    Financial Accountant

    Job description

    Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounts Assistant’s primary accountability is to assist the Finance team with daily accounting functions. There are five companies within the South African part of the group and this role interfaces with all five companies.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • General ledger accounting (posting, journals, adjustments)
    • Maintain a complete and accurate trial balance
    • Loading of weekly & monthly payments/receipts on banking portal
    • Maintain Fixed Asset register and Depreciation schedules
    • Prepare month end closing (accounting perspective)
    • Prepare and present monthly management accounts (actual vs. budget)
    • Reconciling accounts denominated in various currencies (i.e. Rand, USD, GBP & Euro)
    • Support FM on external audits
    • Managing stock take & Inventory Reconciliations
    • Prepare and submit VAT calculations (SARS interaction)
    • Prepare and submit tax calculations (SARS interaction)
    • Maintaining accurate Intercompany transactions
    • Co-ordinate insurance cover (with FM support)
    • Manage working capital (with FM support)
    • Focus on internal controls (with FM support)
    • Establish strong inter departmental relationships within the organization

    Desired qualifications/experience:

    • Financial degree
    • Preferable to have completed 3 years’ articles with an audit firm
    • At least 2 – 3 years in a commercial environment.
    • At least 2 – 3 years’ experience working with an ERP system.
    • Preferable to be at Intermediate level of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point
    • Comfortable working with numbers.
    • Driver’s license and own transport

    Db's and Admin Controller

    Job description

    • Maintain and monitor an accurate Debtors book
    • Processing of Customer invoicing and statements in a timely manner
    • Reconciling customers’ accounts, denominated in various currencies (i.e. Rand, USD, GBP & Euro)
    • Prepare weekly debtor ageing reporting & summarise status of each outstanding balance
    • Liaise with local and international customers to ensure timely debt collections
    • Perform Cash Book function, posting of Bank Statements and Bank Reconciliations
    • Comfortable to performing basic GL accounting (posting of journals, credit notes etc.)
    • Add hoc calculation & reconciliation work
    • Contract management (I.e. Internet provider, landlord, company cell phones)
    • Co-ordinating office maintenance
    • Help with IT orders & inventory control
    • Other ad hoc administration

    Desired qualifications/experience:

    • Essential to have either accounting/debtor/creditor clerk experience.
    • Essential to have Pastel experience.
    • Preferable to be at Intermediate level of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point). but at least Basic level.
    • Comfortable working with numbers.
    • Driver’s license and own transport.
