    Sales Representative

    Job description

    BROAD AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

    • Sales and Orders
    • Actively seek out new clients and markets.
    • Facilitate product sales opportunities by cold calling.
    • Maintain and build relations with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Create and build an ongoing awareness of all Company product lines to facilitate sales growth.
    • Continually expand the prospect and pipeline base of possible candidates.
    • Process orders at both client and store level.
    • Work to set orders, objectives and targets.
    • Support functions
    • Monitor merchandiser performance and compliance.
    • Take corrective action and control to ensure that Company and sales objectives are met.
    • Ensure sufficient stock of designated promotional material.
    • Carry and store samples as per company policy.
    • Report in to the management level in respect of: retail trends observed/researched; successes and/or failures at client level; competitor activity; trade and customer complaints and overall lessons for the sales team

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent level.
    • Relevant courses/programmes completed relevant to the role.
    • Completion of or significant progress towards the completion of a relevant Degree/National Diploma/Professional Institute Qualification.
    • Valid code 08 driver’s license, and must pass a company driving assessment.

    Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of Information Management Systems (IMS).
    • Solid knowledge of sales and merchandising principles and practices
    • Good understanding of market and competitor analysis.
    • Solid knowledge of market research (primary and desk research).
    • Solid knowledge of marketing principles.
    • Good understanding of planning and decision-making processes and principles.

    Skills:

    • Innovative thinking.
    • Ability to create business in new markets/ with new clients.
    • Ability to both synthesize and analyse market trends and developments.
