    Quality Control Inspector Mining & Rock Excavation Technique Jet Park

    Job Description

    • To (par) take responsibility in the following processes of any local product / outsourced process that qualifies as applicable under the Design and Development clause of the ISO 9001 requirements: oPlanning oInput oControls (e.g. Review, Verification and Validation) oOutput oControl of changes
    • To participate in the selection, approval and evaluation of Business Partners as required for conformance to Company and/or Stakeholders standards and specifications.
    • To perform in-process inspections on work done by Business Partners, either on site (e.g. receiving inspection of outwork) or at their respective premises.
    • To ensure that goods received at the Distribution Centre from local manufacturing Business Partners conform to the required standards and specifications.
    • Ensure that, where applicable, all monitoring and measuring equipment used in the inspection process is within a valid calibration and/or verification period. If not, report it to the relevant person.
    • Where required, assist with the internal verification process of monitoring and measurement equipment.
    • Where monitoring and measurement equipment is sent out for calibration, and it is found that the equipment does not conform to requirements, partake in the process of assessing and recording the validity of any previous measurement results. Assist in the action to be taken on any equipment and any product affected.
    • To compile and assist in compiling quality control plans for all Workshop activities, products and services.
    • To inspect work in progress in the MRS workshops and ensuring adherence to company and/or Customers standards and agreed scope of work for activities, products and services (e.g. all QCP’s).
    • To ensure that a "testing and/or final Inspection" is done on all completed sub-assemblies, prior to release to customer.
    • To sign off final testing and inspection reports of activities, products and service and notify Product Support before delivery to Customers (e.g. PDI’s).
    • To participate as required in internal and/or external Warranty Claims investigations.
    • To continuously audit in-house processes for adherence to quality procedures and continuous improvement.
    • To ensure that the drawing (distribution) control procedure is being adhered to.
    • To ensure that, were product and/or service criteria is not being met, either as a result of Business Partner performance or in-house performance, that this is recorded in the QNova workflow database and that proper root cause analysis and corrective action is being done.
    • To ensure that non-conforming products are properly identified and controlled to prevent its unintended use or delivery.
    • To ensure that, where a non-conforming product and/or service is corrected, that is subjected to re-verification to demonstration conformity.
    • In the event that customer property is lost and/or damage, partake in the investigation and report submission to client.

    Experience Requirements

    • Experience in quality control and inspection processes.
    • At least 5 years post qualification experience.
    • Knowledge and experience in working on CAD will be an advantage.

    Knowledge

    • Computer literate and a good knowledge on Microsoft Packages.
    • A good knowledge of Underground and Surface mining equipment.
    • A good understanding of the ISO 9001 Standard will be an added advantage.
    • Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings
    • Must be able to use and read monitoring and measuring equipment

    Educational Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • Relevant trade ( Hydraulic Fitter/Mechanical)
    • National Certificate and/or Diploma in Total Quality Management will be an advantage

    Additional Information

    • To ensure that products and parts received for Atlas Copco Mining and Rock Excavation conform to specifications.
    • To ensure that products and parts dispatched for Atlas Copco Mining and Rock Excavation conform to specifications.
    • To ensure that Quality standards are documented for all relevant activities, products and services in the Mining and Rock Excavation Services Department and adhered to by Atlas Copco Staff.
