    Management and Accounting Coordinator (Fixed Asset)

    Job Description:
    As a Management Accountant Coordinator (Fixed Assets);

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Liaising with the project office environments, asset management and finance departments within the company
    • Produce draft Schedule of Fixed Assets for management review and sign -off and secure said review and sign off
    • Update Schedule of Fixed Assets to reflect all changes of scope
    • Initiate capitalization of Assets at month end in terms of Asset - Capitalisation Schedule
    • Process Asset Transfer Notes and Asset Termination Notes
    • Collate Asset Register
    • Participate in stakeholder engagements
    • Prepare and distribute Asset Capitalization Schedule for completion and review at the monthly capital meeting
    • Produce and distribute the Fixed Asset Register, for review

    This role is in the Finance department at a band 6/10 level reporting to the Capital Management Finance Manager.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar

    • Proficient in financial systems and related legislation (IFRIS)
    • Advanced computer literacy, SAP

    Senior Project Manager

    Job Description:
    We are currently seeking to employ a Senior Project Manager to join our Anglo American Platinum family at our Corporate Offices in Johannesburg. This is a key role within the Stay in Business (SIB) Team where you will be responsible to: 

    • Coordinate all the activities associated from the concept phase through execution into closeout.
    • Manage all the projects within the controls principles.
    • Understand project scopes and dissemination thereof.
    • Implementation and the management of all the safety aspects of the projects.

    Qualifications:
    Required Qualifications:

    • A relevant degree, or higher, in a relevant engineering or technical discipline, is essential.
    • Certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP).

    Required Experience and Expertise:

    • A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in the successful delivery of mining projects, preferably within the Refinery/Smelter/Process environment is essential.
    • Working knowledge of PMBOK, Flowsheets, P&ID, and environmental impacts are essential.
    • Working knowledge of Anglo American practices and/or Investment Development Models (IDM) or similar industry similar practices and models.

    Other  Requirements:

    • Advanced Computer Literacy (MS Suite, MS Projects). SAP will be an advantageous.

    Tax Manager

    Job Description:
    We have an exciting position for a Tax Manager who will manage and ensure effective governance of all tax-related responsibilities, whilst providing effective tax advisory support to ensure that the Coal South African business meets all relevant statutory requirements.

    This is a key role within the Finance Team where you will be responsible for: 

    • Ensuring CoalCo’s adherence to all relevant tax legislation and requirements
    • Submit annual tax returns while minimising impact on other business functions and operations related to tax processes
    • Provide tax advice and support to the CoalCo Group, in such a way as to meet the statutory requirements while being consistent with the CoalCo business strategy
    • Take responsibility as regards the management of the CoalCo’s response to changing multilateral environment for tax, in particular as it relates to the development of tax policy on tax transparency, the tax risk and control environment and tax strategy generally
    • The implementation of the Board approved tax strategy and the management of the tax affairs for all managed companies in South Africa;
    • Manage relationships with all key stakeholders (internal and external) to understand and deliver on their service needs and resolve issues optimally
    • Provide tax advice on transactions, including M&A (acquisitions and disposals) and transfer pricing.

    This role is in the Finance and Business Development Department at a Band 5 level reporting to The Head of Finance and has 2 direct reports

    Qualifications:
    You will need the following:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance / Accounting
    • CA(SA) advantageous
    • Valid Drivers Licence

    You will need experience in the following: 

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial management, tax or management accounting
    • Good track record of coaching staff towards achieving organisational objectives

    Engineering Document Office Manager

    Job Description:
    We are currently seeking to employ an Engineering Document Office Manager to join our Anglo American Platinum family at our Corporate Offices in Johannesburg or the satellite office at Rustenburg.

