Minimum Requirements:
Be in possession of a Matric / Grade 12 Qualification or Equivalent
Be in possession of a Blasting Certificate
Be in possession of the relevant TM3 Equipment / Machinery Certificates
Have at least 5 years’ experience in production, ideally in trackless and deep level mining
Have knowledge of relevant legislation in respect of the Mine Health & Safety Act
Have strong interpersonal and supervisory skills
Successfully undertake security screening with zero material findings
Completed relevant risk management and supervisory development training (advantageous)
Have excellent achievements in safety and production, including cost control (advantageous)
Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensuring that all relevant production targets are met continuously
Ensuring compliance to the Mines Health & Safety Act,
Accurate and timeous reporting of all relevant safety and production matters;
Ensuring control of explosives and that planning and budget is controlled and applied correctly;
Taking accountability for proper discipline in the section;
Developing and managing of subordinates;
Providing and maintaining a safe environment with minimum risk to the health and safety of the crew
Ensuring effective availability and utilization of equipment and materials
Promoting and developing team effectiveness within the department
Minimum Requirements:
Be in possession of a Grade 12 Certificate.
Hold formal tertiary qualifications in Engineering/Mining or Industrial Engineering, i.e. a degree or diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the mining industry with at least 5 years in managerial position in a mechanized mine.
Minimum 5 years’ experience using analysis to drive improvements through the application of Lean and/or Six Sigma tools and concepts.
Certified Lean and Six Sigma Black Belt.
A postgraduate qualification in a relevant technical discipline is advantageous.
Have a thorough understanding of the skills requirements and organizational design for a large deep level mechanized mining operation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver and execute process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple disciplines.
Identify and deliver business improvement projects across the business.
Employ process improvement methodologies and the application of innovative thinking.
Work with key business stakeholders to build a continuous improvement environment.
Lead and facilitate LEAN / process improvement based workshops to drive ideas and solutions.

Proven experience in surveying massive mining excavations in 3D (advantageous)

Duties and Responsibilities:
Managing the Activities of the Survey and Team, plan monthly Survey requirement and priorities.
Establishing optimum on-mine surveying standards
Maintaining MPRDA survey legal compliance and electronic Survey plans including DMR plans and monthly reporting according to standard
Implement skills and specific activities to ensure optimum performance according to operational requirements, organisational objectives and sound mining practices
Assume Chief Surveyor responsibilities when required
Develop and manage capital and operating budget for Survey function aligned to departmental targets
Establish and maintain a surveying control network across the entire mine (Surface and/or underground)
Maintain and ensure a healthy environment, safe operations and practices, ensuring compliance with all applicable Safety Health and Environment (SHE) policies and procedures in line with set standards
Render a professional internal customer service for the entire mine and in particular to the mining and Technical Services Departments
Research best practice within industry and provide relevant recommendations
Administering effective information recording systems
Ensure full compliance with the requirements of Chapter 17 of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) with regards to surveying, mapping and mine plans and any other relevant regulations and acts
Take action to correct subordinates' performance deviations
Assume a leadership role in the training and development of surveyors within the section.

Have a COM Advanced Survey Certificate, ND in Minerals surveying or NHD Mineral Resource Management or B-Tech in Minerals Surveying.
Have at least 5years Survey experience in a trackless mining environment.
Have a high level of computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite
Effective collection, analysis and reporting of survey data
Experience with mine CAD, Cyclone 3DR, mine MARKUP and other modelling Software(advantageous).
Be in possession of valid driver’s license, Code 08 (EB).

General survey work associated with underground trackless mining.
Contract measurements in stopes and development.
Check surveys, gyro surveys and closure surveys.
