  • Founded in 2013, Angama is a new venture in the luxury safari industry. Angama Mara, a remarkable safari lodge overlooking the Maasai Mara high up above the floor of Africa’s Great Rift Valley, is a place where everything is just as it ought to be. Angama’s owner-managed approach to business, and taking care of guests, has been tried, tested, and reinvented over many years: we subscribe whole-heartedly to Benjamin Franklin's philosophy of 'Doing Well by Doing Good', the African spirit of Ubuntu, and we believe that we have a firm responsibility to look after both the communities and the wildlife with whom we share land. Our hospitality philosophy is built around flexibility and creativity, empowering our staff in order to offer guests experiences which are crafted exactly as they would like – and filled with moments that take their breath away. We do only what is authentic and honest, and are mindful that less is often so much more. More than anything, we strive to reconnect our guests with the world again, the world as it ought to be. We choose staff who, above all, love being of service to others. And we take care of our staff, so that they take care of guests.
