    Laboratory Technician (Temporary)

    Job Overview:
    Responsible for conducting Internal ASHA Lab Audits

    • Support during FSSC 22000 and AIB Audits. Provide support during trials, commissioning or new projects. Responsible and accountable for Laboratory specific projects. Coordinate projects related to improving food safety and quality systems.

    Key deliverables

    • Responsible for equipment calibration on shift in order to determine accurate information, In addition, day to day lab analysis

    Calibration of lab equipment

    • Scales, NMR, Auto titrator, FTIR, pH Meter, etc

    Reports equipment deviations to Lab supervisor and trouble shooting

    •  Conduct troubleshooting for out of specification: analytical results, equipment

    Control of stock requirements

    • Weekly stock take and reporting stock level to supervisor 

    Responsible for routine sampling and testing of incoming materials, WIP and finished goods

    • Incoming Potatoes, oil, seasoning – document results and labelling of stock with release or reject stickers
    • Capturing of results on system

    Conducts product quality tests and investigate out of specification results and implement corrective actions

    • Seasoning, weigh control checks, packet quality assessment, case counts, date code checks during the shift
    • Ensure all data reports are completed and the results communicated at the end of each shift
    • Oversee hourly process Weaklink results to ensure that plant runs according to standard
    • Attend daily Quality Wall meetings – process and packaging
    • Ensure adherence to all procedures and policies, analytical testing methods, ASHA requirements

    Conducts Line inspections

    • ATP swabs, Allergen swabbing including managing and supporting all foreign objects management on the line

    HACCP monitoring and filing of records

    • Check completion of HACCP records

    Ensure that AIB, food safety and quality standards are maintained throughout

    • Report non-conformances noted during shift line patrols

    Manage and control all On Hold, rejected and released stock

    • Place hold/reject/release stickers on affected stock
    • Responsible for conducting Internal ASHA Lab Audits

    Distribution Manager

    What we're looking for:

    • To ensure customers receive their stock on time and in full, while effectively managing Key Account staff. Responsible for maintaining all vehicles in a roadworthy condition at all times, and for overseeing budgets and controlling costs to ensure operational efficiency.

    Accountabilities: 

    Cost:

    • Ensure the Distribution overheads are within AOP, Contract Labour and Overtime.
    • Demonstrated expertise in budget management, regularly analyzing the budget model, making budget submissions and closely monitoring expenses with timely deviation handling.
    • Effective management of overtime costs within budget.
    • Effective management of designated AOP category to ensure that business remains within budget.

    Service:

    • Ensure compliance to service levels agreed pertaining to order fill rate.

    Commercial Field Agronomist

    Responsibilities
    What we're looking for:

    • We're looking for a Commercial Field Agronomist based at Isando Plant Snacks. Succesful candidate will provide Agronomic leadership and technical growing support to Pioneer Oats growers and to Simba potato growers. Roll out revised agricultural best practices to new and existing growers to support IPS product design. Responsible for production information capturing, volume forecasting and the successful integration of new proprietary varieties within the BU’s agronomy productivity agenda.
    • Responsible for educating growers on latest agronomic practices that drive best in class small grain and potato quality, increased yields, reduce foreign objects, inspects and recommend farmer washing/grading operations and equipment.
    • Develop, implement and maintain good handling practices for potatoes to ensure high quality potatoes from field and storage to the factory.
    • Develop, implement and maintain good harvesting practices for Oats to ensure high quality potatoes from field and storage to the mill.
    • Provide growers with best in class, specialist agronomic support to deliver improved quality, monitor crop performance (SmartAgro) and implement sustainable improvements across all growers and growing regions.
    • Provide regional Agro management with monthly commercial crop volume estimates compared to contracted volumes, forecast crop losses where it occur, and/or identify potential supply risks in order to effectively plan for “short/over-supply” for commercial contract periods.
    • Interact with production schedulers regularly, Quality representatives , FLM’s and Operations Managers where needed to facilitate effective management of the supply chain from farm to production.
    • Facilitate the successful integration of potato varieties into SA Program (identify suitable fields and areas for field trials, monitor fields and crop progress regularly, monitor crop quality, arrange plant trials and jointly collate and analyze conversion and consumer performance).
    • Assist Agro Manager in selecting regional strategic planting areas and farmers that will minimize risk and maximize productivity.
    • Facilitate and execute research projects (new plant materials, fertilizers and chemical, planting and irrigation practices), which will contribute positively to sustainability and productivity programs.
    • Stay updated with latest/best available technology in the agricultural industry in order to be able to assist farmers in making informed decisions.
    • Drive practices that stem from the Pep Positive agenda by drawing up and excecuting plans against Regenerative and Sustainable Agriculture
    • Ensure that all farmers and supply adheres the SQA requirements

    Qualifications

    • Specialist Agronomical Knowledge of Small Grain and/or Potato Crop, with emphasis on quantity and quality forecasting (Preferably B.Sc. (Agric) degree or Diploma in agriculture).

    Clerk Sales Administration: Fixed Rebate Spend

    Job Overview:

    • Responsible for capturing of all Fixed Spend WBS agreements, accruals, payments in SAP, accurate provisions and accurate settlement of all fixed spend claims in accordance with valid AOPs which requires tremendous accuracy and attention to detail.     Instrument Technician (Temporary)

    Responsibilities

    • The main purpose is primarily to ensure maximum plant uptime is achieved continuously.
    • The individual must be a leader in maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical, instrumentation and control systems equipment.
    • The individual must ensure that the factory meets its key KPIs which include but are not limited to production volume, safety and quality compliance, cost reduction, equipment reliability improvement and downtime reduction.

    • Performs electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities associated with process plant, packaging plant; palletizing plant, waste water plant, utilities and facilities
    • Leading all electrical and instrumentation repairs and maintenance activities in designated area of responsibility.

    • Calibrates, repairs and maintains instrumentation, control and electrical associated equipment to ensure operation within set standards.

    Qualifications

    • Electrical trade tested with at least N6/S4 diploma qualification in Electrical: Instrumentation and control.
    • Minimum 5 years maintenance experience in the Production/FMCG environment.
    • Advanced computer literacy skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and SAP maintenance management system
    • Must have extensive knowledge of maintaining electrical, instrumentation and electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical diagram, P&IDs, equipment manuals, with a high quality of work.
    • Strong PLC fault finding and troubleshooting skills and thorough knowledge of operator interfaces and HMIs.
    • Experience in control systems - PLCs, SCADA, VSDs, Servo systems, HMI systems, standalone controllers, high speed printers and robotics.
    • Working experience with industrial communication methodologies (Ethernet, CANBUS, RS-232, ASI, Devicenet)
    • Highly maintenance and reliability focused to improve equipment quality and safety results.
