    Internal Client Services - Executive Office - Senior Manager: Strategy

    Job Description
    Main Purpose of Job

    • The Strategy Senior Manager works within the Africa Strategy Unit to advance the development of the Africa Member Firm network and implementation of its strategies to achieve the growth ambitions of the Africa Member Firm.
    • The scope of the role is Africa wide and requires the incumbent to play a key role in the shaping and framing the key strategies of the firm, working with the businesses to translate these strategies and drive execution.
    • The Strategy Senior Manger reports to the Strategy Unit Director, with frequent interaction with the Deputy Chief Executive, Africa Executive, Clients and Industries, service lines, internal client service functions and other senior leaders across the Africa firm. 

    Qualifications
    Minimum Qualifications

    • University Graduate- Undergraduate degree with rigorous analytical and quantitative focus.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Qualifications in any of the following would be a distinct advantage:
    • Business Sciences
    • Business Administration (MBA or equivalent)
    • Finance
    • Engineering
    • Whilst not a strict requirement, a post graduate qualification in a management or numerate discipline would be an added advantage

    Minimum Experience

    •  Minimum 8 years working experience in a consulting environment

      Understanding of Strategy process and best practice – including strategy development, execution and communication

    Established, professional with strong strategy experience at management level

     Understand market structures, competition dynamics and client behaviours

    Desired Experience

    •  At least 5 years in a client facing management consulting role
    • Delivering complex, large scale projects - leading multiple streams and aligning stakeholders to achieve outcomes
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Financial Modelling
    • Working knowledge of the market, players and trends in Professional services
    • Concurrently deliver on portions of multiple strategy projects in a fast-paced, intense, results-oriented environment

    Risk Advisory - Data Analytics - Insurance Specialists

    Job Description

    • We are looking for Consultants and Senior Consultants to join our Deloitte Analytics practice. You will have the opportunity to work with our Insurance team in understanding and implementing the IFRS 17 accounting standard for our clients, from a data and systems perspective. While it is advantageous to have IFRS 17 knowledge, it is not a pre-requisite for the position; we are looking for strong data expertise. You must have a keen interest in the insurance space and a strong desire to gain the knowledge required to advise on and implement the data and solutions specific to IFRS 17.
    • Typical project tasks will include, performing gap analysis between client data and the data requirements specific to IFRS 17, performing requirements analysis, detailing client process and data flows, assistance in developing engineering pipelines, data management and analytics solutions.

    Technical Competencies

    •        Process and data flow mapping
    •        Documenting as-is and to-be High level solution architecture
    •        Data and systems impact assessment
    •        Data Management
    •        Data governance
    •        Data lineage
    •        Data gap analysis

    Qualifications
    Preference will be provided to candidates with bachelor’s degree or related qualifications/ experience such as:

    •        Information technology or business informatics
    •        Computer science or engineering
    •        Other relevant data and analytics qualifications

    Experience

    •       3 - 5 years practical experience gained within the Insurance industry, in Life and/ or General with exposure to Insurance processes, operations, data and innovation
    •        Experience in data projects (IFRS 17 highly advantageous)
    •        Demonstrated ability with assisting businesses in deriving value from existing data
    •        Experience with financial systems and processes
    •        Previous consulting experience will be advantageous
    •        Digital transformation experience will be useful
