    6 month Contract only – candidates must be available to start immediately

    The Legal Officer should have a strong commercial, corporate, contracts and legal litigation background. The Legal Officer should be to with unsupervised and ensure fail safe systems to follow up on matters. Daily maintenance and reminder to Legal Head on issues that affect the department and organization. The Legal Officer will manage casework and legal matters and will overseeing case review and legal matters. The Legal Officer will contribute to objectives based on involvement in policy and procedural review, continuous improvement, research, and development etc.

    Educational requirements for Legal Officer:

    • LLB Degree or equivalent
    • Admitted attorney
    • 3-5 years post admission experience within a legal environment
    • Experience in company secretarial duties and regulatory compliance
    • Litigation experience essential
    • Drafting of pleadings, notices, documents without supervisor

    Duties and responsibilities of Legal Officer:

    • Strong administrative and managerial skills
    • Attention to deadlines and timelines
    • Produce monthly status reports on all matters within portfolio
    • Developer and manage legal assistance and casework
    • Undertake legal research in relation to allocated projects
    • Litigation in high court and magistrate’s court
    • Drafting of pleadings
    • Attending court/labour court/CCMA hearings
    • Liaising with counsel
    • Negotiating best deals/settlements
    • Assist with governance, compliance, risk
    • Drafting agreements, internal leases, contracts
    • Diary management of case and legal matters
    • Keeping attorney/office updated on court dates
    • Keeping records of all lease agreements
    • Typing documentation and pleadings

    Qualifications

    Kontak Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant post to be based in Pinetown, Durban, KZN. The Financial Accountant will support the financial decision-making information by collecting, analyzing, investigating and reporting financial data.

    Educational Requirements:

    • Completed Financial Degree
    • Completed articles
    • 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
    • Consolidation experience

    Duties and Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant:

    • Monthly processing of reconciliations, journal processing and reporting on management accounts
    • Budgeting, monitoring, and control
    • Creditors, cashbook
    • Prepare and process monthly revenue and debtors
    • Prepare monthly salaries and wages entries
    • Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement reconciliations

    Financial Manager (JB618)

    Job Description

    • Kontak Recruitment is recruiting for a Financial Manager vacancy based in Westville, Durban. The Financial Manager is responsible for all aspects of financial management, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures for all entities within the portfolio.
    • This role is focused on compliance of all entities with regards to the submission of all returns and timeous finalisation of the management accounts and annual financial statements
    • To oversee the day-to-day work of the finance team and be responsible for the effective use and deployment of staff and financial resources.
    • To oversee the axillary businesses where necessary until such time as it may warrant full time Finance role to support the specific businesses.
    • Advanced degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field. Qualified Accountant with relevant qualification and experience
    • Experience in the Consolidation of Group Financials (Caseware experience), preparation and finalisation of accounts in accordance with current South African regulation and regulations of other countries where necessary
    • Knowledge of strategic and financial planning including activity costing, benchmarking.
    • Experience in budget preparation and reporting.
    • Excellent computer literacy is essential.
    • Fully conversant with the current uses of information technology in the workplace and uses IT as a management tool.
    • Proficient user of finance software.
    • Knowledge of current practice of internal auditing Highly numerate and able to analyse statistical information and interpret financial data to produce reports which can be understood by non-financial colleagues and Banks.
    • Produce and distribute monthly management reports to agreed timelines Produce detailed quarterly cash flow forecasts in various business where necessary Produce financial reports detailing actual expenditure against forecast to agreed timelines Produce required financial reports for members of the Board Produce annual financial reports and statements to agree time frames to comply with the requirements
    • Develop annual budgets in collaboration with the Group CFO's where necessary Manage statuary requirements. i.e. SARS, Provident Fund and Medical Aid Providers where necessary, to set timetables.
    • Lead on tax planning, including VAT related matters if required.
    • Maintain current standing with all mandated local tax and benefits registrations and requirements, including submissions of payments and reports.
    • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements relating to financial control, financial management and accounting.
    • Ensure appropriate external audit arrangements are in place and manage the audit process to meet deadlines
    • Ensure that all balance sheet reconciliations are produced on an accurate and timely basis to include bank reconciliations, debtors, creditors, and inter-company accounts Ensure implementation and adherence to finance policies, procedures, and systems across all teams

    Qualifications

    • Advanced degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field. Qualified Accountant with relevant qualification and experiences