    This is a key role within the Asset Reliability (AR) Team where you will be responsible to manage the Engineering Document Control Office (EDO) and service the operations as follows: 

    • The development, implementation, and maintenance of a modern engineering documentation solution.
    • Support the operations in the maintenance of the engineering documentation through the implementation of back drafting services.
    • Support projects (SIB, internal, and Capital) in terms of document standards, drawing frames, drawing numbers, and quality control of the final document submissions.
    • Plan and coordinate the entire electronic engineering solutions from inception of a project (concept phase) to mine closure and restoration.
    • Align, manage and integrate the various systems involved, e.g. COMOS, AssetWise, SAP, etc.
    • Be the owner of the area facility codes policy and drawing standards within Anglo American Platinum.
    • Control of the authentication process of engineering documents and artifacts.
    • Manage the storage of documents in a way from where various operations can accurately and conveniently retrieve documentation as required.
    • Ensure that managed documents are traceable.
    • Manage the digitisation of all AS&R documentation.

    Qualifications:
    Required Qualifications:

    • Relevant B.Eng, BSc or B.Tech degree (NQF level 7), or higher is essential.

    Metallurgist PMR - Temp

    Job Description:
    This role will support the technical operation of the Precious Metals Refinery (PMR) with technical advice and laboratory testwork, with a mix of pre-agreed, scheduled tasks and urgent priority-based tasks assigned by the Principal Support Role.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Supports the Principal PMR Support in maximising the value of Extractive Metallurgy services to Anglo American at all times providing health and safety is not compromised.
    • Supports the provision of relevant technical information to T&S, business units and operations to assist in driving value.
    • Completes a baseload of detailed technical investigations aligned to the strategic intent of the business unit operation, both at site and in the laboratory environment aimed at delivering a specified value for the business unit.
    • Delivers accurate and relevant reports to support the identification of current and future value adding opportunities.
    • Supports effectiveness and continuous improvement of the productivity and value contribution within the assigned tasks
    • Supports the provision of relevant technical information to T&S to assist in driving value.
    • Other than the baseload task assignments the metallurgist will remain on standby for adhoc task assignment requests by the Metallurgy Manager PMR Support to mobilise and support the PMR directly on site in urgent situations.
    • Ensures that SHEQ issues are considered in all activities.

    Qualifications:

    • MSc Chemistry, Metallurgical Engineering or Chemical Engineering with 3 years’ experience in processing or process development OR PHD in Chemistry, Metallurgical Engineering or Chemical Engineering, relevant to PGM and/or base metal hydrometallurgy/Processing, OR BSc Chemistry, Metallurgical Engineering or Chemical Engineering with 3 years relevant experience at precious metal or base metal refinery (Cu /Ni).

    Role-specific knowledge:

    • Experience/exposure to metallurgical operations through project work, research and development or operational exposure, over a period exceeding 3 years, would be considered essential
    • Prior knowledge of leaching, solution purification and metal recovery/separation technologies as applied across a range of commodities would also be considered as advantageous.

    Occupational Hygiene Assistant

    Job Description:
    Below are some key performance areas you will be required to perform as an Occupational hygiene assistant.

    Ensure that legal requirement, AAplc standard and policies are adhered to.

    • Conduct risk assessments, occupational hygiene (incl. public health) & ventilation measurements and participate in audits.
    • Conduct daily occupational hygiene & ventilation inspections and record findings.
    • Report findings and recommend appropriate interventions related to occupational hygiene & ventilation incidents and measurements.
    • Contribute to the achievement of the SHE objectives and targets of the Operation.
    • Sets daily, weekly and monthly ventilation management and occupational hygiene (incl. public health) routine schedules. 
    • Determines the need for, and assists in the development of ventilation management and occupational hygiene (incl. public health) procedures and standards.
    • Promote health and ventilation awareness.
    • Advises on changes to plans and schedules to minimise the effect of unexpected or unsafe work practices.
    • Report occupational hygiene (incl. public health) & ventilation incidents and participate in investigations and follow-up actions. 
    • Report writing.

    Qualifications:

    • Matric 
    • COM Intermediate Certificate in Mine Environmental Control (Essential)
    • Certificate in Basic Ventilation and Occupational Hygiene measurements

    Knowledge & Skills required:

    • At least 2 years working experience both in an occupational hygiene and ventilation management department within either mining or refining sector.
