    Social Media Strategist

    About you

    A mid-senior candidate who has exciting experience with leading digital content strategies and creators. You want to showcase and develop your marketing and leadership skills through application in the fast-evolving social media space. You enjoy travel, culture and wildlife, and you want access to amazing content in those areas. You’re not happy doing what’s always been done – you want to research, invent and test ideas in collaboration with other talented people.

    This is a new and unique role, best suited to an individual who is highly organised, able to communicate well, honest and empathetic.

    What you will do

    • Bring the latest insights, trends, and best practices to GVI as it grows its social reach and engagement
    • Craft strategies to maximise our audiences on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, with a special focus on rapid expansion on Instagram and TikTok
    • Stay on top of emerging and as yet unutilised platforms at GVI (like Discord) and be ready to launch quickly when it’s right
    • Research and advise on the best focus for GVI’s social presence – ensuring we are directing our efforts toward the right channels at the right time
    • Present your social strategy back to the business, showing specific insights into GVI’s customers and how you’ll work toward commerical goals
    • Guide your Content Producer to create content that meets your strategy and the niche requirements of social platforms and audiences
    • Guide your Community Manager to elevate GVI’s customer service on social – we want to build our community, not just respond to DMs
    • Support, train and advise GVI staff on social media best practices when required
    • Engage with GVI staff to generate content
    • Be passionate about all things GVI and content our audience is sharing, liking, recommending and talking about
    • Motivate and lead your social team through pulling and analysing data, and enjoying the pace of social channels where change is often required
    • Develop strategies to roll out major stories and campaigns
    • Collaborate with our Video Strategist to develop innovative approaches to social video including YouTube
    • Collaborate with the broader Marketing team to ensure social content is well-integrated into our marketing ecosystem and a repurposing strategy is in place

    What you will need

    • Extensive knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube as well as a familiarity with other current digital platforms Discord
    • Ability to lead a team and manage multiple requests in a fast-moving environment
    • Excellent attention to detail and understanding of how people interact with content on different social platforms
    • Excellent understanding of a Gen Z audience, specifically US/ UK
    • Excellent instinct to spot stories – able to jump on trends and conversations quickly
    • Great visual eye for briefing and reviewing design and video
    • Ability to write sharp, clean copy
    • Organised, efficient, and with good attention to detail
    • An appreciation for the complex issues that surround working in a social enterprise – you must be able to join conversations around conservation, social justice and identity politics among others in ways that represent GVI’s ethics

    Skills and qualifications:

    • 5+ years’ experience leading digital marketing campaign work and working with your own direct reports
    • An excellent portfolio of work
    • Extensive experience working in Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube
    • Degree or diploma in digital marketing, communication, advertising or similar
    • Experience with scheduling and reporting tools – social listening is advantageous

    Social Media Community Manager

    About you

    A mid-weight candidate who has exciting experience in creating digital and social media marketing content. You must be an ambitious digital native, comfortable working on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter – and curious about emerging platforms, too. You must be active on your own social accounts.

    You enjoy travel, culture and wildlife, and you want access to amazing content in those areas. You’re not happy doing what’s always been done – you want to research, invent and test ideas in collaboration with other talented people.

    What you will do

    • Be one of our internal experts on organic social media platforms, developments and trends
    • Bring the latest insights and best practices to GVI to help grow our social reach and engagement
    • Support the Social Media Strategist with the development of overarching social media strategies, specifically providing excellent input around community engagement and growth
    • Build, grow and manage online communities for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter
    • Stay on top of emerging and as yet unutilised social platforms and be ready to help develop a presence quickly when it’s right
    • Actively identify groups, pages, conversations, news and events that provide opportunities to engage GVI’s audiences – and be prepared to create that engagement quickly
    • Identify trending hashtags and influencers relevant to GVI and its brands, proactively driving dialogue with influencers and consumers within the community
    • Be immersed in our audience demographic – Gen Zers predominantly in the UK and US – so you speak their language authentically and create content that resonates with them
    • Be passionate about all things GVI and content our audience is sharing, liking, recommending and talking about
    • Research trends and tools in the social marketing space – eg proposing new tools for scheduling, social listening and monitoring, and customer service
    • Help develop GVI’s social listening strategy and own the implementation of it
    • Be proactive with suggesting and testing new content ideas and formats to help drive rapid growth and engagement
    • Uphold GVI’s ethics and values in all content you publish
    • Support, train and advise GVI staff on community management best practices when required
    • Support the Social Media Strategist in the creation of a strategy for employee advocacy
    • Engage with GVI staff to generate engagement
    • Identify and track relevant community data metrics – eg develop monthly reporting and outline key insights (monitoring conversation volume, reach, sentiment etc)
    • Improve and document GVI’s standards for community management and escalation processes
    • Collaborate with our support team to facilitate excellent customer service
    • Manage GVI Live content by coordinating a large distributed group of staff in GVI’s global bases, specifically:
    • providing training and support to staff as needed
    • overseeing and maintaining GVI Live documentation
    • facilitating and tracking the rollout of GVI live content across platforms
    • Proactively identify new ways to engage with potential partners in GVI’s social marketing space – eg suggesting potential PR partnerships on social media
    • Support the Social Media Content Producer with brainstorming and developing content when required
    • Support the Digital Marketing Intern with scheduling tasks when required
    • Work closely with the Social Media Strategist, Social Media Content Producer and Digital Marketing Intern to ensure GVI’s social presence is supporting our marketing goals

    What you will need

    Requirements:

    • Extensive knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube as well as a familiarity with other current digital platforms (eg Discord)
    • Excellent attention to detail and understanding of how people interact with content on different social platforms
    • Excellent understanding of a Gen Z audience, specifically US/UK

    • Ability to write professional, engaging copy

    • 3+ years’ experience working on social media campaigns with community management
    • Practical knowledge of how to manage social media channels especially with their unique characteristics

    Social Media Content Producer

    About you

    This is a new and unique role, best suited to an individual who is highly organised, able to communicate well, honest and empathetic. You will create and manage content for multiple social platforms and campaigns so you must be able to work independently, handling many tasks simultaneously, and collaborating within a team of ambitious and motivated creators. You should be willing to appear on GVI’s social feeds.

    What you will do

    • Be one of our internal experts on organic social media content, platforms, developments and trends
    • Bring the latest insights and best practices to GVI to help grow our social reach and engagement
    • Create content to maximise our audiences on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, with a special focus on rapid expansion on Instagram and TikTok
    • Collaborate with our Video Strategist to develop social video content, particularly for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube
    • Contribute to social media strategies to roll out channel strategies, major stories and campaigns
    • Stay on top of emerging and as yet unutilised platforms at GVI (like Discord) and be ready to create quickly when it’s right
    • Actively monitor social media for breaking news and trending topic opportunities and respond by generating, editing, and publishing content to join these conversations quickly
    • Be proactive with suggesting and testing new content ideas and formats to help drive rapid growth and engagement
    • Uphold GVI’s ethics and values in all content created
    • Support, train and advise GVI staff on social media best practices when required
    • Engage with GVI staff to generate content
