    Control and Automation Technician

    What are we looking for?
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • N4 + Process control and Instrumentation section 13 or section 26D trade test
    • Ideally National Diploma Process control and Instrumentation section 13 or section 26D trade test
    • Five year working experience post In-service training or apprenticeship 

    EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE  

    • Performs fault finding on breakdowns as 2nd level of support
    • Conducts preventative maintenance, complete work orders and respond to the needs of the plant operations.
    • Participates in projects, monitors installation and commissioning; and ensures that machine specifications are recorded for future reference thereto
    • Participate in projects, respond to breakdowns, troubleshoot PM’s (preventative maintenance), complete work orders and respond to the needs of the plant operations.
    • Ensures all equipment is running safely and to standards
    • Contribute to continuous improvement activities
    • Excellent knowledge of Electrical and Instrumentation
    • Loop tuning, PID control and plant optimization
    • Good knowledge of electrical and instrumentation drawing P&ID, Single line diagrams and
    • Advanced PLC and VSD knowledge
    • Rockwell Automation packages AB logix 5000, logix SLC500, RSlinx and Powerflex drives
    • Siemens Packages WinCC SCADA, S7-400, S7-300 and ET-200 extensions
    • Advanced instrumentation, calibration and documentation of calibration certificates 
    • Perform LOTO procedures
    • Participate in the daily workstream, weekly workstream and Go and See activities
    • Ensure that Breakdown analysis and problem-solving activities are executed as per area of responsibility
    • Ensure good housekeeping, 5S, GMP/GHP, Food safety procedures
    • Support all Autonomous Maintenance activities

    What will be your key responsibilities?

    Packaging, Grinding, Utilities, and Extrusion equipment’s/building preventive maintenance system

    • Execute, record and report tests, inspections, settings, lubrication tasks and other preventive maintenance tasks in coordination with production activities
    • Perform Well packaging inspection on all Line, ensure high efficiency performance
    • Attend to all high priority activities within packaging area
    • Ensure that all preventive maintenance is done in accordance with the safety regulations without the risk of damage to people, equipment, or product

    Packaging, Grinding, Utilities, and Extrusion breakdown maintenance

    • Ensure quick, safe, and accurate repair of any breakdown
    • Record all breakdowns and present a detailed report indicating the origin, cause and cost of repair / correction
    • Follow up on all 5WHY and problem-solving sessions
    • Responsible for the overall maintenance, fault finding, repair and replacement of mechanical and electrical equipment.
    • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance of high-speed packaging equipment.
    • Read diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
    • Ensure that all breakdown repairs are done in accordance with the safety regulations without the risk of damage to people, equipment or product

    External contracted works

    • Operatively control and report contracted works done on equipment’s or assets of the company by external companies

    Spare part stock control

    • Control, receive and record reception of spare parts, oils and consumables, cleaning materials
    • Control and record use of spare parts, oils and consumables, cleaning materials,
    • Maintain all stock in accordance with company procedure for good housekeeping and access control
    • Ensure that all obsolete equipment is identified and recorded for future capex, replacement and creation of new stock items

    Assistant Brand Manager

    The Assistant Brand Manager will support the Portfolio Managers to deliver portfolio growth for the business unit, in line with the category and portfolio strategy. The role holder will support through effective management of portfolio details and administration for the team.

    What will be your key responsibilities?

    • Work closely with portfolio managers; with time and focus divided: - 50% on Food, 25% Pet & 25% MW
    • Oversee all A&CP budget processing (Raise PO’s, FO’s, etc) and monthly budget tracking across portfolios
    • Support annual portfolio plans in line with segment strategy by
    • Facilitating quarterly portfolio performance reviews with internal & external data
    • Managing all artwork creation & delivery for renovation/innovation projects
    • Support with administration related to portfolio management - eg regional templates, website deployment, translations
    • Support portfolio regulatory & legal listing / coding
    • Champion identified portfolio related projects (ie renovation, innovation, profitability)
    • Support Portfolio Managers in deploying brand activations (EBAs) as defined in the segment strategies eg sampling, competition terms, etc 
    • Lead and co-ordinate all creative, media, social & PR agency meetings (& occasional pitch processes) 
    • Drive Portfolio team training and culture/ ‘Togetherness’ agenda & team status
    • Lead & Co-ordinate Portfolio Management Review (PMR) in S&OP+ (Step 1)

    SCOPE:

    • This role has a high degree of cross functional and cross portfolio influence, so it is critical to be able to work comfortably with multiple teams such as Sales, Category, Regulatory, Finance, etc etc. This requirement extends externally with the ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with agency partners.
    • Understanding budget management, creation of PO’s, FO’s and the ability to track spending across A&CP buckets will be key as will be holding Portfolio managers accountable to spends and plans.
    • Your Support in delivery of initiatives on time and in full will be imperative with key operational deliverables such as artwork creation (& approval process); legal & regulatory registration co-ordination as well as EBA execution support such as sampling, translations and website management.
    • You will own step 1 of the S+OP+ process in terms of co-ordination and collation as well as drive the training & team culture agenda
    • Key analytics support in the form of facilitation of quarterly performance & competitor reviews
