    Assistant Resident Engineer Roadworks - Durban

    Requirements: 
    Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, 8 – 10 years construction supervision experience on road, bridge & civil services construction projects. Either PrEng/ PrTech / PrTechni registration with ECSA will be a requirement. Knowledge and understanding of the COLTO Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Works and the NEC 4 contract will be beneficial.
       
    Job Description: The duties of the Assistant Resident Engineer will include the following:
    Monitoring construction progress in line with the approved programme and reporting to the Resident Engineer (RE).
    Implement the Engineer’s quality control plan.
    Inspect the works, monitor quality, arrange for acceptance control testing, prepare statistical reports of test results and approve/reject work.

    Specialised Engineer (Mechanical or Structural) - Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

    Responsibilities of a succesful candidate;

    Daily tasks would vary based on the current project, but responsibilities would typically include:

    We are looking to hire a mechanical or structural engineer into the Specialized Engineering (SE) group who has 0-5 years of experience, therefore ranging from a graduate to mid-senior level. The focus of SE is to provide specialized engineering expertise and services. These would include, but are not limited to, advanced numerical analysis (for example, FEA), Fitness-for-Service Assessments, field measurements and inspections and technology development. This job requires close interaction with personnel within the SE group, from other engineering disciplines and our clients organizations. We are looking for a candidate with the following attributes:

    • Excellent academic performance and a demonstrated interest in structural and/or thermomechanical engineering of industrial equipment;

    • 0-5 years of experience in the application of numerical methods to practical engineering problems
    • Preferably has completed their masters in engineering

    Geometric Design Specialist - Cape Town

    As the successful candidate, you will:

    • Undertake and review geometric design work of National, Provincial and Municipal Roads.

    You bring to the role:

    • Highly competent in road conceptual planning and geometric design and drawing production standards for national, provincial, and municipal road projects.
    • Demonstrate experience in the design of freeway interchanges, major provincial roads, urban arterial roads, dual carriageways, major intersections, roundabouts, traffic engineering, and drainage.
    • Good understanding of relevant design methods and guidelines for Roads & Highways projects at National, Provincial and Municipal level is essential.
