    Learning Experience Designer

    What will you do?
    This career opportunity is available at Santam for the e-Learning Designer, who  may be based in Western Cape or Gauteng.


    The purpose of the role is to ensure that the science and the art of creating experiences that help learners fulfill the learning outcomes they desire, are executed in a user-centered and goal-directed way.

    •     Employ the principles of learning facilitation, information architecture, and people analytics.

    Manager: Sales

    What will you do?
    Santam Operations has a vacancy for the position of Sales Manager: Personal Lines Contact Centre (PLCC) who will be based in Auckland Park.

    WHAT WILL YOU DO? 
    Develop and execute targeted sales and service delivery strategies to grow the Commodity Business, which is defined as new personal lines business.

    What will make you successful in this role?

    • Delivering personal quotes to intermediaries across South Africa, thus a contact centre with a national footprint.
    • Quoting for different profile intermediaries, including small to medium and large brokerages, also allowing for an urban and rural context.  
    • Delivering quotes within a personal product range that consist of multiple products/sections.  
    • Adhering to a set of SOPs (high complexity) which is the framework within which the quotes are delivered
    • Engaging with a range of stakeholders both internally (regional managers/relationship managers/senior management) and externally (Intermediaries/Online Brokers/Advisors)
    • Formulating and implementing strategies for Sales through driving and actively managing the improvement of requests for quotations and conversion rates.
    • Leading and managing the teams (including dedicated underwriters where applicable) in Sales ensuring daily service and quality levels are maintained. This includes inter alia the BAU activities of performance management, individual and team productivity, quality assurance, rework, and queue and violations management.
    • Establishing a Sales team (s) which can quote and service brokers across PL classes of business.
    • Collaborating closely with the PLCC Manco leaders/team to ensure service levels and operational efficiencies are achieved for the PLCC as a whole.
    • Collaborating closely with all stakeholders in Broker Services to ensure needs and requirements are met, and the strategies to grow the Business are fully supported.
    • Actively managing the relationship with Brokers/Intermediaries on an ongoing basis to ensure gaps in service delivery are observed and corrected.  This includes being available for brokers on matters which are escalated to management.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Extent (years) and nature of experience required:
    •     5 to 10 years of people and operational management experience across various financial industry types e.g.  Insurance (Life and Short Term), Banking, Investment Management. Pension Funds 
    •     3-5 years contact center operational management experience
    •     Full understanding of IT environment, practices and methodologies (including Agile), and system stability/incident management processes
    •     Good understanding and working knowledge of workflow design and systems (in all positions)
    •     Knowledge of personal lines products in the short-term industry

    Business Development Manager

    What will you do?

    Santam SHA has an exciting full time employment opportunity for a Business Development Manager, who will report into the Underwriting Head: Digital Distribution.
    The succussful incumbent will be based in Johannesburg, Illovo however it will be a combination of office based and work from home.

    What will make you successful in this role?

    • Assist in formulating, implementing and co-ordinating the strategy to drive SHA’s VIB initiative

    • Develop and implement new product solutions for the target base using SHA’s pocket underwriter.

    • Liaise internally with Underwriting Heads and managers to create packaged product solutions where covers and extensions fall outside the ambit of the Digital Distribution team (Pocket underwriter).

    • Meet budget responsibility for a book of business.

    • Monitor renewals lapsed policies and new business with monthly report back.

    • Assist Underwriting Head in preparing a budget for your relevant business area that is in line with the overall company strategy for growth and financial sustainability.

    • Compile monthly financial reports on the VIB brokers for distribution to the Underwriting Heads of the business

    • Mentor and provide technical training of current and new staff if and when required.

    Qualifcation & Experience

    • Matric.

    • Appropriate tertiary qualification a preference.

    • Must be FAIS compliant.

    • Insurance related qualification or business degree will be advantageous

    • Minimum 5 years specialist insurance experience.

    • Working will be a combination of office based and work from home.

    Legal Advisor

    What will you do?
    A position for a Legal Advisor exists in the Corporate Services, Legal team, based at Santam Sandton (Johannesburg) or Bellville (Cape Town) offices.

    The purpose of the role is to render legal and regulatory support and compliance solutions services to the business taking into account commercial demands.

    PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Experience in Financial Services environment advantageous.

    • Experience in technical legal interpretation, application and implementation.

    • In-depth experience and expertise in insurance, commercial or business law (preferably mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance or banking and finance).
