    Senior Metallurgist - Saldanha Bay Rural

    Description

    The purpose of this position is to continuously monitor production outputs and optimise process efficiency in line with plant capacity and sound processing principles.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensure that Process activities are integrated and coordinated.
    • Establish process data monitoring, automation, reporting, and accounting systems.
    • Comply with provided systems, practices, methods, standards, and procedures of the work.
    • Ensure the adherence to the specified process parameters within the respective sections.
    • Effective trouble shooting and RCA in case of systems, processing, and equipment deviations.
    • Identify, diagnose and analyze deviations and consult with the Supervisor / Management prior to implementing changes.
    • Provide technical and production support and advise to responsible Supervisors / Management.
    • Conduct research (literature or practical) on specific topics received from the Process Superintendent / Plant Manager or Client
    • Conduct test and project work in the laboratory and do physical tests in the plant and consolidate test results with past reports and other findings.
    • Conduct cost analysis exercises to evaluate the viability of implementing projects and make necessary recommendations for changes in the process.
    • Perform administrative duties to ensure record accuracy and availability and budget compliance.
    • Drive continuous process performance improvement initiatives.
    • Submit monthly technical metallurgical plant performance reporting and feedback

    Qualification Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
    • Valid driver’s licence code B, EB or C1

    Experience and Skills Requirements

    • 5 – 8 years’ technical and production experience in a hydrometallurgical mineral processing environment, of which 2 years’ must be as a Plant Metallurgist
    • Technically skilled in froth flotation process
    • Process modelling and process control experience would be advantageous.
    • Oxide flotation experience would be advantageous.
    • Computer literate and highly skilled in MS Office suite

    Plant Engineer - Rustenburg

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Control the allocation of work to ensure the achievement of results according to client needs and service objectives
    • Coordinate the integration of the operational plans with engineering systems to ensure maximum plant availability according to organisational objectives
    • Assess the requirements of the law, and ensure the implementation and adherence to all requirements within the responsibility area
    • Provide technical support to the operation on engineering related matters to minimize possible engineering risk
    • Prepare short, medium and long-term maintenance plans to meet business objectives
    • Analyse and interpret maintenance trends and variances, and initiate change
    • Ensure compliance to legislative requirements, engineering standards and specifications

    • Manage and control the allocation of funds to ensure adherence to approved budgeted expenditure
    • Assist in compiling the budget by providing information based on operational security and organisational requirements

    Qualification Requirements:

    • A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering together with a GCC (Mines and Works)

    Group Engineering Manager – Global Operations - JHB

    Duties & Responsibilities:
    Engineering

    • Technical Lead for maintenance management and associated utilities tsupport Minopex Group Operational sites and ensure appropriate maintenance standards are formulated and rolled out tall sites and client requirements.
    • Be a reliability subject matter expert tunderstand the critical aspect of condition monitoring requirements and be the point of reference for audits
    • Leads , manages and implements measures that takes the Minopex engineering centre of excellence tworld standards on quality and delivery – retaining and growing our client bases globally
    • Embraces the best fit technology and innovation tdrive the best in class service from this centre of excellence
    • Leads continuous improvement processes
    • Evaluates maintenance strategies tensure the effective design and implementation thereof across all the sites
    • Maximizes equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs
    • Develops, reviews, and improves documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions etc
    • Leads repair programmes on equipment
    • Ensures that the QA and QC policies, inspection techniques are implemented for all equipment repair types
    • Critical analyses of all site equipment and spares requirements

    Operational Management

    • Adheres tall regulatory requirements and participates in audits tenhance maintenance efficiencies. Monitors and follows up tensure timely completion of all commitments
    • Participates in and writes quality investigations and Change Controls as required and is the Owner of applicable action items
    • Provides technical support for maintenance requirements tthe sites as required
    • Optimizes maintenance strategies (preventive and corrective) for the system
    • Works in conjunction with team members tensure that the system provides a computerized maintenance management system, spare parts inventory, planning, and scheduling.
    • Works with quality, operations, and engineering tsupport the Sites
    • Leads technical troubleshooting efforts tdetermine the root cause of equipment failures and underperformance and implements timely and effective corrective actions
    • Drives implementation of continuous improvement actions
    • Leads a Team of reliability engineers timprove plant uptime and effective cost control for life cycle costing.

    Financial

    • Manages personal and project budget man-hours
    • Ensures maintenance requirements are in accordance with capital budget and quantities
    • Ensures proper change management procedures are adhered to
    • Assists with the budget process for the maintenance function

    Client Relations

    • Ensures that all interactions with Clients are conducted in a professional and respectful manner
    • Ensures that Clients are kept informed and up tdate on the status of project technical aspects
    • Ensures that Minopex Operations remains the Clients Engineering service provider of choice

    Qualification Requirements:

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or a related technical field)

    Experience and Skills Requirements

    • At least ten (10) years’ experience in a similar role is required with:
    •    Maintenance excellence experience in a mining operations environment, including implementing upgraded processes
    • Experience addressing site infrastructure needs
    •   Processing, mining, and/or machine control systems experience
    • Good knowledge of CMMS, Lean techniques, statistical analysis, and automated systems
    • Exceptional oral and written communication and collaboration skills
    • Excellent problem identification, solving, and analytical skills
    • Ability tcommunicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
    • Excellent Computer skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
    • Strong engineering project management skills
