• Grade 12 
• Accredited academic qualification- in town -and regional planning (B-degree) At least 5 years’ relevant town planning experience
• Computer literacy (MS Office) 
• Valid code B driver’s license 
• Good communication and interpersonal skills 
• Strategic planning skills 
• Good communication skills in two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.

Duties will entail: 

• Town planning functions- Land use management 
• Facilitating and managing the processing of land use applications and appeals in a Town planning office 
• Management of subordinates 
• Municipal Human Settlement projects 
• Administrative assistance 
• Land use planning and By-law contraventions 
• General.

Minimum Requirements: 

• Grade 12 
• Basic Traffic Officer training qualification (Traffic Diploma) 
• Good Public Relations 
• Valid Code B Driving licence 
• No criminal record 
• Firearm proficiency 
• Good communication in at least two of the three official languages 
• Good interpersonal skills 
• Must be able to work under pressure and stressful conditions 
• 2- 5 years relevant experience 
• Grade B examiner of driving license will be advantageous.

Duties will entail: 

• Enforce Road Traffic Act, Act 93/96 
• Enforce Municipal By-Laws 
• Enforce
• National Land Transport Act, Act 5/2009 
• Educate Scholars 
• Regulate and Control Traffic 
• Attend and give evidence in court 
• Attend accident scenes 
• Perform escort duties.
