    Senior Lecturer/ Lecturer - (1941)

    The successful candidate for will be responsible for the following:

    • Facilitate learning and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels on campus and in clinical settings
    • Conduct research and publish in appropriate high impact journals;
    • Undergraduate and postgraduate supervision
    • Curriculum development, assessment and the continuous improvement of the academic programme
    • Community engagement and outreach
    • Manage academic administration

    Minimum Requirements

    For the post of Senior Lecturer the following criteria shall apply:

    • A BPharm, MBChB or related degree AND a PhD (Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmacology or Clinical Pharmacology), or a PharmD
    • Registration with the appropriate Professional Council (SAPC or HPCSA) to practice in South Africa
    • Teaching and practice experience with a student centred and innovative approach towards teaching and learning
    • A record of relevant high-quality accredited publications and experience of postgraduate research supervision

    For the post of Lecturer, the following criteria shall apply:

    • A BPharm, MBChB or related degree AND a Master’s degree in Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmacology or Clinical Pharmacology
    • Registration with the appropriate Professional Council (SAPC or HPCSA) to practice in South Africa
    • Teaching and practice experience with a student centred and innovative approach towards teaching and learning
    • A record of relevant publications and some experience of postgraduate supervision or mentorship.

    Lecturer: Extended Curriculum Programme (ECP) - (1925)

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key areas:

    • Facilitate learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Statistics/Data Science
    • Conduct research and publish on topics related to Statistics/Data Science
    • Undertake undergraduate and/or postgraduate supervision
    • Undertake curriculum development and assessment
    • Undertake community/industry engagement and outreach

    Minimum Requirements

    • MSc in Statistics or Data Science or Mathematical Statistics
    • Demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, in the field of Statistics or Data Science
    • Proven expertise in applying complex statistical and data science techniques in statistical packages such as SAS, R and/or Python

    Advantageous criteria:

    • Currently registered for a PhD in Statistics or Data Science or Mathematical Statistics
    • A record of successful postgraduate supervision at the honours level
    • A record of quality peer reviewed publications, in the field of Statistics, Applied Statistics or Data Science or proof of peer reviewed technical reports submitted in industry.

    Senior Lecturer/ Lecturer: Resource Geology and Digital Earth Sciences - (1905)

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key responsibility areas:

    • Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Resource Geology/GIS/Digital Earth Sciences as well as introductory courses in geology as required
    • Planning and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate field work and administration of modules
    • Develop and lead an internationally competitive, externally funded research program
    • Service delivery at departmental level commensurate with experience
    • Publishing research results in international journals relevant to the broader research field
    • Participate in community engagement and outreach
    • Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate field work
    • Supervising research projects of undergraduate and postgraduate students commensurate with level of appointment

    Minimum Requirements

    For the post of Senior Lecturer, the following minimum requirements shall apply

    • PhD relevant to Resource Geology/GIS/Digital Earth Sciences
    • Demonstrated knowledge of resource geology, GIS, and other relevant digital techniques
    • Proven record of teaching in the relevant field commensurate with level of appointment
    • Demonstrated experience of successful postgraduate research supervision.
    • Proven record of securing research funding from external sources
    • A track record of publications in international peer-reviewed accredited journals in the relevant field commensurate with level of appointment
    • Experience in departmental academic governance and curriculum development would be an advantage

    For the post of Lecturer, the following minimum requirements shall apply:

    • MSc degree relevant or related to Resource Geology/GIS/Digital Earth Sciences
    • Registered for a PhD with a clear plan for completion
    • Experience in teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in resource geology and GIS
    • Evidence of producing relevant high-quality peer-reviewed -accredited conference proceedings and/or publications.

    Professor /Associate Professor - (1884)

    The successful candidate for Professor/Associate Professor in the Physiology will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

    • Facilitate learning and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Physiology
    • Conduct research and publish in the field Physiology
    • Undertake undergraduate and postgraduate supervision
    • Provide academic leadership
    • Undertake curriculum development and assessment
    • Participate in community engagement and outreach.
    • Joining and/or driving the research vision of the Department through an active research programme including an ability to raise research funding and supervise Honours, Masters and Doctoral students. 
    • Play a role in the administrative activities of the Department, Faculty and the university.
    • Fulfil any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department

    Minimum Requirements

    Minimum Requirement – Professor:

    • PhD or equivalent, in the field of Physiology
    • Demonstrated experience in facilitating learning and teaching, in the field of Physiology (including gross anatomy, histology, embryology)
    • A record of quality peer reviewed publications in the field of Physiology
    • A record of successful postgraduate supervision
    • Evidence of expertise, national standing, and definite international presence in his/her discipline.
    • The integration of community engagement with learning and teaching and/or research
    • Experience in generating research grants

    Minimum Requirements - Associate Professor:

    • PhD or equivalent, in the field of  Physiology 
    • Demonstrated experience in facilitating learning and teaching, preferably in the field of Physiology (including gross anatomy, histology, embryology)
    • A record of quality peer reviewed publications, in the field of Physiology
    • A record of successful postgraduate supervision
    • The integration of community engagement with learning and teaching and/or research
    • Evidence of expertise, national standing, and preferably an international presence in his/her discipline.

    • Facilitate learning and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics.
    • Conduct research  and publish in Applied Mathematics, in particular, Mathematical Biology and/or Computational Finance. 
    • Undertake undergraduate and postgraduate supervision.
    • Provide academic leadership and administration.
    • Undertake curriculum development and assessment.
    • Undertake community engagement and outreach. 

    Minimum Requirements

    Minimum Requirements – Professor:

    • PhD or equivalent, in the field of Mathematics or Applied Mathematics.
