    Compliance Assistant

    Job description

    Job Purpose:
    Assist the Compliance Officer - Africa to support businesses for the delivery and management of the elements of the Compliance Internal Control Framework, and to provide administrative support. To minimize Compliance risk and adhere to US SEC and UK Bribery Act's elements

    Key Accountabilities/ Responsibilities

    • Assist in developing, communicate and implement relevant policies, processes, procedures and annual plans.
    • Establish and maintain updated registers.
    • Support the roll out of the Risk Management Framework
    • Review local documents to ensure alignment with global ones.
    • Manage Compliance SOP repository: Loading of new/revised SOPs and ensure departments are alerted of all expired SOPs to ensure timeous updates.
    • Update matrix with new staff, promotions, transfers and resignations
    • Track compliance training for ,Online and face to face
    • Follow-up with all staff on outstanding training
    • Assist with the delivering of induction training to new starters
    • Keep track of delivery and attendance of all training
    • Organize all aspects of Risk and Compliance meetings, take and maintain minutes, update actions logs
    • Be an ambassador for the Alere values by assisting with annual Compliance week planning and coordination and Speak up awareness initiative
    • Ensure there is an annual Management monitoring schedule in place and is adhered to
    • Records retention
    • Archiving
    • Compile and submit compliance reports.

    Update and Maintenance of the Following Trackers/logs

    • Grants and Donations
    • Third Party register
    • Non Compliance register
    • Gifts register

    • Ensure that the allocated projects are completed within the allocated timeframe
    • Certain amount of travel into Africa to conduct Compliance audits
