    Assistant Director: Manufacturing and Renewable Industries

    Requirements:

    • Relevant tertiary qualification (preferably a B-Degree in Business Management, Economics or related field).
    • Computer literacy in MS Office.
    • Five to eight years’ relevant experience. 
    • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing environment, logistics, renewable energy industries as well as the auto sector will be an added advantage.
    • Valid Code B driver’s licence.

    Job purpose:

    • This position is responsible for establishing and administering a program that focus on environmental, economic and social sustainability. 
    • The Assistant Director will work with internal and external contacts to develop policies, programs and oversee projects that benefit the long-term industrialization of the Nelson Mandela Bay economy.
    • The incumbent will be responsible for industry support and promoting investments within the manufacturing and renewable energy industry. This may include presenting opportunities in a wide range of manufacturing and renewable energy projects such as assembling, processing, wind farm development, small scale hydro, biomass, solar and tidal. Experience in the investment promotion environment including an involvement in development issues covering business cases etc is desirable.
    • As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.

    Environmental Health Practitioner

    Qualifications and experience required:

    • A National Diploma in Environmental Health.
    • Registration as an Environmental Health Practitioner with the Health Professional Council of South Africa.
    • A valid Code B driver’s licence.
    • Two years’ relevant work experience.

    Job purpose: 

    • Performing activities associated with increasing public awareness and understanding of environmental and development issues, such as individual rights and responsibilities, through providing information for the purpose of enhancing decision-making and to assist with the planning of sustainable development through conducting appropriate educational courses, seminars, workshops and presentations based on applicable environmental and conservation legislation.
    • As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.

    Draughtsperson (Projects)

    Qualifications and experience required:

    • A relevant tertiary qualification in advanced AutoCAD or advanced ArcView/ArcGIS course.
    • No experience required.

    Job purpose

    • Providing an electrical drawing/spatial information and support service to all users within the Electricity and Energy Business Unit to facilitate informed decision-making and to enable users to achieve their objectives and maintain statistics of all projects undertaken for management purposes.
