    Reporting and Data Analyst

    Summary of Role

    • The reporting and data analyst will ensure that all key datasets provided from the business are tracked and reported via key dashboards / reports. This role will consolidate data sources where required but also act as a subject matter expert to improve and mobilise a data driven organisation through effective tooling and data insights into projects.

    Responsibilities

    • Create overall visibility of the Astron Energy Project Portfolio
    • Responsible for designing, establishing and tracking the Astron Energy value reporting framework
    • Support Project Managers in the provision of standard reports for ongoing status meetings
    • Support development and maintenance of executive dashboards and report consolidation across the Astron Energy project portfolio
    • Support data gathering and reconcile data from multiple sources (Value Controllers and Business)
    • Responsible for data consolidation and analysis to feed dashboards for status reporting of consolidated portfolio
    • Interfaces with IT where necessary to develop and maintain tools for reporting
    • Ensure data is submitted timeously and accurately is critical
    • Generate Business / BU specific reports
    • Resolve conflicting datasets for reporting

    Qualifications

    • BSc (Information Systems) or BSc (Information Technology) or similar is required

    Experience

    • 3 years in master data analysis, structures and reporting required
    • 3 years of experience in Power BI and SharePoint advantageous
    • SAP experience desirable
    • Understanding of information data on business performance

    Skills

    • Background in information and data architecture; application development
    • In depth knowledge of relevant technologies; data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical levels)
    • Ability to work under pressure; in stressful solutions to tight timelines on multiple initiatives simultaneously
    • Analytical skills necessary to understand, manipulate, describe and display data
    • Systems thinker

    Decision Support Analyst Projects and Deals

    Summary of Role

    • Member of a specialist team representing the CFO office on project teams and to BU’s, providing financial assurance on projects to top management, and financial and commercial analysis to BU’s relating to project strategy, individual projects, and Retail and/or C&I Deals. Works with the Senior Decision Support Analyst and other analysts on projects and/or deals of complexity appropriate to each analyst’s skills and experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide decision support economic analysis for projects, studies, initiatives and retail commercial deals (e.g. Capex, C&I etc.), include financial analysis of options
    • Maintain fit for purpose economic models to assess project and deal economics
    • Provide inputs into the Capital Planning Process
    • Project forecasts
    • Release of unallocated contingency
    • Expense authorization and governance
    • Project cost management with commercial and procurement deal assessments and reviews
    • Enhance project financial metrics
    • Implement and monitor accounting standards for projects - WBS structures, use of SAP capabilities, multi-currency budgets, etc.
    • Approve deal structures as per SOCA controls per business function, aligned with strategies

    Qualifications

    • CIMA, CA(SA) preferred. Commerce degree in finance or Engineer & MBA combination will also be considered.

    Experience

    • Minimum 3 years post qualification experience with large industrial plant experience and/or fuels industry commercial deal experience desirable

    Skills

    • Aptitude to develop economics for project decision support.
    • Financial modelling of commercial deals
    • Understanding of the commercial drivers that impact enterprise profitability and returns on investment
    • Understanding the business planning process
    • Ability to articulate business performance through excellent presentation skills, both written and verbal
    • The ability to engage with all levels of the organization
    • Future career development may rely on experience and assessed ability to meaningfully improve project outcomes
