    Logistics Engineer (12 month contract)

    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE  

    • Assist the Program manager for property. Consolidation of requirements for building design from operations. Follow up of project task related to building requirements, operational requirements, 3rd party suppliers and consultants. Liaise with senior management from all the related business units for DSV regarding property projects.

     

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Data collection for various inputs required for the property project
    • Evaluates and analyzes data, processes and material flow
    • Develops business cases for financial investments where required, including ROI calculations, quantified value, productivity improvements, etc.
    • Documents and communicates project timelines, milestones and objectives.
    • Minuting Meetings of project related tasks
    • Follow up on property project related tasks
    • Signoff Documentation creation and follow up for various elements linked to the Property Project
    • Assist with tender adjudication
    • Attend construction site meeting
    • Meeting and coordinating with construction professional team, management directors and operational directors
    • Monthly : assist with board meeting presentation preparation

    TERTIARY QUALIFICATION

    • Industrial Engineering B-Eng Degree or National Diploma or B-Tech from a recognized institution
    • Matric essential

    JOB-RELATED REQUIREMENTS 

    • 2 + years industrial engineering experience including project management, in a contract logistics environment or similar;
    • Financial acumen – including business case development and supporting data
    • Ability to work extended hours and travel when required (+-20%)
    • Own vehicle & valid license
    • Ability to work under pressure & adapt to change

    ELECTIVES

    • Sound knowledge of Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
    • Operational experience and the ability to work independently
    • Administration skills, Presentations skills
    • High level knowledge of Logistics Industry
    • High level knowledge of Project management
