    Workshop Operations Manager - M4

    The Role:

    • To create and maintain a vital link between the customer and Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions at Strategic decision-making level. Responsible to build and maintain good customer relationships. Responsible for the profit and loss.

     Main Responsibilities

    • Lead workshop business growth
    • Develop the workshop team in the areas of control to meet and exceed customer satisfaction
    • Implement quality control process and standards
    • Develop and/or implement a workshop strategy
    • Develop and manage budgets, striving for a cost-effective operations without compromising safety or quality
    • Identifying, analyzing, and driving resolution of customer issues (warranty and non-warranty) with account management
    • Manage rebuilds and repairs operations to meet the contract target costs
    • Executing workshop activity to cost, utilization, quality and cycle time targets
    • Collaborate internally with key stakeholders
    • Manage a team of workshop managers

    Qualification  

    • National Diploma or Degree in Mining/ Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Business qualification
    • Masters in Business Administration (MBA) (advantageous)

    • Computer literacy (including relevant programs)
    • Knowledge of Sandvik Databases (desirable)

    Millwright Development Training Program

    Purpose of the role:

    • The Training Programme provides individuals with structured workplace exposure aligned with their academic curriculum.     Foreman

    Purpose of the role:

    • To effectively supervise screening media operators during the manufacturing of screening media (Injection Moulding and Polyurethane Open Cast products) and related components to complete and meet production deadlines. To monitor progress in line with machine schedules, production orders and resource requirements to meet all company cost, quality and output requirements.

    The job responsibilities:

    • Polyurethane / Rubber Injection Moulding and Polyurethane Open Cast
    • Responsible to assist the production manager to Co-ordinate and manage daily and ongoing screening media manufacturing.
    • To be actively involved with production schedules, machine loading and output to complete and meet production deadlines.
    • Ensure that all materials are available for jobs that are currently on the floor and planning material for new jobs.
    • Responsible to perform quality checks
    • Responsible to perform quality checks on screening media products and other related parts.
    • Provide clear instructions to team members towards deadline dates and allowable hours necessary to meet completion deadlines.
    • To participate in making management decisions affecting the work output.
    • To ensure best maintenance practices are followed on screening media equipment and machinery and report any unsafe or faulty equipment to production manager.
    • To coach and guide operators on job procedures.
    • Communicate effectively with your production manager.
    • To assist the production manager on all day-to-day activities, resolving of staff problems, to keep employees motivated and working efficiently.
    • Maintain discipline in the working area to avoid non-professional activities to be carried in and around the workplace.
    • To provide a positive “can do” approach to management, whilst leading the teams by example.
    • Ensure that working area is clean and neat and free of safety hazards.
    • Ensure all staff abides by H&S requirements including the use of appropriate PPE where and when required.
    • Ensuring workers follow safe work practices.
    • Enforcing health and safety regulations.
    • Correcting unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
    • Conduct continues risk assessments to ensure a safe workshop environment.
    • Ensuring that only authorized, adequately trained operators operate the equipment.
    • Responsible to operate within the health and safety requirements as prescribed by the Company and OHSAct.

    Qualifications & Experience Requirements

    • Grade 12 certificate, N3 Mechanical or equivalent.
    • Qualification from Plastics SA Academy would be beneficial.
    • Supervisory or other relevant Training/courses.
    • Minimum 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in a similar field or similar.
    • Substantial experience within injection moulding and polyurethane moulding industry.

    Outbound Planner

    • We are looking for a motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as our Outbound Planner.
    • The role will report into the Order Desk Manager, and the role will be based from our offices in Spartan, Kempton Park.

    Purpose of the role:

    • Responsible for the management of the customer order flow and the interface with Sales Areas
    • Responsible for the processing of Capital Sales and After Market Screening Solutions orders, Internal Workflow and the interface with Sales Areas.

    The job responsibilities:

    Order Processing

    • Daily Quoting of RFQ’s
    • Daily Processing of all sales area purchase orders
    • Daily Releasing of customer orders
    • Daily processing of Purchase Requisitions for Buy-out Items
    • Daily Processing of Job files for Aftermarket Manufactured Items
    • Reporting item code related issues o the Inventory Team
    • Execute the cancellation of orders based on customer requests
    • Working with Inventory, Purchasing, Warehouse and Freight teams to source, arrange and despatch items
    • Resolve order issues like incorrect address, shipping instructions, Incoterms

    Backorder Management

    • Resolve any allocation problems daily, specifically orders in Manufacturing, Production and Warehouse.
    • Daily review and resolution of outstanding orders in Manufacturing, Production, Warehouse and Invoicing.
    • Daily reviewing and expediting of Unit Down Orders and Urgently Requested Orders.
    • Weekly review of Incomplete orders in the warehouse and follow up with the responsible department for completion.
    • Weekly communication to Sales Areas on progress of all open orders.
    • Processing of Returns and Initiating requests for credits.

    EHS Responsibilities

    • Comply with SRP SHEQ management system
    • Live the Sandvik EHS Culture.
    • Drive safety awareness and performance to achieve SRP EHS compliance standards and Key Performance Indicators

    Qualifications & Experience Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • Diploma / Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management or related field
    • 2 to 4 years’ experience in Customer Service in a Warehousing /Distribution /Supply Chain environment.

    Other Requirements & Competencies

    • Experience in managing internal and/or external customer accounts
    • Proven ability to work efficiently within a Supply Chain environment and complete duties in an autonomous manner
    • Proven ability to effectively communicate, liaise and negotiate with a range of stakeholders
    • Commitment to excellence and timeliness in internal client service
    • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
    • Strong focus on business and process execution/improvement.
    • Good working knowledge of International Trade and Freight processes
    • Prior Syspro working experience is beneficial.
