PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

• The Workshop Foreman has the primary responsibility to make sure customers receive consistent, timely and accurate service.

KEY OUTPUTS:

• Ensure an efficient and focused customer service in a passenger car workshop.
• Effectively and efficiently manage the team (Workshop, Service Advisors and Service Admin staff).
• Manage the operations (debt collection, invoicing, quoting, warranty claims, productivity, customer satisfaction).
• Adherence to Company processes and systems.
• To maximizing the efficiency, revenue and productivity of the service department and achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
• To take accountability for staff recruitment, training and development.

Qualifications and Experience    
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Matric.
• Must have at least 5 years’ experience in same or similar role with strong automotive industry knowledge.
• To have contactable references and good track record.
• Skills and Personal Attributes    

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Customer orientation.
• Strong Technical Knowledge.
• Sound knowledge of processes and systems.
• Must have financial planning skills, strategic planning skills, excellent CSI.
• A self-driven and service oriented person.
• You should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong leadership competencies and the ability to interact with all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity.

Job Description    

• This is an exciting opportunity for an individual that is prepared to push themselves to achieve excellent results. The candidate will need tbe confident, driven, have a learning disposition and be prepared to part with knowledge in order to facilitate growth within their team.

Specific Role Responsibilities    

• The candidate will be required to manage the day to day operations of the business including but not limited tthe following:
• Sales peoples activities
• Stock management
• Valuation of trade in cars
• Management of the Higher Gear system
• Management of the Bid4Cars valuation system
• Disposal of wholesale cars through the trade center
• The authorization of reconditioning work
• Due diligence with regards tsupplier workmanship and pricing

Qualifications and Experience    

• 2-3 years experience in same or similar role
• Minimum 3 years experience in the motor industry

• Driven (The hours will be long, (07:30 -18:00) 6 days a week and public holidays, the pressure will be intense but it will be rewarding)

Key Responsibilities And Duties

• Repair and service motor vehicles according to Motus standards and specifications 
• Repair and service vehicles according to specific or franchise specifications
• Establish parts required for service or repairs to be performed and ensure the correct parts are ordered
• Report to Foreman / Service Advisor promptly on any additional work required
• Obtain authorisation prior to carrying out additional work
• Obtain technical information from Foreman / Master Technician on problem jobs
• Adhere to Motus workshop policies and procedures
• Ensure that all old parts are placed in a plastic bag in the boot of the vehicle, except in the case of warranty work where old parts must be returned to the Warranty Clerk
• Ensure that all oils and consumables used are recorded on the job card
• Ensure that worked hours are clocked correctly
• Ensure that the vehicle is kept as clean as possible and that all seat and fender covers are clean
• Do not leave keys in an unattended vehicle
• Ensure that work bay is kept safe, clean and tidy
• Report any faulty / broken equipment to the Foreman / Workshop Manager
• Ensure that special tools and equipment are used according to safety regulations and specifications
• Ensure that hand tools set conforms to Motus standard
• Accept responsibility for apprentice and impart as much technical knowledge to him as possible through explanation, practice and the monitoring of work, including rectifying faults
• Reasonable requests by Management outside your job description will be performed from time to time
