    Bookkeeper

     

    Job description

    Angama is looking for a highly-motivated Bookkeeper who:

    • Has a good understanding of bookeeping, accounting and treasury management
    • Can keep their sense of humour in the midst of a crisis
    • Understands that in a small business guest delight is everyone’s responsibility
    • Is attentive to the very last detail
    • Has excellent time management
    • The successful candidate’s primary role will be to maintain accurate books of account for a subsidiary entity (to trial balance), monitoring the financial integirty of the reservations system, and assisting in daily cash management.

    Day-to-day responsibilities include:

    • Processing and reconciling bank accounts, credit card transactions and general ledger accounts to trial balance
    • Authorizing invoices for payment and reconciling supplier accounts
    • Submitting VAT returns
    • Producing daily, weekly and monthly reports as required

    Education/Experience

    Candidates with BCom degrees in accounting or similar will be preferred, and those with any or all of the following will be at a distinct advantage:

    • The ability to illustrate a clear understanding and application of common accounting principles
    • Experience with tour operating and reservations systems, in particular ResRequest
    • Experience with Sage One Accounting software
    • High standards of written English
