ability to work without direct supervision, and initiative
    • Experience building long-term relationships
    • Willingness to travel to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) events and training occasionally; additional planned travel to Sub-Saharan Africa may be required
