    Chief of Party USAID/South Africa - New Supply Chain Support (NSCS)

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Serve as key point of contact for day-to-day program management.
    • Oversee and manage country team to ensure project implementation runs smoothly.
    • Lead the development and execution of high-quality country strategic plan relevant to the local context and reflecting the global priorities.
    • Lead and ensure the quality of technical deliverables related to supply chain maturity, rational use of medicine, health financing, and private sector engagement of supply chains. 
    • Oversee the recruitment, orientation, and performance of senior staff and development of middle management staff.
    • Collaborate with technical leaders to ensure all workplan activities are not only taking place as planned but are also of high quality
    • Liaise between technical and operations teams to ensure activity plans are translated into contracts, consultancies, travel, etc., and support financial management by ensuring case forecasts and spending reports reflect planned/completed technical activities.
    • Oversee project work planning, budgeting, and progress/financial reporting, in collaboration with country team, technical, and HQ staff.
    • Interface with clients and other project stakeholders, to plan, implement, review, and report on projects and deliverables or products as needed.
    • Ensure staff compliance with project guidelines and SOPs; and perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Key Competencies Required:

    • Experience in international development working with donors (including USAID) is required.
    • Experience as a Chief of Party or in a senior leadership position of a project that is implemented at the country level that required the assembling, managing, and supervising complex teams.
    • Experience with global health or health supply chain programs with significant experience in one of the following areas: supply chain management, procurement, warehousing, or logistics.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain, 4PL, and 3PL logistics, including experience with LMIS, WMIS, TMIS, and control tower software.
    • Demonstrated experience coordinating and collaborating with stakeholders including government agencies, host country governments and counterparts, and international donor agencies.
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
    • Experience in monitoring and documenting project activities and outcomes.
    • Ability to exercise leadership, build teams, maintain effective communication, motivate, and generate commitment within a team.
    • Knowledge of USG procurement regulations. 
    • Ability to communicate effectively and high comfort level writing and presenting data and information in a compelling way to different audiences.
    • Excellent written and spoken English and ability to communicate across technical disciplines and non-technical audience required. 

    Professional Expertise/Competencies Preferred:

    • Master’s degree in global public health, business, supply chain management, public administration, healthcare administration, or a related field. 
    • Proficiency in local languages is beneficial.

    Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) South Africa USAID South Africa New Supply Chain Support (NSCS)

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Support the Chief of Party to provide technical direction and supervision for all program activities and interventions to ensure integration, coordination, and collaboration across all result areas
    • Ensure that project objectives, outcomes, and deliverables are met and that reporting requirements of the donor are followed.
    • Ensure quality activity implementation and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
    • Promote sustainability of project activities through effective networking, linkages to other programs, capacity building of project staff, and institutional strengthening of implementing partners and local organizations
    • Provide operational, technical, programmatic, financial, and management guidance and support for project activities
    • Undertaking other duties as assigned by the Chief of Party

    Key Competencies Required:

    • At least 8 years’ experience in international development working with donors (including USAID) is required.
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Deputy Chief of Party or in a senior leadership position of a project that is implemented at the country level that required the assembling, managing, and assisting with supervising complex teams. 3 years’ experience with global health (supply chain management, health information systems, procurement, warehousing and logistics) programs strongly preferred. 
    • Demonstrated experience coordinating and collaborating with stakeholders including government agencies, South African government and counterparts, and international donor agencies.
    • Experience in monitoring and documenting project activities and outcomes.
    • Strong leadership, program, organizational management and oral and written communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills for working with project staff, donors and beneficiaries.
    • Master’s degree in global public health, business, supply chain management, public administration, healthcare administration, or a related field. 
    • Experience working and living in South Africa is preferred.

    Analytics Engineer - South Africa

     Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and develop analytical solutions to address business challenges.
    • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data models, pipelines, and architectures for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
    • Perform data cleansing, aggregation, and validation to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
    • Analyze complex data sets using statistical techniques, data mining, and machine learning algorithms to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
    • Develop and implement data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to effectively communicate analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support their analytical needs and facilitate the integration of data models into production systems.
    • Monitor data quality and performance of analytics solutions, identifying and resolving issues to ensure reliable and accurate outputs.
    • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in analytics, data engineering, and data visualization.
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data processes and infrastructure by identifying opportunities for automation, optimization, and efficiency gains.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
    • Proven work experience as an Analytics Engineer or in a similar role, with a focus on data engineering, statistical analysis, and data visualization.
    • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, with experience in data manipulation, analysis, and automation.
    • Strong understanding of database systems, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
    • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Apache Superset, Metabase or similar.
    • Solid knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and machine learning algorithms.
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex datasets and derive meaningful insights.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively present analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
